Our 6-year old son has been in Lighthouse Montessori for almost 3 years now, and it has been such a rewarding experience for him and us! We love the amazing attention and professionalism of the staff and the time he spends outdoors on the 40 acre property (even in Winter!). The Montessori approach works very well for him: self-paced learning in small classes consisting of multiple ages. Its a pity that not more schools follow a multi-age system; the younger kids learn so much from their older classmates on how to approach problem solving, obtain information and remain respectful towards others needs and boundaries. Highly recommended!

The teachers here really are special, and they do a great job. The facility is a wonderful, safe, warm environment that feels more like a nature education center than a school.My complaints were how things were handled during the COVID spring. We felt like they dropped the ball with our son who was there during that time. I’m also frustrated how they wouldn’t get back to me when I requested information about their preschool program.

This school made moving to Idaho Falls a wonderful experience! My kids (4 and 7 yrs old) love the outdoor experience and the opportunity to be both independent and in charge (to the extent they can) of their own education - the result has been confident, capable kids who love to learn and use critical thinking in their day to day lives. We almost had our 6 year old go to public school for first grade before Covid hit...I am so very glad we kept him in Lighthouse for the elementary program! He not only kept up, he excelled - he went from reading single-syllable word books to Harry Potter during the course of first grade. He was using encyclopedias to research a report on rainbow trout, got into his times tables in math, learned to type correctly, the list goes on. We are feeling very fortunate to have found a school so accommodating, caring, and effective for our kids.

This is a wonderful school. The teachers are very attentive and informative. My child came home every day with something new learned. They are nicely structured and have jobs for the children to do that are actually teaching mechanisms. I would recommend this school to anyone.

My son goes here and we just love it! It is more than a school, it is a family. I love the Montessori Method and my son loves going to school. Why would you choose child care when you can have your child in school for about the same price? I have a two-year-old and a five year-old attending here. The atmosphere is very warm, friendly, and loving. My kids feel so comfortable and theyre learning so much! Cant say enough good things about this school and the people who work here. An amazing environment and perfect for my kids.

My 3 year old son attends this school. This Farm School is amazing. I think the farm and outdoors portion of the school is very beneficial and always sends my son home with great stories about the livestock. However, I think the core principals of the school are much more important. He is receiving a hands-on practical education where he is encouraged to think freely, solve problems, and love the learning process. He is not taught to search for answers in the book (which is what I feel is taught in most public schools). He is taught to identify problems and think of possible solutions on his own. This school is enhancing his cognitive ability and not just his memorization skills. The real life experiences help solidify what he learns in a way that is relatable to him. I highly recommend this school to anyone and everyone!

My wife & are are throughly pleased with the teaching that is taking place. Our boy is doing great and we are so grateful for the teachers who care. It is refreshing to have a place that really cares about your children. We also love how they accommodate our requests as parents. This is a first class operation!!

We looked for a school that both our children could attend (we have a 3.5 yr. old and a 2 yr. old). Lighthouse has Early Childhood and Toddler classes. The toddlers dont have to be fully potty-trained either. Both our boys LOVE LOVE LOVE their teachers and love going to school. The Montessori learning style has worked out wonderfully. The teachers and front office are all involved both with the students and parents. Plus there is a drop off lane where the teachers get the children in and out of the vehicle. We couldnt be more pleased with our experience with Lighthouse Montessori. If we could take them with us when we move, wed keep them!

This school is hands down the best in Idaho Falls. I have had three children attend the school and they are exceptional academically due to the teachings of a expectation staff. I love the Montessori teaching method.

I have been a Montessori teacher in Maryland for the past 10 years. Since moving to Idaho I have been involved with Lighthouse Montessori school in a number of different capacities. I can say without reservation that Lighthouse is one of the finest Montessori schools I have ever seen. The facility is absolutely beautiful, offering outdoor experiences and an educational environment that you will not find in any other school in the area. The staff is outstanding--caring, creative, and professional. Each childs needs are carefully addressed and their entire person is nurtured. You simply will not find a better learning environment than Lighthouse Montessori.

We are developing a Montessori school in another part of the state. While we were in Idaho Falls, we dropped by (unexpectedly) to see what this school was all about. I cant even begin to describe our astonishment with Laurie and her hard work. She has created a community of well educated and confident children. Older children (we visited the 6-9 classroom) would confidently introduce themselves and seamlessly complete their work while also introducing it to us. They were working well above k-12 standards for their age. They had no idea we would be visiting that day, but Laurie welcomed us and gave us a tour of her school and an introduction to her Montessori students without hesitation. I wish I lived in Idaho Falls so that my older kids could work with Laurie. I am excited for our school to open and I hope we can live up to the standards of Lighthouse.

Lighthouse Montessori Farm School is everything weve been looking for! The school, situated among 40 beautiful acres of trees, fields and orchards, provides a unique opportunity for learning to take place outdoors. The children get to help care for animals, raise a garden and explore nature. Its truly amazing!The teachers and staff at LMFS are exceptional! We moved to the area in the middle of the school year and the teachers made sure my son felt comfortable and secure in his new surroundings.We have had such a positive experience with LMFS that we have chosen to enroll our daughter this Fall!
