I went and toured the school with April and it time well spent. April was so kind, welcoming, and informative! I really enjoyed connecting with her. She shared with me all the information I was seeking- along with more knowledge on things I hadnt yet thought about or considered. The tour was overall FUN. Education + fun= W.I.N. The environment of the school and staff is uplifting and inspiring. I highly suggest checking them out!

I literally just left Empire after a tour at their school & I can honestly say that out of all the schools I’ve viewed so far this by far has been the most pleasant experience of them all! April is very sweet & detailed. She makes sure to give you the facts up front while also making you feel extremely welcomed. I absolutely loved this school & can’t wait to start! Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure to speak with Ms. April Garton, a career planning specialist at Empire Beauty School on Southport Rd. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enroll at this time due to the classes being full, but I really enjoyed my meeting with April! She was very informative, professional, and fun. I came in with a full page of questions and she answered all but 2 by the end of the tour. I toured the school and I must say it was bigger than what I thought it was going to be! I was able to meet my instructors and even able to have a little conversation with a current student. 10/10 would recommend going to Empire for your beauty education, not only did it feel like a family but the perks that come with being an Empire student/alumni is amazing. My daughter came home with a hair cut like this…. No instructor Inspection. I understand it’s a cheap hair cut and it’s a student but to be allowed to leave like this is ridiculous. This student that was allowed to call this acceptable will not make it in the hair world if this is their level of acceptable. SMH.

I just enrolled and the staff was so welcoming and friendly! Front desk was courteous when I called and also when I came in. Ms. April was so efficient and made enrollment stress free. I actually got a hair service done and was able to observe how the staff was helpful to the students and it was a clean & well kept environment. I went there for my hair colour over there and that was my biggest Mistake ever ..i showed them my desirable hair colour but they people did the worst colour ..bleached my hair and after that suggested me to come back again for the colour i want but still they gave me another colour instead of what i want…Staff is also very much unproffesional..not treating well to customers.. they were like working in sleeping mode and also like talking too much and dont focus on workI really dont recommend to visit there specially for hair Colour👎👎No doubg they have reasonable prices so anyone can afford itBut after that you have to spend the double money to other salons bcz of there mistakes

Came into Empire a few weeks ago to find some stuff out about signing to for the cosmetology program! Empire Beauty School is a really nice cosmetology school. Today I went in for an interview to start cosmetology and Brittany was so kind and went over everything so well. We took a tour around the salon and everyone was working very well and professional.

If you want to learn cosmetology Empire is definitely the best place to start. You will learn everything from sanitation to color, cuts and perms as well as how to do nails and facials. The instructors and staff are friendly and supportive and I am very pleased to associate myself with this school

Carla Golder is a great communicator, as well as a stylist. All around a great experience! Would recommend to my friends!!

This school’s atmosphere is so high energy and fun it feels good just to be here. All the staff are so friendly and helpful.

My mother had a perm over a week ago. It was the students 1st perm but had great supervision and perm was great. Went back Sat with all females in our family. I had color that turned out great, my mother had a shampoo and set that looks great and one daughter got a trim and blowout that she was very happy with. Supervision was great and very supportive of students and nice to all of us. My only complaint was my oldest daughter got a manicure and pedicure. It was extremely disappointing. She got gel on her manicure that started coming off the next day. Her pedicure was worse and polish was messed up before she even left. She feels that was a complete waste of her money.

This is a great place if you wanted to pursue getting your cosmetology license and as well as getting your hair did.

I unfortunately didn’t have a great experience. I had to wait to go back 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The student and instructor were both nice although the nail polish job was terrible and it only kept getting worse when they were trying to correct it. After I thought I was finally ready to leave she started to put my sandals on and smudged my nail and had to start over on it which really didn’t make it any better because they all look smudged and dull. Another student constantly came in to chat with the girl and had her mask down the whole time, then is making comments about another student home with Covid and making “quarantined” posts online.

I have been coming to this school since Ive moved to Indiana 4 yrs ago. They have always listened to my wants and helped me with both wants and needs! My stylist, Tanika C.is amazing. Colors, clipper cuts, twists, trims, etc. You name it, she does it!!

Visiting this school is a great way to obtain services at a great price and to help the students obtain the hours needed to graduate. They even have progress days. On these days everything you have done is $15 total. (NOT INCLUDING CHEMICAL SERVICES SUCH AS PERMS OR COLORING)They wear masks, keep the place sanitized and take temps when you arrive.

I had a wonderful, A++ experience with April and all of the educators I met today at my tour. Everyone was so informative and gave me the info I needed about the program. By the end of my tour, the info I obtained coupled with Aprils lived experience going thru the program herself, I left with the info I needed to know in order to possibly make a major career change and pursue something that Ive always wanted to do.

I just had my hair cut here, Jessica Kinney did an amazing job. She knew what she was doing, if she had questions, she asked her seniors for advise. Treated with a smile and people are really good here. It was amazing to be here especially after I had a bad experience @sports clips. I would recommend people to come here and feel the difference.

Im wish there was a way to upload a picture of my two hrs pedicure after it was complete. The French tips were splotchy, uneven, I had to ask her to clip my finish clipping my toes. Completely disappointed with the outcome and service. Huge tip dont tell the client u are talking to the bc u like and need tips :) I get what I l pay and I have learned my lesson

5 stars because I left happy. I was seriously there all day. Somehow I was taken off the list after I signed in and didnt realize until I said something after waiting more than an hour. My daughter was getting a haircut so I was going to be waiting anyway. They figured out what happened and got me back pretty soon after. They also gave me my perm for free because of the trouble. The educators were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. For someone like me it was a very comfortable atmosphere. The student who was assigned to my hair, Susan was great. She did an amazing job and I will definitely go back and ask for her next time.

I love my highlights in my hair. Teacher helps students. I love there prices too. Good people. Clean salon. Very professional. Ive never looked this good before. Thank you empire beauty school .

Dont attend Empire Beauty School if you arent prepared for petty, nonstop drama and bullying, fighting and stealing. The school teachers and admins at this location do not care that students are being bullied and do nothing to stop it, items are stollen between students and clients. The drama and atmosphere there is worse than middle school. There is not a standard that is upheld in that school, with all of that, its hard to want to be there or feel safe there.The admins there only care about having people coming to that school, and paying their tuition. You are not cared about in this school, youre just a disposable source of income for them. If you can handle all of that, by all means, apply and attend this school...but I would HIGHLY suggest spending your time, efforts,talents and saving your mental health by going to another beauty school to obtain your Cosmo license.

Had a great hair cut

Recently had a pedicure and eyebrow wax done here. I have to say the front of house/ costumer service was AWFUL, the pedicure was not good but the eyebrow wax was amazing. Im hesitant to give it four stars but i really was impressed with the esthetics side of it.The women at the front desk acted like i was interrupting their gossip by walking in. They were just rude and catty. When i was leaving a woman brought her son in to get a haircut but it was too late. Apparently they didnt like the sound of the little boys voice and actually made fun of him. Their behavior was disgusting.The woman who gave me a pedicure did a sloppy and careless job. There were several sanitation concerns and overall it was just a crappy pedicure. The worst part was that she told me she doesnt like feet but had to do it to pass. Who says that to a client???The esthetics was amazing, though. The room was dim and relaxing. Everyone was polite and just nice. The instructor stopped in to help and answer question. A friend of mine also got a body scrub and loved it. It was the end of the day so they were cleaning up as i was almost finished and i heard people thanking each other for cleaning and being courteous to one another. Five stars all around for that area. Too bad the other side couldnt have been more like that.

The service was horrible. The girl that working on the front desk her Name is kayla she was Not professional and Not polite Not freaking friendly at all. I will never ever go back to this place horrible service and horrible experiences. And They are very rude.

Empire Beauty School is the place to go for decent prices, entertaining and funny staff interactions, kind workers and as you walk out you will feel 100x better than when you walked in. I went there mid December/January to get bad rats out of my hair and the two ladies who did my hair did a phenomenal job it only took them 2 days to get my hair back to normal and healthy and not matted or ratty, overall would reccomend this place to anyone looking for something thats looking for a decent quality salon where amatuar hairdressers thrive and become better with each new person.

The 2 instructors kept telling my girl something diff then the other one now I am a red q tip with purple in my hair. Never will I go backI changed mine from a 1 to a 5. I went back tonight and ms Penny and ,Nowah (hope name spelled right) fixed my hair tonight they did a great job. Way to go Night team. Night Crew ROCKS. Thank you.

First time here and had the worst experience! It took them 5 hours to do a basic cut and curl. They had 4 different people in my head trying to fix my hair, and none of them could get it to look anything like in the picture I had. I ended up missing my eyelash appointment because I was here so long! But the owner/director did apologize and didnt charge me which is the only reason it even gets a 1 star!! SAVE YOURSELF PRECIOUS TIME AND PAY FULL PRICE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

So I am here this morning to get my hair colored and cut...a new experience for me at a beauty school and was highly recommended by my friend as she goes here...I was told I could get my hair cut but not colored,as I would have to have a skin sensitive test ..first...Are you kidding me...I am 62 Years old and have had my hair colored forever...talking about ruining someones day...they just did...I dont recommend this place at all..if I could give zero star I would...

Everyone should visit! Great prices. I love the salon and the spa offers microdermabrasion, facials, back facials, full body waxing, body scrubs and wraps, hand and foot treatments and much more including gift certificates.

Get a haircut, wash and blow dry on the cheap! Many other services offered as well. Help a student get their hours for licensure and give them a try!

My mother has a broken arm and shattered wrist due to a motorcycle accident and cant bend over the sink or tub at our home, so I told her to come here cause a simple hair wash and braid was cheap and because my cousin used to go to the school. My poor mother had a girl who was incredibly rough, her whole head is sore and red from the girl scrubbing and brushing her hair so hard she must have pulled out a bit of hair. There is no excuse to treat someone so roughly! Especially someone who is already in so much pain and just wanted to get her hair washed! There was another woman in there who got up out of her chair and pulled out her curlers and walked out because of the same reason! I will never allow any of my friends or family to come back to this horrible place! Teach your students how to treat customers!

The educator Dee with the blue hair. Needs to find a job where she doesn’t have to interact with people. She isn’t very personable at all. The overall service wasn’t bad , but that lady Dee just was rude & very unprofessional.

If you are an aspiring beauty professional, this should be your absolute last choice when looking for a beauty school. Rules are changed daily, miscommunication is rampant, instructors are lackluster, disorganized, and incompetent. Pay the money and just go to Tricocci.
