Meridian Hills is a parent-led school that offers a top-notch education. My son completed the 3s-Kindergarten program and is a better elementary student for it. The skills he gained at Meridian Hills are things he will have for life: problem-solving, creativity, working with others, communication with peers (and adults), self-regulation, and many others. Not only did he receive an education, I enjoyed the Parent Education speakers that are brought in several times a year (at no additional cost to me) to speak on current parenting topics. Its been a pleasure to learn to be a better parent alongside my children. Meridian Hills is a leader in age-appropriate education. They have been perfecting the education model for over fifty years. Their current teachers are highly-educated and caring. They genuinely care about my children (and me.) This school offers community like none other in the area.

This school has been a valued child and parent school experience for nearly 60 years. Housed in the same location since 1960, there is a long-standing tradition of professionally trained teachers providing developmentally appropriate play-based academics in an enriching environment. In daily classroom instruction, children are taught how to self-regulate and manage conflict resolution both in the classroom and on the playground. The school is managed in a team approach with parents and staff working together to offer comprehensive parent education.

Raspberry picking, creek stomping, feeding the class guinea pig, making play dough, and exploring sensory tables - this is what has filled our days at Meridian HIlls Cooperative Nursery School, and that was just the first two weeks! My daughter is a Robin (four year old) and she and I have both had a wonderful experience at the school. There are three teachers and they are three of the best teachers I have met. They are experienced, love children, and value the power of play.

Not only is this a great school for kids, but it is a wonderful community of parents and staff. Our kids have grown so much from this program and we have made great friends, as well.

My daughter currently attends MHCNS. The first day we visited the school to take a tour, she was instantly engaged and actively participated in the activities taking place in the classrooms. I knew from that moment, this was the school for our family. I appreciate the engagement of the families, and actually knowing who my child is going to school with each day. This is a play based atmosphere which allows each child to explore their own interests. The love and care expressed by the teachers is overwhelming and exceptional compared to other preschools I have visited. I would highly recommend MHCNS to anyone looking for an active, engaging preschool experience.

Meridian Hills Co-op has been an amazing home for our family the last 5 years. It is so much more than just a preschool. It is a place where children can simply be, without judgment, lofty expectations or unnecessary structure. Its also a place where parents can be involved with the children, teachers and other parents and ultimately learn along with the children. Our family has experienced all the classes Meridian Hills Co-op has to offer and we have loved our experiences from playing in the mud, sledding down the hill, rolling tires in the playground, visiting a stable, the orchards, the creamery, farmers market, IMA, Peewinkles Puppet Studio, seeing the Nutcracker and other shows and so much more.
