BROKEN THUMBI went to pick my son up from Taekwondo class. I came a little bit earlier, and I saw my son sitting on a mat and crying while they had the class. I had to wait for them to finish the class for a couple more minutes. My son came to me and was crying and complaining of pain in his hand. His hand was very swollen. We had to go to urgent care right away. At urgent care, they performed 3 X-rays, and my son was diagnosed with a thumb fracture, and they had to put a splint and referred my son to ortho doctor so he can put a hard cast when the swelling goes down. We ended up paying approximately $1000 for all appointments, Xrays, and casts. A few days after the incident (on Saturday), I went to talk to Oscar and told him that my son broke his thumb. The only question Oscar asked: “Only thumb?” I didn’t even know what to answer. I wondered why they didn’t provide him and ice pack at least and didn’ call me. He told me that it looked just fine (that wasn’t true) and that’s why they didn’t do anything. My son said to me that the instructor just told him to be strong and don’t cry. I feel very disappointed, and I’m scared my son to continue attending Taekwondo classes even though he liked going there.

One of the BEST Martial Arts studios we have been to. Master Gwak is not only kind, and caring of his students, but kind and caring to the parents. Guides us to better parenting with advice and always listening to our concerns. He has helped our family in ways we could never repay him for. He is an important part of our family, and we appreciate ALL he has done to better our child. The respect that is shown, the discipline that is taught, and the life lessons shown are priceless to our family. This place is more than learning Martial Arts.....it is a place of kindness while learning to deal with life lessons, and achievements. You will get your moneys worth through Martial Arts, the summer camps, and the wonderful after school programs. It will be an unforgettable experience for your children or even for yourself. The adult classes are not to be missed!!! Adults learn lessons they might of never been taught or have forgotten. Just a wonderful place to grow as a person.

First of all I wanna say thank you to Master Gwak, Instructor Oscar and Ace for their dedication of teaching Martial Arts and beyond. I have two kids age 6 and 8 who takes taekwondo lesson for more than a year. They enjoy going there because the instructors are attentive, friendly and helpful. The instructors does more than teaching martial arts, they also help all the kids building up their discipline level and confidence. The dojo itself is clean and comfortable for the kids to practice for parents to wait and watch the kids practicing. I think they offer 4 free trial lessons for new students, you have nothing to lose to give this dojo a try. I hope your kids will enjoy their lessons.

When we first brought my son in at 3 1/2 (over 4 years ago), we didn’t know what to expect at all. We soon realized that this was more than just a studio that taught Korean mixed martial arts (TKD, Hapkido, and Sparring), and Master Gwak taught many lessons that would transcend beyond the studio. My son has since achieved his black belt (at 7 1/2) and I couldn’t be more proud. He has learned responsibility, respect, built strength in his mind, body, and spirit. He has even inspired his older sister, who was initially adverse to close 1:1 contact and sparring, to eventually start training ... soon to compete and achieve a “best technique” award! Of course, there are risks associated with any sport and some minor injuries can still occur - but this studio does promote a safe environment at all times and allows our kids to develop into strong individuals under good supervision. We have made many friends along the way, shared many experiences in competition, and developed a high level of respect for Master Gwak, Instructors Oscar, Ace, and many of the staff that have interacted with my children.

After attending a couple of different martial arts academies, we were fortunate to have found Master Gwak and his instructors Oscar and Ace, that have given my son wonderful training in Taekwondo. Learning martial arts teaches my son discipline, concentration, motivation and self defense. Master Gwak explains why and where techniques should be applied, something I did not see in other places. I Definitely recommended Dynamic Martial Arts to anyone interested!

If you are looking for authentic martial arts school visit Dynamic Martial Arts irvine. Ive been training here for years. They teach Korean Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Korean Jujitsu, it is Korean Karate. The thing that makes this school special is that the owner of school is always teaching all the classes. Not like most of schools in Irvine. It is not a Franchise. Im getting my First son into the program as soon as he turns 5 yrs old. They really have great CHILDREN PROGRAM AND ADULT PROGRAMS.

We are so happy we found Dynamic Martial Arts in Irvine. From our very first visit/class, our family felt so welcome. Master Gwak and Instructor Matthew are great with students of all ages. Our daughter Rosemary loves going to Tae Kwon Do class and we can see how it has helped her in other ways. Her confidence and willingness to try new things and/or apply herself in school subjects is noticeable. Robert the teacher for the after school program is good with the kids as well. Our family highly recommends Dynamic Martial Arts in Irvine.

We have 3 of our kiddos in DMA and when we first enrolled them here (19 months back) our goal was to teach them self-defense but they have learned much more than that. They are more disciplined, responsible, and more confident. We absolutely love this school. Master Gwak and instructor Matthew are wonderful teachers. This place is second home for our children.
