If you are wanting to become a better player or youre trying to become a poker dealer, you have one option as far as schools....Tony Shelton Dealing School is the place.Prior to selecting the Tony Shelton School, I researched several other schools in the Las Vegas, NV area. When I met Mr. James Kane, the owner & instructor of Tony Shelton School, I knew this was the school I would benefit the most from in learning poker dealing for the first time.Mr. Kane teaches in the old school fashion that allows you to learn & grow in ways very unexpected. It takes patience and courage to surpass the obstacles of this very technical game.I recommend this school to anyone who works with integrity because this is one of the highest personal qualities Mr. Kane emphasizes to us as students, and so that we may become the most professional poker dealers. Also, if you appreciate a straightforward, no nonsense way of teaching, this is your school.

Best school in the area and one of the more cost effective! The school does exactly what it promises and then some. You really do get what you put out and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity.

9 years after enrolling, I now work full time in Calgary, Canada at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino as a full-time dealer and houseman.the most important thing besides the initial training that I can point out is that even a year-and-a-half after I had graduated, I was always welcome to return to the school and make sure I had the skills to pass any table test. as a result I had temporary employment with the WSOP, the Golden nugget, and The Venetian

The owner of this school is a man by the name of James. He was formerly inthe army, which wouldnt matter were it for the fact he spends a large amountof time discussing it, rather than teaching us how to deal. Because both heand his co-teacher, John, are both so sensitive and unprofessional, youreobliged to nod along and laugh at his stories when you should be learning, lest your draw their ire and the quality of instruction decrease further.Another issue I have with James is based on the fact I came into this schoolwith only a cursory knowledge of how to play poker, much less deal it. Jamesexpects you to come to his school being educated on every facet of playing agame of poker. If you dont already know the rules and basics of how to playpoker and require having it explained to you, James makes his frustration atyour ignorance perfectly clear, huffing and puffing and explaining what hesdiscussing to you in an extremely condescending manner. I would advice younot to attend this school if you dont have many hours of playing poker underyour belt already. Of course, this is not mentioned when you sign up and handover the $ 800 dollars.James also does not like to repeat himself, and gets quite irritated if youneed something clarified, or explained more in depth. So youd better hearand understand exactly what he says the very first time he says it.James also promised us he would help us find a job once we got ourDiploma. This was a bold faced lie. 6 months on and after many requestsneither I, nor anyone I went to class with has a job they didnt findindependently. That is not entirely fair, however, as he arranged for members ofmy class to come along for a group interview for a casino that a friendof his was on the hiring panel for. He of course, failed to mention toany of us that they were not hiring poker dealers. We all went along ona group interview for a job that wasnt even hiring for the position werelooking for. Thanks, James.Theres a second teacher working at this school, whos far worse than James.Meet John. John loves to condescend you. If you make a mistake hell mercilesslyrub your nose in it for the rest of the day. He seems to get off onembarrassing you in front of everyone present. When you need somethingclarified he will explain it to you like youre a child-in an overly slow, insulting speed with an inflection as if youre a complete idiot, with asmug grin on his face the entire time. It got to the point where I stoppedattending class on the days I knew John would be there, for all theabuses I received from him. This school gets 1 star only because the lowest is 1 star.

BEST DECISION & INVESTMENT YOULL EVER MAKEIn Feb of 2015 I relocated from Hawaii and began my new career in poker dealing, I chose Tony Sheltons as I found the owner/instructor James Kean to be very knowledgeable in the casino and poker industry. The training is done on a small scale where you will receive individualized attention and a schedule tailored to your needs. I received my certificate in April of 2015, auditioned for WSOP 2015 and Planet Hollywood and began my working career in Poker. This career has allowed me to travel and work, I have traveled extensively for the past 2 years which includes working WSOP during the summers in Las Vegas, I LOVE my career, I have met many many fabulous, knowledgeable, experienced poker dealers, players & amazing people.YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

When I enrolled to TSDS(Tony Shelton Dealing School),July 2017,I didnt have any knowledge about poker nor any knowledge in math.James Taught me overtime step by step,it took me a few weeks to figure everything out-the rules, reading hands, and how Everything is supposed to work out(being a poker dealer is no joke!).You have to have a passion for it and put in an effort. The environment is friendly and often times experienced poker dealers will come by to help teach and sharpen their game knowledge for the WSOP.James taught us finesse to the way you dealing not just throwing cards and chips on the table. They put a lot of effort and patience in the way they teach. And not just pitching cards, doing all mechanics right but also they taught us to be more observant. They also help you to find a job.I definitely recommend Tony Shelton Dealing School-worth every penny!!!!james and his wife were incredibly amazing..

This is the best poker dealer school in Las Vegas, training and preparing you for the WSOP Audition. They have over 40 years of WSOP experience and an outstanding reputation for their graduated dealers. If you get the school diploma you will pass the WSOPs highest dealing requirements for all variety of poker games.

I just passed my first audition and I owe it all to Tony Shelton Dealers School. James and his staff, Mary, Al, and John (aka poker police) were helpful teaching me the skills of all the poker games dealt at WSOP.
