Came across this place while grabbing a quick cup of coffee and was fascinated by the cleanliness and artistry of this facility. Decided to try it out later that day, and now I’m hooked! Great place to start training!

Extremely nice place, very welcoming and great training. I dropped in for a class while visiting LA for a few days. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging from the moment I stepped in the door. The instruction and training were awesome, and the facility is extremely nice. I highly recommend Meraki BJJ if you’re anywhere near the Santa Monica area or west side of LA.

Meraki is the perfect mix of great teaching, a safe environment, and quality facilities/mat. The fundamentals program for new comers is rich with in depth concept teachings, while the advanced classes have a insane level of technical application and over all training. I personally love this academy for the amount of detail and time they put into each student. It truly is a gym like no other. I would highly recommend Meraki whether it’s your first time or you have been training for years.

Meraki is a beautiful gym with a great vibe. People from all over the city (and world) come here to train and learn. Professors Kenny Florian, Jason Hunt and Victor Silvério offer high-level instruction and positive attitudes. The sparring is very technical, but competitive, and some classes are competition-style with lots of technical sparring. I couldnt ask for a better place to train.

Amazing place to train. The instruction is phenomenal, and there is a great vibe to the gym-- great rolling with a variety of people and belt ranks. The space itself is also inspiring and beautiful too. You can tell a lot of thought went into this place.

This is one incredible jiujitsu academy. The classes are very well structured and the technique is top notch. The instructors pay very close attention to every student, finding the all details to correct your technique. Kenny makes sure you are doing it right and will sit there with you until you have the proper movement. All instructors here are very polite and enjoy having fun. Creating a relaxing environment, they truly make this feel like a home. The students (training partners) here all give that same warming welcome. There are no meatheads at this gym. Just people who love to train, will give you a solid training experience, and keep you coming back. It is something that can be hard to find in a academy. On top of all this the facility is so clean, spacious, and well designed. Exceptional locker rooms and in a great location.I have been training for 7 years now. I have trained all over the country and in other parts of the world. It is incredibly rare to find such an exceptional group, learning solid technique and a very fun environment.I highly recommend you join this academy.

Meraki is a great place to train. Kenny and Jason are great teachers and passionate about their sport. What impresses me and, keeps me coming back, is the amount of though the instructors put into their classes. Classes are well organized, taught to a specific level, and deliberately arranged so students learn a systemic approach to BJJ rather than just a disorganized collage of random moves. Its a great way to learn. Bottom line, Ive dabbled in Jiu Jitsu for years without making much progress and I finally feel like Im getting better. Also, the space is great. Theres plenty of room for all and I love the minimalist design.

Wow! Just rolled through Meraki for a no-gi session and was it a good one. Everyone there was very friendly, the gym is high level, very clean, and very professional. I travel to the west coast a lot and have been to many jiu jitsu gyms in the west coast, LA especially, but nothing compares to Meraki.

Beautiful, minimalist space to train. Bathrooms make me feel like Im at Equinox. Instructors are not only heavily invested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (and Judo), but also in building a cohesive community. Must try this place out!

Great facility, knowledgeable, hands on instruction and an excellent variety of technical, tough training with a laid back and friendly vibe.My gym was closed for the day and I needed to get some mat time in.. Professor Kenny and the Meraki crew welcomed me for a great day class and training. They didnt care about the patch on my back, they just gave me a bunch of hugs that hurt ;) really stoked on my experience.Bathroom and locker room were very clean, with showers, private cubbies, and didnt have that gym/Gi stank.Mahalo

There is a plethora of excellent jiu jitsu in Los Angeles, in many ways the city is the Mecca of grappling. But amongst many world-class schools Meraki is special. Beyond the fact that its unquestionably the most stylish academy in the Los Angeles area, the instruction is special even compared to other world class facilities- while many schools have shark tanks of elite grapplers, they tend to struggle with introducing beginners to the art. Meraki has elite level programs AND careful, considerate intro classes that are open to all skill levels or physical abilities. If you want to try BJJ but arent sure if youll fit in or find a school that cares about you- check out Meraki, it will change your life

I started my BJJ practice with Jason and Kenny just a couple weeks ago, and I am already completely in love with it!!!The studio space is amazing. I love how we get a lot of natural light during the day due to large windows, it definitely empowers and refills me with energy. The vibe of this place is incredible. Both Jason and Kenny are highly professional in their teaching. Not only do they provide thorough instructions on moves and techniques, but they also teach students the art of Jiu-Jitsu: timing, decision making, balance, and beyond.BJJ is a competitive practice, however, it doesnt mean people should demonstrate anger, aggression or bullying. The opposite applies, actually, and our school ethics states this clearly. Every student Ive met and sparred with was nice and friendly. Some more advanced students taught me a few things while we were practicing, and made me feel good about myself even though I know and can do so little. Its very important to build a community like that, where there is atmosphere of mutual support and respect.Kenny and Jason were able to do just that.A separate bravo goes to Fritsy , the manager of Meraki, who is super friendly and accommodating. She patiently helped me to start my journey. Ive been asking her a lot of questions and she would always have an useful advice for me!!!I am extremely excited about my new hobby and hopefully a new improved identity:) thank you Meraki BJJ! I highly recommend everyone to come take a class, youll love it!
