I went to the Paul Mitchell School to see Michaella C. She was awesome! She is so professional and very talented! My hair was healthy and beautiful after she colored at trimmed it! She even gave me some tips on how to best care for my type of hair. I can’t wait to get my next cut and color done by Michaella.

I took my daughter here for a haircut. Megan was very professional. Megan was also thorough with her questions to know our expectations. My daughter said she almost fell asleep while Megan washed and massaged her head prior to the cut! Her haircut turned out wonderful and we will return in the future!

Chloe cut my hair and they were great!!! My hair is kinda weird - with lots of cowlicks and super thick - and Chloe cut it to perfection. Perhaps I’ll have Them add some color next time, as they obviously know how to rock it!!

Recently had shadow highlights and color refresh with Megan and she was amazing. I would highly recommend. I was impressed with her technique and she was so nice. Will be going back to her again.

If you are looking to get your hair dyed, including getting your roots touched up, do not come here! I went to get my roots touched up (I’m an ashy blond originally brunette) and they turned the roots reddish orange. They offered to fix it but when I came in they dyed all my blonde dark brown with orange undertones. They then attempted to take off all the toner with a strong chemical shampoo. Although most of the dark brown came off, I have been left with orange streaks and irreparable damage to my hair.

Megan Schenck was my stylist she did an amazing job asking me what I wanted done then explained the steps in detail she was going to perform to get the outcome I was looking for. She did exactly what I asked for I loved the cut so much went back and had highlights done also! I was extremely satisfied and over joyed with the out come!! In addition to teaching students how to cut hair, they should also consider teaching students how to treat their clients. Greeting them with a hello, asking how theyre doing, and not forcing them to ask multiple times that you, PLEASE wear your mask over your mouth AND nose. Students are completely oblivious that there are customers t there for a service and should be kept safe. Students are taking off their masks, gossipping about their lives and just TOTALLY unaware that they are supposed to be helping their clients. Theres is still a pandemic happening, but not at Paul Mitchell!

Pam is the driving force in admissions, tours, and treating customers fairly and making you feel like family. I had the opportunity to see a student graduate from their state of the art facility, and it was exciting to see someone use their new skills to start an exciting career. If you need a new look,: style,Hcv facial, and more, allow them to hCG pamper you! All future professionals are closely supervised and well trained. If its an exciting new career that you are looking for, then the school is your first stop. Susan and the other staff are also welcome and excited you are there.

I went for a haircut and they did a good job of shampooing it and making my hair softer. But, the lady cutting my hair took 2 and 1/2 hours to cut my hair to shoulder length (which was not very long at all) and that wasted a lot of my time. I would recommend this place as it is good but if you are looking for a fast and good haircut... maybe this is not the place. The staff was pretty nice though!

I HAD very long, thick gorgeous hair. I got compliments all the time. It has been about a year since I last got my haircut, so I figured it was time for a TRIM. I haven’t found a hair place that I love yet so I try other hair salons every once in a while. But let me tell you I will NEVER be coming back. I asked for a trim, about three inches. She did the back first, so I couldn’t see it. When I realized she took upward of 6 inches, it was way to late to say something. I held in tears the whole appointment. Now I have a bob with extremely thick hair & it looks completely awful. My goal was to get the dead ends off to make it easier to work with my hair....that hair cut made it 20x harder to do anything with my hair. I am mortified. It took me so long to grow my hair out like that.....and so quick for it to all be gone, I am so sad. I would NOT RECOMMEND going here to anyone.

Ive gone to other Paul Mitchell Schools - not in Madison - and always had great experiences. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of someone here. I called and left messages on various days at various times and never received an answer or a call back from my many voicemails. I tried to Facebook message them and received a bot response asking me to call the number I had been calling for weeks.I have very fine hair and wanted a straight trim (about 1.5 inches) across while touching up the light layers that were only on the backside of my head. From my past experiences at Paul Mitchell and other schools similar to this, it has taken upwards of 1-1.5 hours no more. However, this appointment took almost THREE hours. For a trim.I also left the salon with layers across my whole head that were completely stiff - as in you could see the direct cut between one layer of my hair and the other. I had to go to another salon and have them cut my hair to the layers that I didnt ask for from Paul Mitchell - so ended up paying for two haircuts and getting a much shorter haircut than I wanted.I really would love to recommend this place as my experiences at other locations have been great. Perhaps a review of the management team as well as evaluation and more support of the students is necessary in order to succeed.

I took a tour today and I must say the moment my kids and I walked through those doors I knew this was the school for Me. Most schools dont like when you bring extra people with you while taking a Tour BUT the staff and students made us feel so welcomed ❤️ My kids didnt even want to leave! Amy was so informative and straight forward with everything. I will be starting in October and We are so excited!🙏🏿👑😘❤️

I have a great experience with my stylist Claire!! She was friendly and had great enthusiasm. We even created a color just for me!! Very professional and clean. Teachers were very interactive with the students and made my experience less stressful. I am now a regular and recommend all to give them a try.

Ive been going to this salon for the past year and its been consistently terrible. Why havent I switched until now? Because its cheap. But you get what you pay for. The stylists are completely unprofessional (talking about how wasted they got last night, who they hooked up with, and how totally hung over they are!). They pay more attention to gossiping with each other than providing beauty services to customers.Ive left very disappointed with their color services on more than one occasion and even had to come back once to have them fix it since it was so bad (which the manager, Paula Larson, charged me for!)This past Saturday I had a hair appointment since I was in a wedding on Sunday. I was called on Saturday morning because my stylist just didnt show up today and was told I would need to reschedule. Once I checked my calendar, Ive tried to call back multiple times on Saturday to make that re-booked appointment, but no one ever answered the phone or returned my voicemail. Its now Thursday evening and I still havent heard back from them. Perhaps this Google review is the best way to get a hold of a manager?

Went there on 11/8. After being late from car troubles and not being able to call due to a dead phone they still took me. Kayla [student] was Amazing!! Spent 4 hours there while she dyed my hair from blonde to red. ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE!! Thank you sooo much. Will definitely be back

I attempted to call Paul Mitchell about scheduling an appointment and no one answers their phones so it is impossible to speak directly to their staff. They ask you to leave a message with your name and phone number if youre interested in receiving a service. I left a message with them four days ago and never received a call back. Extremely disappointing, Im very unimpressed.

Within the last month, I have had my hair cut here as well as my first ever pedicure. Today, I am receiving a root color. The beauty school is awesome, the workers are friendly, and they aim to please. I have been recommending Paul Mitchell Beauty School to my friends.

This experience taught me to never try to save a buck when it comes to my hair again. I don’t think my stylist had ever attempted a balayage before. Wish I had known this before spending 5 and a half hours at the salon, almost 3 of which my hair was soaking in bleach because she was so slow.When I got home my hair that had not been bleached or died in 2 years (it was healthy before this visit) was breaking off and I had to spend $200 to get it fixed the next day and had to cut 3+ inches off. The line between the bleach and my naturally brown hair was not blended AT ALL. I looked like a cheetah. I have called and left messages twice attempting to get my money back and have not gotten any response. TEACH YOUR STUDENTS HOW TO BALAYAGE.

What a treat my manicure was! Not only did Kendra have wonderful skills when giving the manicure, she has an excellent personality and caring way about her! Top notch all around!

The students worked hard with no support from their teachers and no equipment. The pedicure chair is a bucket on a board with wheels and a chair. The student was looking for the bowl to soak my hands for manicure. He couldnt find one and when he asked the teacher she ignored him. Very unprofessional.

Paul Mitchell the school Madison is a SCAM! Do not go here! The teachers come to class drunk specifically Nikki and Jenna! They will tell you that you have completed the program and don’t owe them anymore money but will hold your transcripts hostage and tell you a month after you have finished you owe and RIDICULOUS amount of money over FACEBOOK MESSANGER! They never answer the phone! You will finish the program without feeling confident on your skill because they don’t actually teach you anything because they are DRUNKS! If you ask for help they tell you to “JUST WING IT” They will also lose multiple PHOTO COPIES OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD! If you are looking to get a cosmetology license be smart with your money and time and go to MATC OR Aveda!

My stylist was Jessica Gurley for my cut and color today at Paul Mitchell School. My hair was blonde before, but I wanted to achieve a true platinum blonde look. I wasnt sure quite how to do that, but I explained everything during my consultation. Jessica was able to create a perfect option for me! My hair was a beautiful, bright blonde at the end, and it was soft after my deep-conditioning treatment. I had to use a few extra bowls of product, but that was small additional cost. My cut was perfect too. I just wanted something simple with some layers at the bottom.Jessica definitely knew what she was doing. She would explain the process to me beforehand and then approve it with her supervisor. Each time, the supervisor agreed with her. This truly showcased Jessicas knowledge and comfort behind the chair. Furthermore, Jessica, her supervisor, and I were all happy with the outcome of my appointment! As a graduate student, this was high-quality work for an affordable price. Thank you, Paul Mitchell and Jessica!

I could not be happier with my experience at Paul Mitchell. Recently moved to Madison from MKE and left my longtime hairdresser who I adored so, needless to say, I was nervous to branch out. The staff is SUPER friendly from the receptionist to the hair dressers to the leadership team -- the facility is spotless -- they play great music -- and, best of all, my hair looks awesome.
