Way over priced. If your willing to pay full cost each week for bad services. Go for it.$230 a week for a small room for my toddler to barely play in ailing side 6 others. It only pays for lunch. You supply EVERYTHING.The inflation has become so out of control I have no idea how people are truly surviving right now. They dont feed them healthy foods.

We toured this school some months ago, but didnt enroll as I wasnt ready to leave my children in the hands of someone else. I finally made the decision and it has been a good decision. We have been at Magellan about 9 1/2 months-2 months for the virus that everyone was in lockdown. Magellan places an emphasis on American ideals, Constitution and what seems to me traditional education. My children are soaking up everything and they are learning so much. This is an excellent school and glad I made the decision when I did. They are great and I really appreciate the Pledge and prayer and now the National Anthem. Much thanks and accolades to a fine school.

I always feel good about leaving my daughter at Magellan. Academics are about the best I have seen. Chapel is refreshing and each morning the Pledge and prayer are recited. It is hard to find schools that do this anymore. She is always happy when we pick her up and has something to show us that she did during the day. Food is very good and nutritious.I would recommend Magellan to any parent. Tuition is reasonable and many things are included in tuition. :)

Not only am I a parent of 2 amazing boys who come here, I am also an employee. First things first, the camaraderie here is like nothing else I have ever experienced. The staff truly cares and loves the kids. My 4 year old when we enrolled him here was so nervous and quiet is now coming out of his shell and writing his name correctly and recognizing numbers and letters etc. The director is nothing less then phenomenal with probably the most sincere hearts I have ever had the opportunity to not only work for but to know.Magellan Christian Academy has been nothing but a a blessing for my family.

I told Donna the Director I was writing this review. I am an employee here, but also a parent. I have the best of both worlds. A great place to work, but a fabulous place for my child. I have worked here about 2 years and Ms. Blitch, the owner, is fair, firm, but is excellent at what she does. My son will be in the 4 year old classroom and looking forward to him moving up. The things he learns is so amazing. Just wanted to let you know how wonderful this school is from a parent and employee perspective.

I love this place! Its been over 6 months we have enrolled our daughter in this center and we are very happy about it. The staff is awesome and very friendly. I love the fact that all of the teachers and director of the school care to remember, greet every child by his or her name. They keep conducting many activities that involve parents interaction too be it be academic, arranging some dance, or photoshoot events.Overall we are very satisfied with our choice and would recommend this school to the parents. The teachers are wonderful and very friendly. It is always a good feeling knowing that my child is in good hands. The curriculum is fabulous, I see my child learning everyday, coming home with art works, learning Bible and doing sign-language. Since, we started at this school, I have NOT noticed any teacher turn over. This school has the best communication level in any way. I highly recommend this school if you are looking for a high quality preschool.

My bride and I have had our daughter enrolled at Magellan Academy for about a year and a half now, and although it was very difficult transition for us to let her go attend Magellan, seeing how we recently moved from California, have no immediate family, and our daughter being well suited to staying with mom, the teachers and the staff have definitely had a huge positive impact on our daughter. It took many weeks of our daughter and us crying each morning, but it was only a matter of time when our daughter began loving to go. No only does our daughter enjoy the sociable aspect of being w/ her friends, play time, and games, she has also progressed so much academically with learning shapes, colors, letters, numbers, while also learning the biblical aspects/ principles of Christianity, she has grown up so much and matured so much. The staff is very warm and welcoming, they do their very best at ensuring the childrens safety and well-being, even when it comes to disciplinary matters or when incidents have occurred (accidents, etc.), I feel they have always handled it in the best way possible. We appreciate the teachers and staff wholeheartedly and we can tell our daughter does as well.

Our 3 little ones have been attending Magellan since 2017. It is by far the best daycare out there! The communication is top notch, Ms. Eldonna, Ms. Gloria, Mr. Tom... precious people who made us feel welcome since day one! Magellan has a really sweet feel, with praise & worship music playing in the lobby as you walk in, and Bible verses prominently posted on the walls, throughout. The class sizes are small and there is always one lead teacher & a para in every room. My kids lead teachers have been with them since day one, which is unheard of in this industry. My kids run... not walk... up to them every morning to give them a big hug, because they feel so affirmed & loved by these sweet ladies. I love that at any given moment during my day, I can log into their class and check on them via a webcam. For my husband & I... that is priceless!

My child has been at Magellan in Mesa AZ since he was 11 months old. Daycare was an extremely difficult transition for me, I knew I had to do it in order to help provide for my family and give my child the future he deserves. I looked at daycare centers for months and finally narrowed my search down to a few facilities that offered childcare with the video monitoring; I cant say that we walked into any one facility and it was love at first sight, I had an internal struggle with leaving my child with anyone besides me. (Even his very capable father. Yes I may be well on my way to helicopter parenting, but that is a separate issue.) I will not lie I cried the first few days, and watched the monitors more then my computer screen, I could account for every minute of his day, and when he wasnt on the monitor I fought the urge to call and see what was the matter. (oh, I can laugh about it now... sort of...) I had it in my mind that my child would not know one moment of happiness if he wasnt at home with his own toys, doing his own thing... but of course that was not the case. He has made so many little friends (literally, and figuratively.) and the best part is he is so happy; happy with his friends, the activities provided, and happy with his teachers. (The teachers and staff make it very easy to leave your children there, knowing they are safe, cared for, and loved.) They have become more like family, the ones I actually feel comfortable leaving my child with :) I know he is not only enjoying himself but he is learning.... and for all of you Christian people out there.... I recommend this facility 100%. It is hard to find places now a days that welcome God and His son into their education and structure, and that is very important to us. It is also important that we learn from a young age of how much we are loved by Him, and in todays society that is not only more important than ever, but it is becoming more difficult to teach our children; so a round of applause to Magellan.

Lobby was decorated cute and professional. The teachers and the children seemed happy. After the tour was done, I enrolled my son. He has been here 3 weeks and oh what a difference. DON’T SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! Consider yourself warned. Most of the teachers are great, but it’s ashamed they have to work for such terrible owners. Everything is fine as long as the owner’s getting your money but the minute you have any kind of issue or complaint, you’ll see their real side...The not so Christian side. Also, the nutrition is terrible...a few cheese puffs, or pretzels on a napkin was their snack and lunch was worse. They get better food at a homeless shelter. For the amount I was charged I expected better. If you really care about your kids and their well-being don’t send your kids here.

My Son attended in 2011 to 2013 and we loved it. The teachers were great and kind. Now I have my daughter there and it’s seems like they go through different teachers all the time. For the first month or so she cried all day and would sit in the corner and not until I confronted the teachers did they make an effort to involve her and make her comfortable with daycare. A weeks after starting she had an ear infection for 3 months that she could t get rid of, pink eyes, and tonsillitis. They are not clean about anything there. The teachers feed the kids snacks from their own snacks (I’ve watched on camera) When I pick her up the teachers are not on the same page about what went on that day. The daily papers that go home are clearly generic and have the same thing written on every kids because it is just photo copied with the child’s name hand written. The ratio of kids to teachers are always way more then state regulations. When I emailed Mr. Tom, the owner, about a concern I had about a lockdown that occurred , he completely dismissed what I was saying and then stopping responding to me. Do not send you child here. They are there to collect a pay check, not care for your child.

Both of my school age children and my preschooler attend Magellan Christian Academy. Having Magellan there to help me with after school pick-up for my elementary school kids and teaching my preschooler all the amazing things he is learning in his preschool class has truly been a blessing. They are reliable and my children always have a good time when theyre in their care. In fact, most of the time I come to pick them up for the day, none of them want to leave because they are having so much fun. My 3 yr. old has already learned to write many of the alphabet letters, which just blew me away! They are great and my family loves them. I highly recommend Magellan Christian Academy to any family looking for a great, trustworthy, and caring childcare and/or preschool for their children.

She was very knowledgeable about early education and was most helpful, especially since I showed up at closing for the tour. She is in the 3 year old group and what a difference this school has been. She is actually learning. There is chapel on Friday and my daughter sings me Bible songs at home. Wow they somehow edited my review!!!Don’t go here. They would leave my child soiled in his clothing all day, the director herself would promise it wouldn’t happen again but yet it happened 3 more times. This was when all the kids were going through potty training, if he’s offered the toilet he will go so they obviously never offered. The teachers rotate so fast, everyday it’s someone new and new schedule and zero structure or stability. I’d watch my child on camera sit in the corner all day all alone and not once did a single teacher encourage him to join the group. Needless to say I withdrew him and it was the best decision.

If I could give no stars I would. This will have an appeal for cost reasons and also being christian academy. I never write these but want parents to be warned. My daughter cant graduate because they say I owe money from the last 4 months. Although I get receipts with no balance and also received an email from Mr. Tom that said i owe nothing. Nobody can help you and the owner Mr. Tom will only communicate with you thru email. So even though this is 100 percent their fault and logically does not make sense to wait 4 months to tell someone they owe money if that was the case which it isnt. My 4 year old daughter is the one that gets to suffer for their mistakes and I had to find a new daycare within 24 hours.

I do not post very much but hopes this might help someone.I enrolled my son (almost 4yrs), on 6/20/2016 (1 day) with the aspirations that he would be in an environment that promotes understanding and growth not embarrassment. On his first day at the Magellan in Mesa, AZ he had a potty accident at about 2:30pm during nap time. It just so happened that I arrived at the school to pick him up the very same time one of the ladies was walking him back to his class after changing him. At that point my wife and I were questioned if my son was potty trained (like we made it up). To add to that, I was given a paper from the teacher about my son’s performance which stated, in exclamation points, that “this class is for fully potty trained!!” and had another statement questioning my wife and I if our son can go to the bathroom by himself. But it did not stop there! When I stated that my son was not given a proper orientation and reinforcement since it was his first day, the response from the teacher was “it was a hectic day”.It gets even better. After driving home (3-5 min drive) my son went to potty and he had training pants on (was not told that). I removed the training pants and to my surprise he had poop stuck on his buttocks and on the training pants! Remember, I picked him up right after he was changed at the facility which is just down the road. It is suspect that they didn’t even attempt to clean him up appropriately (just slap a training pants on and send him about his way). This is not only unsanitary but unethical from my perspective. Oh, but that’s not the end! When my wife was removing the soiled items from the bag, it wasn’t enough for the school just to return the clothing. Oh no! She got a bag full of solid poop to top off the day!I submitted the disenrollment form on 6/21/2016. I requested information regarding tuition settlement at the front desk but was told to contact the owner via email because he is the only one that deals with the finances. Under the circumstances I was requesting a forbearance of tuition since he was there only 1 day. Amazingly, later that day I was charged a weeks’ worth tuition plus other fees ($180.00) which was supposed to have been taken out the following day (Wednesday). After a long heated discussion with the front desk (Director can’t be contacted to address my concerns) I heard the terms special needs, state policy and doctors’ note directed towards a situation of my 4 year old son having a potty incident on his first day (but was quick to debit my account for payment). Unsurprisingly, on 6/22/2016 the school debited my account again for $135.00. A total of $315.00 for 1 day of service. I get the impression that every 4 year old must be perfect, 100% accident free (not realistic) in order to be successful in that environment. Will not recommend.
