I love this school so much. I have met some amazing teachers and i have made amazing friendships here. This school has helped me grow mentally and physically as a person making me the hard worker I am today. The teachers here are so dedicated to helping the students Whether its with school or personal problem you can count on the teachers to help. The staff are amazing and the principal is an amazing person, she is willing to hear out students and hear ideas we have to improve our school even more. This is the best choice i have made.

Though around freshmen year like in the first through second week. Same goes with friends and communicating with people. I like this school but I hate that its mixed with other schools in one building especially the fact about metal detectors. Gym is fun :D Algebra is easy but I get late at times but Ill manage somehow. Its a great school for a beginner and yes it does mean Art but not entirely unless you want so. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.UPDATE 03/14/16: This school isnt what it use to be dont even bother applying here anymore.

If I can give this school zero stars I would ! The students are terrible and violent! Oh and the principle? Yea good luck trying to even talk to her, shes always busy and even the guidance counselor! The teachers are rude and disrespectful, theres only a handful of teachers that truly care, the security guards watch fights and wait till the last minute to break it up! Worst school in history! If you want a bad high school experience, then this is your school.

This is hands down the absolute worst experience of my life. Parents, please do not send your children here. Do not let the handful of semi-good reviews get to your head. The truth is, the school doesnt care. The kids here are ghetto and violent. The school is extremely political! Anyone who disagrees will get threatened, jumped, cursed at, demeaned, and more. Trust me, I tried. The worst part is that the staff shrugs you off. I have had staff smile and laugh in my face as I told them my problems. Their solution to everything is to have students write statements and not even pick them up again. Counselors have no time for you and the students are animalistic. The school building itself is filthy and cramped with classes primarily on the 7th floor. Others can stretch as far as the 11th to 1st. The elevator is almost always broken or delayed, forcing students to take the stairs and be late. There were even lead problems multiple times. As I would try to tell teachers my problems they would always remind me that even If I transferred there would be no better alternative. Yet here I am in a school that I love. The only good teachers have left and the one or two that remain hate the school as well. More students transfer than stay and the ones that do also hate the place. The location isnt even all that great either. It is dangerous and filled with homeless people. I was even approached once. Just across the street is a welfare building which is surrounded by crazy and unpredictable people, smoking and shouting. In the beginning of the school year, you will receive no guidance whatsoever. You have to find your way to your class alone, and will be highly looked down upon by the upperclassmen. The hallways reek of drugs..last year there was even a fire that started and all hell broke loose. The school has been reported multiple times to the Board of Education. They expressed extreme concern upon the story of the school. I was even given a two day suspension for leaving during the incident of the fire. You will have other political views shoved down your throat here and will be forced to pick sides. They covered the school which is falling apart in scaffolding and a huge white tarp which stretches around the entire thing. It literally looks like a box. The drama is insane, as fights break out every other day. There was also an incident of rape earlier this year, and multiple cases of stolen property prior. This was my experience here. Opinions will naturally vary but trust me. If you want to have any sort of memorable experience, make it a good one and avoid this place.

This school is actually pretty cool, You can express yourself as you like as long as it is appropriate. I am a 10th grade Art student and while being at this school I have realized how much I improve as a person. I used to be very anti-social but the first day of school of my 9th grade year I started making friends quickly. This school isnt perfect but it isnt bad ether it just depends on who you are and how you deal with it. The only problem I really have is the phone truck line it is very long, but there are other phone options.I like how you can have a good relationship with your teacher and the staff. I do wish Gramercy had its own building. The trips you go on are fun and educational, the environment that the school is around I like because there is not a sense of danger. We have advanced classes in every subject expect Gym. We get visits from many different organizations and colleges that have to do with your major.

This school is terrible, students be in the stairwells cutting classes. Rudeness is beyond level, overly crowded hallways. Absolutely no respect, dirty class rooms, restrooms, hallways, stairwells. Everything is plain out of shape. Poor school structure, the police are so damn cocky as well as those students.
