Oogie Art is a great place for aspiring artists that are still students. I sent my daughter here over the summer and she loved it. The location is good too, there are plenty of asian cuisine close-by for foodies like me. Would go here again when my child gets older.

Oogie Art gave me the confidence to call myself an artist. The teachers are incredibly understanding but simultaneously push you to the be the best version of yourself. Art was my first language and because of Oogie I became fluent. Thank you for everything!

I love going to Oogie Art Studio so much!! I started going to the Oogie Art Studio so I can improve my art skills. I learned more about drawing and oil painting with Noah Offitzer than I did with any of my art teachers I had before. I definitely recommend joining their programs or lessons if you want to just learn how to get better at the type of art you love to do!!

Just over the span of 6 months at Oogie Art my drawing skills drastically improved. The teachers are all very helpful and are always there to support their students.

I attended Oogie for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it! Ms. Choi is an extremely passionate educator, and I could not have asked for a stronger education in the visual arts. Ive been attending Oogie art since 2013 and its been a fantastic few years of great art classes! Ms. Choi and all of the teachers that have helped me have all been fantastic and really seem to care about every student there. I love this place and the teachers!! They really care about you because they have a lot of experience. Ms. Choi even let some of her students stay for extra classes for free just to finish projects and get more practice. I dont know why anyone would write shes money hungry without any evidence and other than it being a personal attack/harassment..Seeing all the reviews from the other students is a testament that she really cares for her students and that theyre thankful for her guidance. Many alumni are successful artists, animators, designers, etc. Thank you for your dedication and hard work to the Oogie Team!!!

My son has been a student with Ms. Choi for 7 years.Within those 7 years, his skills as well as his creativity have only increased. She is not only a helpful and and highly creative instructor, she is able to give back to the global community through what she loves doing most.I recommended a lot of friends and neighbors for her art school, and theyve only said great things about this institution.

Ive known Ms. Choi, Oogie Arts director, for more than a decade, and I can safely say that she is one of the most passionate & generous people and teachers I have ever known. Seeing her interact with students and witnessing the amount of hard work she puts into guiding younger artists has been an inspiration. She has extensive knowledge in the arts and oftentimes travels the world bringing art education to those in need out of the kindness of her heart. She always thinks of alternate programs and trips for her students too.Oogie Art always has the best teachers, and I guarantee that any student under Oogies guidance will create an amazing portfolio, unique to their personality. Students always gain scholarships and they are nurtured to come up with creative solutions to be able to think on their own. Although I went to Oogie Art only for 2 years, I was able to make a strong portfolio in the end, which Im very proud of. Dunno why this is missing that extra half a star, because this art school is nothing but a 6 out of 5.From the first time I walked in to the last time I walked out, I can proudly say that my artistic abilities have grown exponentially, all in thanks to the staff and Ms Choi herself. She isnt afraid to be hands-on when it comes to giving each student the individual attention that he/she needs. The great number of my former peers that have won numerous awards for their work; the prestigious art schools theyve been admitted to; and the scholarships theyve won all attest to Ms. Chois selfless dedication to her passion.As they say, haters gonna hate.

Ms Choi was my teacher for three years, and she has opened my eyes to a very wide range of opportunity in the visual arts and design field. If it werent for Oogie Art, there is no way that I would be able to expand my creative thinking and gain acceptance to very selective art and design programs. Had it not been for Ms Choi, I wouldnt have been guided to be comfortable in multiple mediums that I would not have otherwise tried. She is an honest and adaptable individual who brings out the best artist from every passionate student.

I personally had a different experience Ive been there and taught by Ms. Choi for almost 3 years. Although she has a lot of students to take care of at once, she did her best to guide each student with full effort. As a result all the parents and students were satisfied and appreciated the amount of time and guidance she gave us. Thank you Ms.Choi !!

I really had amazing experiences at Oogie art. Ive went through a lot of studios and after school classes but this place was the one and only that helped me truly without lies and false advertising. Oogie art helped me with all their heart, and because of their effort, I could finish my portfolio in 2 months.And the amazing educators, they are FABULOUS!! They are really professional, caring and hard working. They never disappointed me, and especially Sophie, she is an amazing advisor! She introduces me to these amazing artists on Youtube and it inspires me a lot.And last of all, Ms. Choi! As far as I know, Ms. Choi is the person who care her students more than anyone. Oogie Art and Wook Choi we appreciate your water project at Kasangula Talent School in Uganda East Africa .It has not only impacted the school but also the community around.1.The school can now provide safe and sufficient water for drinking to staff and learners2.There is Improved health and Cleanliness of learners .They can Wash their hands after toilets4.Pupils no longer travel long distance to collect the water for drinking and cooking porridge.3.During dry season the community collect water from the school tank.

Studying at Oogie Art was one of the best and most formative experiences Ive had in my life. I attended Oogie Art for over five years, developing my creative and analytical skills in the hope of pursuing art in college and for my future career. Not only was I accepted to Ivy League and prestigious schools as a result, I am indebted to Oogie Art for the recognition, scholarships and opportunities abroad. I still remember my first time in 7th grade when I stepped into Oogie Art and I was greeted with the warmest motherly greeting from Ms. Choi. To this day, a Junior in college, she greets me with the same warm smile I remember her by. I had been to other Portfolio classes but never a class where a Director was so passionate, involved in creating a relationship with her students. Under her guidance and other Oogie teachers, I was able to gain confidence, skill, and appreciation for the processes in which one could create to express oneself.With her guidance as well as her colleagues, Ive found a passion for education and am now a Junior in the Art Education department in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My daughter Maya started at Oogie Art NYC in the 7th grade with no experience, not even knowing how to draw. I dont usually write online reviews but I just have to thank Wook Choi and Oogie Art NYC for helping my daughter Maya become the artist she is today. Also as a former student of Ms. Choi, I have nothing but the utmost respect and gratitude towards her. I was a student under Ms.Choi and other teachers for 6 years and the achievements I was able to make could not have happened without her and the staff at Oogie Art. Ms. Choi and my family have been able to develop a strong bond in which she was able to juggle the business, personal, and educational relationship throughout the 6 years we spent together. Being able to reach every goal that she and I have set for myself have always seemed to be in reach and never too far. Today, I am a junior at Pratt Institute studying Interior Design, which was a goal that I let her in on the first day I started working with her. Personally, I am extremely offended and hurt that anyone would have anything except personal issues be what defines who she is as a business woman or teacher. I am extremely thankful for the countless times she has reached her hand out to me and my family, and for helping me to be the student I am today.

Ive known Wook Choi for over a decade and she is an amazing, kind hearted, enthusiastic, and driven woman. I started out as her student and learned a great deal about thinking critically and creatively as an artist. Wook Choi pushes her students to achieve the most they can, and really caters to each students needs based on their skill level. Shes a very busy lady, but she always makes time to meet with each student and their parents to make sure everyone is on track.

My experience at Oogie Art was nothing but positive. After attending Oogie, I went on to study art and am now an Illustrator. Ms. Choi dedicates all of her time to her students and her guidance definitely served as the catalyst for my passion for the arts. I grew as both a student and artist there, and I cant thank Ms. Choi enough for all that I learned at Oogie Art.

Choi Wook is the WORST human being/ art teacher I have ever encountered in my life. She is good at making herself bigger than she is and managed to hire good MARKETING PEOPLE.I sincerely hope that students or students family are no longer hurt by her LIES, BAD CHARACTERS (telling lies, being jealous, spreading rumors with no facts), and FAKE kindness. For her, it is all about her EGO and BUSINESS.She loves to PUT DOWN students who do not meet her standards and MAKES LIES so much about students, fellow teachers, and her competitors JUST TO WIN her position. I have never encountered a heartless teacher in my life.She had her husband call one student and said CURSING words that I cant even write here. Her other students told me that she made up AWFUL lies about the student to ruin her reputation. It was so SHAMEFUL to see that two adults that are HATERS acting like little kids with NO MORAL VALUES and CHARACTERS when they are supposed to encourage students and embrace their talent as an artist with great potential.

Ms Choi is the most caring, passionate artist/art teacher I have ever met in my life. She was a huge inspiration to me and she always pushed me and all the other students to strive for excellence! I was a student of Ms Chois since 2005 (11 years!) and she is still so memorable to me. All the students she trained went to amazing schools, and went along to have fulfilling careers. I can list a few success stories Ms Choi definitely has a great hand in. One of my colleagues from Oogie Art worked at Chanel for her first job, another became an architect at one of the leading firms in New York City, another became a Nasty Gal award recipient, and so many others.. Ms Choi is a wonderful person and teacher, and I have so much respect for her. All her students love her deeply!

As a former student of Ms. Chois of nearly 5 years, she has nothing but my utmost respect. Balancing family life, with that of business, while building a relationship with individual students is no easy task - And Ms. Choi is one of the few people whom I have met that have found a balance among the three, and done so successfully for as long as I had known her.Had it not been for the of tutelage of her and her colleagues, I would not be here, at Parsons the New School for Design, with a full scholarship. I cant imagine why anyone could have anything negative to say about such a wonderful, strong woman like Ms. Choi besides personal vendettas. I stand by my alma mater and former director for everything she and the school have done for me.

The school and the owner cheat on everything. I would not recommend this school to anyone!!! Manhattan school only has one teacher for 40 students. The owner Wook Choi couldnt care less about the students. She talked on the cell phone all the time during the class and do work for the students to cheat on the art awards....

I started going to Oogie art from Sophomore year in high school. That time, I had no clue how I was going to get into colleges I wanted to go to and what I had to do first. Luckily, Ms.Choi always gave me tips and memorable lessons which always made me work harder. Thanks to Ms.Choi and other teachers, I got accepted to all the colleges I applied for such as RISD, Pratt, Parsons, SVA, and Syracuse. I was desperate for a guidance that time and if I had not met Ms.Choi, I probably would not be where I am now. Ms. Choi guided me to build a better portfolio and win awards. If I were to recommend this place to other students who are in high school or middle school wanting to go to a dream school they wanted to go to, I would definitely recommend Oogie Art.

There should be one Hangul too ... Woogie Art is the place where I entrusted my daughter. After graduating from Woogi Art, even after a year, I still want to thank and thank him for the love and passion of Choi Wook Sam, who still maintains good coaching and coaching with my daughter ... If you ever need to work on portfolios or other artistic activities in Korea, if you knock on the door of Woogi Art, you will never regret it. Highly recommended.
