I attended back in 77-79 and it was a great school to be at. All my teachers were the best. Looks totally different now. Glad to know its still a great school!

I LOVED this school. The teachers really care about the students ability to learn, and they offer so much help outside of classroom time to get students back on track. I am now in my sophomore year of college and studying education due to the fantastic experience and support given by principle and teachers from class of 2019.

I had experience being discriminate from that high school. I was 16 years that time taking the exam and I met with a Asian student, and we was taking the test together. He draws poorly and didnt take the test seriously . I was most likely being serious and know how to draw good than him. The person that give out the test was Caucasian. When I show my pro-filo its like he wasnt interested in the first place so it was pretty much quick for me to leave. I heard my results and I didnt get accepted to the school but my Asian friend did and he didnt bring that much pro-filo.

Been here for about 2 months, and its been pretty good so far. Ive only been here for a short time, so that might change, idk. My cousin went to this school, and he said it was good, so im taking his word for it. Staff are respectful, and the school is very accepting. The school also offers a variety of clubs, so thats good....i think. The only complain that I have is that at the beginning of they year, it was a bit of a mess, but hey, I cant blame them as nobody really expected this pandemic. In all, this is a good school (so far) and I would recommend it!!!

I’m only in seventh grade and think my art is trash but this school seems really cool I love art the history of it and all I love design as well!!! I would love to go hear I’m trying my hardest with my portfolio 💼!!! I’m doing lots of fashion drawings and trying to do realistic I’m more of a cartoon girl but I REALLY HOPE I GET INTO THIS REALLY NICE SCHOOL!!!

Aaah i just got accepted and im so excited!!! (For visual arts)update: so the work load is a-lot so plan ahead if you get accepted, since most people don’t work well trying to finish everything in 2 hours. But the teachers care and the principal is chill and listens to the students.

So, I just did my audition yesterday.. and well it was my first time going to the school since I didn’t go to the open house & Omg, Im so impressed. The school it self is sooo Beautiful and Organized, And The Students & Teachers are all sooo nice! Ive been to the drawathon and it was great. The illustration teacher Jason is very focused and dedicated to the students. Hoping for further interaction with this high school in the future.

Pretty alright, I graduated in 2015 on time. Just dont buy the starter kit, most of the things there you wont be using for any of the majors. Only thing really important is your gym clothes, locker, and the piece of paper that gives you a discount at the school art supply store.

Fantastic place to be. They gave me a firm foundation and now Ive joined fan pages on Facebook and met so many beautiful people. Thank you for your teachers, staff and valuable connections.

I am a freshman i love it here you are treated with respect from your pears and teachers .The work is challenging but not to challenging . I recommend coming here for art or the arts

I got a letter for high schools acceptances (just today) and im going to this school. i heard good things about it. My friend also got into the school. oof. im nervous about going tho. my grades are average but my art is absolute trash.

I use to go to this school before they rebuild it. I hope it have improved because the old school had wonderful Art teachers and also in other field but sucky organization skills when it comes to student learner. Hope it work out well and not loose the fact of enjoyed your craft of drawing. good luck future school I will pay a visit.

I was there in the early 60s. it was a great school that gave a South Bronx kid a window to the world as an artist. It was a great experience.

This school has given my son the opportunity to expand his creativity and express himself through hisartwork. they have professional srtist on staff and a unique way of teaching through an artists mind All subjects include art in their approach towards teaching. My son and I have had great experience with this school. I would recommend this school to anyone with a child that has artistic talent. It wull bring their talent out

My son is a student at art and design and the teachers are dedicated to their craft and the students. The skills that he has learned here will be beneficial for his future success in the college he attends.

I used to visit this school every now and then when the old building was still around.A family member of mine along with a few my friends used to attend here. Lots of the students artwork is usually displayed near the entrance.And ever so often the schools drama club showcases some of their plays for a bargain able price.

Art and Design is a school that can benificial you if youre able to work with the administration . the school suffers from issues that a lot of public schools face. problems such as underfunding of the math department as well as weekly teacher layoffs and not to mention the crappy teaching criteria that even the teachers are oppose to . In short the school is not a bad school , currently im going to it now , lucklily my first year has not been what my pears had described it to me. However if this is your first Highschool experience id like to say good luck, because nor the teachers or the staff will do much to ensure your success .Also if your expecting high level art training ,youd be doing yourself a disservice if you dont try the illustration and cartooning major , which seems to be the more fiting and closer to industry level teachings with wonderful teachers with god level skills .

I love this school, teachers are good at teaching, students can explore their talents with the help of art and design. But maybe once in a blue moon the teacher will lose students homeworks but that can happen anywhere i guess.
