I completed the program in 2 weeks. It was fun! Great Instructors, met great people, great school. At the end you have to take a drink test, 12 drinks in 7 minutes, to certify and you can keep trying until you get it. you have two tries each day lol. If anyone’s thinking on going here for your bartender certification, a decent choice!

Just like any other school you You don’t actually gain the full experience of working a job in school , you do gain a lot of skills such as techniques proper bar adequacy how to deal with customers alcohol awareness and it puts you in a position to be a good bartender and it’s really and truly the most important thing I started school two years ago I was promised that I would be able to return anytime I want after my tuition was paid I paid my tuition and I’m attending school again freshening up my knowledge! I am very sure with the proper networking skills I’ll be able to get a job and I want people to remember they didn’t promise anybody at all a job but they will help people get jobs through their work placement program that does not guarantee a job and only opens doors and opportunity You make it happen!And it does help when you go to the interview and you tell Then I went to school for bartending for two weeks I got certified There not just gonna hire anybody behind the bar is the most spend lucrative part of the business come to gain knowledge experience and technique!

The classes are super fun and a really good value for the price. Before I even finished the school I had a job at a new craft bar, and they liked me enough that I got a job at a second one within a couple of weeks. So I think thats a pretty good testimony to the quality of the school. I think its a great school even if you just want to learn to make good cocktails with your friends. I actually wish I had a friend do it at the same time with me because its pretty cool.

I’m so happy that I chose to take this course! This course provided me with the resources and practice time to develop the skills to tend a fully stocked bar. If you choose to take this course, which you should, make sure to study the drink recipes and materials to get the most out of this course. You’re tested along the way to help you see where you need to improve. The hands on training behind the bar allows you the opportunity to make mistakes in class and learn from them before landing that job you really want.

They are very eager to sign you up and take your money but will not help you find a job. I will say the course is very informative but in NYC no one wants a bartender out of bar school with no experience, you can email their job placement advisor Lisa and all she’ll do is review your resume and tell you to apply to the same places on the job board, never actually getting you a real interview. Save your money!!!!

I was astonished at how effective the curriculum was. People that knew nothing about alcohol became competent bartenders in such a short time frame. As someone that already had experience, I still found the course engaging and interesting. The morning and afternoon classes have different instructors and styles, so I would suggest dropping by to get a taste of each before committing. I graduated from the afternoon class and found a gig within a day of looking. Job placement is very helpful and truly cares. I am trying my best to get some new props and equipment back to the school so that should take care of why I subtracted the fifth star.

I excel with this training better than I thought I would. Before attending ABS I had an idea of what bar tending was like but it feels even better to receive the training that I did at such a fast pace. The more hands on the better. Repetition is the key to learning!

Highly recommend if you need to learn the true skills of being a bartender. Its not so easy as it looks when you witness a person making a drink. It requires skill, training and patience getting it right and the courses offered in this school offers just that. We made an appointment to attend the free trial class. Before the class, we met with Joe, who didnt introduce himself. He asked me if I have a job now. I have filled out a questionnaire to indicate that I have no bar-tending experience. I dont think my current employment has anything to do with learning bartending, so I told Joe that I dont feel comfortable to answer this question. Immediately he tore up our questionnaire forms in front of our face and said we are done. American Bartenders School is fly-by-night business. Very unprofessional. Dont go!

This class is worth every penny. Everything you learn is not only practical and relevant but a lot of what you learn will prepare you to hold your own beside more experienced bartenders.

Working with this bartending school was one of the best weeks I ever had!The course was professional, very thoughtful and most of all extremely fun. I had a really great time learning the ropes at ABS! After completing the program Ive gone on to build a nice stream of income contracting with several companies. As an artist flexibility is key, and Im glad I was able to finally gain some.

I dont know how many schools they got doing this sort of thing but i have to say that This is one amazing School! They got everything you need to get you going. Rip off, I sat down and talked with Jean Martinho and she informed me that classes would start as soon as I started paying. Gave my deposit and never heard anything from them again. She harassed my phone before I came in and to this day I have heard nothing about my contact.

For Christmas this past year I decided I would take up bartending school. I researched schools and really allowed the school to sell itself to me as an organization. Everything about ABS stood out to me and a very easy to learn curriculum with awesome staff!

The staff was great, they offered an excellent explanation on every topic they introduced. It was informative and very easy to follow. The environment is friendly and communication is superb. Hopefully you can take some time to visit this school.

I had a blast taking the bartending classes. The teachers would always show us how to quickly make drink. They had gigs every week from parties to weddings. Jobs were posted almost everyday. Big thank You for all your help and support in finding me a job!

I came here during college, hoping to pick up a fun and lucrative skill—I didnt realize the curriculum was going to be as organized and rigorous as a college course! Theyve got bartending down to a science, and treat it as such. Advice: start memorizing your recipes ASAP. Definitely would recommend.

I went there today，at the beginning, i felt everything was perfect. and then the agent laday tried to talk with us. she is knowalegable but at the same time , what she actived is showing she doesnt respect us. she kept talking her own story and when i acted a little bit hurry, she even said now the young people dont listen to the other people you should the law! i have other schedule and i have my own question but every time i try to ask ，every time she said i need to wait util she finish. i stayed there over 30 minutes and before i leave , i have no change to ask my question. so i decided gave up to the other school.when she asked us question。i gave my answer， but she acted a little angry. the second time i gave my opinion about if the bartebder can or can not drink in the bar, she looks so angry obviously.in the end , i just want to say maybe some people know nothing before they come here and want to be couraged to study in your school. but before i came there , i already knew what i want to know or want to get from your school . i just want to compare the differences between schools and then make my final decision.she should respect us firstly.actually i felt so upset and disoppointed with this school.

I am amazed everyday how much I know and learned in such a short period of time. I truly feel like I know what I am doing and like I could handle tending a Bar by myself, and that is totally and completely due to Joe.It truly was an amazing experience and I am eagerly looking forward to many more in this industry.

Ive always felt insecure about my inability to become an adult and my lack of experience with alcohol was one of them. One of my sisters is heavily engaged with the craft beers scene, whereas I was always the one ordering screwdrivers due to lacking knowledge about any other type of cocktail. On a whim, I decided to enroll for the 2-hour course at the American Bartenders School. For $29, it was an excellent investment. I feel much more confident in myself and my social skills due to having taken a class here. When I have more money to spare, Im definitely interested in taking the 12-hour course!

Great classes and amazing instructors. The classes were very informitive and the instructors will make sure you learn everything there is to know about mixology and the business. The instructors also helped with getting job opportunities. You wont regret taking this course.

Joe is the one who is very bad to some of the students. You can tell when you see him. They are behaving like group attack to some people little by little. Joe doesnt respect certain people at all and blaming others that they could sit in the office doing some paper work. Most ugly part is, most bars and restaurants on their job lists are behaving unprofessional.

I have a few friends out in San Francisco who work in the bar scene and turned me onto the culture. I knew they made a good chunk of money in that line of work, so when I moved out to New York, I did myself a favor and signed up for one of ABSs classes. Everyone I dealt with there was incredibly sweet and knowledgable, and I feel so, so, so much more prepared to work in the bar world after taking the course. I attended this bartending school about a year ago, and I am still working with the company ever since. I received hands on training and all the instructors helped with all my questions 101. I was working as soon as I got certified and I love what I do! It is definitely one of the best choices I have ever made to help me pay for college.

I just graduated last week and I honestly can’t believe I did it. Anyone can learn how to make drinks, but not everyone can become a rockstar bartender. That is what this school does in addition to helping you create LONGEVITY in this career. I attended the school a decade ago and was slightly disappointed by their job placement program after I graduated. They helped me with my resume, my personal pitch, and establishments that were actively looking to hire, but I still struggled to find a job. Almost ten years later, I called, and the new owners were excited to hear from a graduate and eager to help me get work. This is an organization that values its people. I never would have guessed how much I enjoyed bartending, but I doubt I would have the career that I do, without their training and support.

I knew nothing about bartending. But learned so much with in 2 weeks. Thanks to Joe and Howard. Jennie let me sit in a class and observe before I decide this is where i want to spend my money. Classes are flexible 3 class are offered Monday-Friday:morning, afternoon, and evening. Best thing is that you can take unlimited amount of classes no extra cost. After you graduate you can come back and practicle no extra charge. You are taught every thing for A-Z. They also help with job placement.

I just completed the bartender training course and its money well spent. Entering the class, the only thing I knew about liquor is it causes MAJORS hangovers if I over drink, but after 2 weeks, I have the basic info needed to bartend. I properly learned close to 60 popular drinks in a short time and the morning/weekend teacher is a great teacher and fun to be around and she knows her stuff!I highly recommend anyone interested in bartending to take the course here, well worth it. I believe they deserve at least 10 stars, not 5.
