This is our third year at the school and it’s an incredible place for our child. The intimate environment is the perfect balance for a young person growing up in bustling NYC. The best kept secret is in plain site in the middle of the West Village.

This school is an amazing, focused school which provides a nurturing environment grounded in rigorous academic approaches and a character-driven ethos.One of only two Co-Ed Catholic primary / middle schools in Manhattan (and the only one below 60th street), it provides a warm introduction to catholic tradition while being welcoming of students of all faiths. The school consistently has large amounts of children from various religious traditions as well as students who are foreign-born or have parents from other nations. This diversity is celebrated most on International Day when students select the country which they want to represent and dress up accordingly.Its first two graduating classes (2016 and 2017) were accepted to a wide range of top ranked high schools in Manhattan and around NYC.

The AOSJ has been an unbelievable spot for our daughter. She started in pre-k and has truly blossomed. The innovative approach, the opportunity for parents to get involved, and the small class size were all amazing selling points. For an elite institution in The Village the tuition is also highly approachable. Much of this is credit to the founding headmistress Ms. Coombs who truly ensures students are tomorrows leaders, not followers.

Wonderful school with a wonderful community. Angela, the head of the school, is a gem.
