If I could rate them 0 stars I would! They are kicking children out of remote learning because of problems with paying tuition hello! It’s a pandemic that’s selfish for children to miss out on their education due to issues beyond my control. The employees are horrible the classes are over capacity.

Both of my young children are students at OLL. When we toured the school several years ago we immediately felt a strong sense of belonging. My husband and I were impressed by how well-behaved and respectful the upper grade students were with us. Everyone was very genuine and open-hearted in having us there.OLL is not a super high-tech school. The biggest draw for us is that it feels like a neighborhood school where everyone knows each other. There is a powerful sense of community and strong ties to raising bright, socially responsible humans with a moral compass. It is also academically challenging, which is a huge plus for my kids. We have a child who is a top student in the class, but requires special education in speech. It’s a very difficult task, but together we are all working very hard to meet such challenging goals. The school offers many wonderful programs such as chess, coding, soccer and dance as after-school activities. There are programs sponsored by Alvin Ailey, Millennium Dance, and the New York Philharmonic, to name a few. They even teach Italian! They offer lots of creative opportunities, which helps stimulate learning. The Christmas and spring concerts are a true joy and proud moment to watch as a parent.

I normally dont write reviews but I feel the need to warn others. My step-daughter attended OLL for the 2018 - 2019 school year. We decided to withdraw her, for personal reasons, and notified the school on March 26th, 2019, that she would not be attending. The Vice Principal, Ms. Recaido, acknowledged this on April 29th.Per the Archdiocese, Smart Tuition, and Our Lady of Lourdes, if we notified the school of her withdrawal before August 15th, we would be free of all liability for tuition for the 2019 to 2020 school year. We notified the school on March 26th--almost 6 months before August--and they STILL tried to bill us for a full year come September. We got in touch with Smart Tuition, who got in touch with Our Lady of Lourdes. Apparently Our Lady of Lourdes lied and said we notified them after August 15th, so Smart Tuition said we still owe tuition for one month, tried to bill us, and told us that, in order to do anything about it, we needed to get in touch with OLL.My husband tried, multiple times, to get in touch with Our Lady of Lourdes, through Ms. Recaido, school admin, phone, and the schools contact form, in order to address this issue--NO ONE ANSWERED US. How convenient that they disappeared once they wanted to charge us for a month my step daughter did not attend! My step daughter physically did NOT attend this school in 2019 - 2020. We notified the school of her withdrawal by the appropriate deadline. They are STILL trying to bill us. They sent us an email about how they understand that these are challenging times, but they still need to take our money. Dishonest practices. SHAMEFUL, especially for a so-called Christian institution. I chose OLL because I attended Catholic schools as a young girl, but this experience has been nowhere near my childhoods--I deeply regret bringing my family into this mess of greed and deception.

My daughter attended OLL this year for PreK3 and it has proven to be the right choice for our family. The teachers and staff are the heart of this school, it is a family, you feel that from the moment you walk-in. The administration has the best interest of students and their families in mind at all times. I have looked at many schools, I toured 10 before selecting OLL. The key is the administrations ability to listen to programming suggestions. The enrichment offerings and the plans for the next five years are impressive, there is no school - certainly in this area -offering a fraction of the programs OLL offers. If you are looking for private school education in NYC - OLL is worth strongly considering.

This school is terrible. My child used to go here last year and it was not good. This school used to be good with the old principal, but ever since Susan became principal it just went down hill. They dont listen to your problems and the vice principal used to be good but now she is disrespectful, over dramatic, and she never listens to her students. GET A NEW PRINCIPAL or shut down the school!!!!!!

I went on a tour of the school a few weeks ago and I was very amazed of how the children in the kindergarten class was so full of energy ready to learn and answer questions. The teacher seems to love teaching and has great interaction with the children. All the staff that I met were very welcoming. I attended an interview yesterday with my daughter and so happy that she was accepted.

This school is a nightmare!!! The classes are overcrowded and they only care about $!!! Kids are considered numbers!!!The new principal and vice principal are always right no matter what kind of issue you present them they will find a way to make you feel it’s your fault or worst your kid fault! Thanks God I moved my kids !!!

My daughter has attended Our Lady of Lourdes for the past 4 years and she is thriving both socially and academically. The teachers have been great and play an important role in my daughters success. The principle has demonstrated leadership and works tirelessly to keep the school humming which is important especially amidst other Catholic school closings. They also have a breakfast and after school program which has been beneficial.

The staff. They are very uncooperative and do not listen to many things the kids have to say. Opinions dont matter in this school and resources are very limited. Some teachers and outstanding and the curriculum is phenomenal but as for others they are not only hypocrites but consider themselves gods as they stand upon there thrones of stacked up ungraded worksheets. If only they listened to what I had to say all those years rather than yell at me for things they didnt understand.

I have had all 4 of my kids go through this school. My 3 girls and my son have all gone there the youngest my son who is 10 has another 3 years and that will total about 20 years of history with us there. The staff is wonderful very attentive and they work individually with each child. Mrs. Hufnagel the principal is wonderful and Hope and Pray that Mrs. Velazquel never retires she will totally transform your child along with many other wonderful teachers there! I can go on and on but you can go in and get a tour!

I love this school! Our daughter is in her 6th year at OLL. The faculty and administration are always respectful to her and truly care about her. Her class is terrific and the kids seem to really care about each other. She is challenged academically, spiritually and socially. Their art, music and language programs are a great asset as is their affordable and expanding aftercare program. I volunteered to start a parent group here because thats all I could see that was missing. Its growing and bringing more opportunities to our school. We feel blessed to have our daughter learning in such a safe and nurturing environment.

This is not the best school my little cousins go to this school and the staff give demerits for the smallest things. They also want to represent there school in the best possible way but they are not the greatest . You should really think about if you want to put your child in this school or not. Also some teachers have favoritism towards different classes and you should think about that to. I dont have nothing against OLL but my point is that you should see if this is the right chill for your child.

This a great school! The administration and staff care deeply about their students. For 8 years, Ive felt my daughter was safe, loved and challenged.Four years ago, several parents felt that OLL was terrific but that it needed a Parent Association. With the blessing of the administration we started one.In addition to strong academics, a thriving arts program and a value based education, there is now a richer feeling of community at OLL. We have 2 family events each year and a monthly news letter. In addition the PSA supports the science, art, athletic and after care programs.I urge you to at least take a toour of OLL. I think youll find a welcoming and special school for your family!

As an OLL graduate I have fond memories of my time as a student and the significant role that my elementary school teachers played in establishing my love of learning. As a current parent I have seen my own children excel with the support of dedicated teachers with a love of teaching. My daughter participates in the school choir and speech club and my son participates in the basketball team, science club, and as an altar server in the parish. They both very much enjoy these extra-curricular activities provided by the school. As with any school not everything is perfect, yet the administration continues to work to improve upon the services offered. A parent school association was formed last year with the full support of the administration and faculty and is moving towards the common goal of enhancing the experience of all students at OLL.For families interested in applying I suggest visiting the school for a tour on Touring Tuesdays. For current families, I recommend joining the PSA for their monthly meetings and becoming better acquainted with other parents in the school community who share the same vision of a quality education for their children.Additionally, although Regionalization separated the parish and school, the pastor continues to provide spiritual support for all families including the addition of a bilingual family mass on Sundays at 9 am and the recruitment of students as altar servers in Sunday masses.OLL continues to thrive as the community that many of us fell in love with as kids!
