Great variety of classes. I’m pretty new to the studio, I’ve tried a few classes and enjoyed all even if they were very challenging for me. I’ve attended beginner Breaking, beginner Voguing and beginner House. I think it’s great to have so many choices in one studio, try a few and see which ones clicks for you. I can’t wait to get back into it when my schedule permits again, classes are fun and an amazing workout.

PMT has accomplished the difficult task of creating a studio environment that is both welcoming to beginners and engaging to advanced students. They host a wide range of classes from basic to advanced. This is reflected in the studio’s regular students, some have been dancing their entire lives, some took their first class last week. In class, however, all students are treated equally despite their dance experience. New and beginner students are encouraged by instructors to push through difficult movements and to ask questions when needed. Many instructors even wait outside the studio space for 5-10 minutes, encouraging students to ask them questions about what was done in class or what they can practice at home. It doesn’t take long to realize that the lineup of instructors at the studio genuinely care, not only that you show up to class, but that you have taken something from it and will see improvement in the future. My personal experience at PMT has altered my relationship with dance. Until attending my first class in early June, my exposure to dance had mostly been tied to hip hop; however, at PMT I was encouraged to try other styles, such as jazz, contemporary, house, and so on. Now I consider myself a student of many styles and have seen improvement across the board. I can only thank the wonderfully supportive instructors at PMT for that.Special shoutout to the owners, Pavan and Mica who teach multiple styles every week and have always offered individual attention whenever I would ask. All said, people dance for many reasons, be that exercise, stress relief, or a creative outlet, but I would argue that they keep dancing because of the community. If someone asks me how to get involved in the NYC dance community, it’s simple, I’m sending them to PMT.

From my experience - PMT stands out amongst other dance studios in NYC. Not only do they have exceptional and accessible classes with world class staff but they are welcoming, accepting and cultivate a positive, safe environment for people of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. The staff is alwayskind, communicative, professional and accommodating. I have grown and learned so much as a dancer in just a short amount of time taking classes at PMT and highly recommend to everyone looking to take dance in NYC!

My daughter has been dancing at PMT for 2+ years. This community has been the absolute brightest spot during the pandemic. When everything else fell apart and after school clubs failed to engage students, she had her dance community which was consistent and fun and a real sense of community. This group lifts & builds each other. It all starts with the teachers and staff. They are so dedicated to making sure that the kids keep growing and learning. They go out of their way to keep the studio safe and also accommodate the remote learners. They managed to pull off an in person performance very safely. I am so grateful for this leadership and dedicated staff. Thank you PMT for keeping it going no matter what. You bring so much joy to our family.

I’ve been coming to this studio for the past 5 years. They offer many different classes and very cheap studio space. I never had any problem with booking classes or rentals. Also, we still in pandemic however you don’t have to worry about your safety here. They fallow all the rules, signs on the floor, pre screening etc. I don’t know from where all the negatives comment came form I’ve never seen nobody breaking any rules and I’m there almost everyday.

I can not speak highly enough of Pavan and the team over at PMT Dance. He has elevated my dancing technique dramatically and every session is an all around fun time. Mika teaches my kids who also always have a blast dancing with her. I would recommend PMT to all levels of dancers.

Rented space here for the first time & had a great experience. The studio is extremely clean, quiet, well-lit, & the prices for rental are quite affordable. Most importantly, Pavan, the director, is helpful, courteous, & professional. Terrific.

Terrible school for kids. They shouldn’t and don’t know how to teach kids. Our son loves to dance. Or at least used to before our experience at pmt. they were mean and condescending to a 9 year old. Not a supportive or nurturing environment for boys. I guess that’s why there’s only a few kids enrolled. They simply don’t have the capacity or patience to encourage positive growth. If your kid loves to dance, be careful here. They could extinguish your child’s love for dance and make it a horrible experience. Within just two months our son went from being extremely happy to dance to crying and refusing to go. Such a bummer. There are so many other positive companies in the city. Go elsewhere.

Michele is an excellent dance instructor. She helped us prepare to dance a very difficult Viennese waltz for our wedding in just a few classes, and it worked out very well. We highly recommend her to anyone who needs dance lessons. As long as youre willing to do your part by practicing what she teaches you, she will prepare you very well.

Michele was great, to say the least! My fiance and I went to Michele as a gift for our wedding and were extremely glad for it. Michele is fun to be around and has an extensive knowledge of all styles of dance. If you are in the market for lessons or would like to invest in a fun gift for a couple, dont hesitate to call Michele.

PMT is a place of refuge and one of the most nurturing dance studios Ive ever attended. I went to hip hop classes there for a few months pre-lockdown and really enjoyed taking classes with all of the instructors (particularly DEV & MO, PAVAN, RICH JAMES, AND ALAN WATSON). Theyre a place that actually cares about their students well-being and growth AND theyre still offering classes online during the lockdown AND theyre amazing! Would definitely recommend, both in-person and digitally!

I called to book a studio for Sunday, March 1, 2020 and got 4 different payment instructions, this is very unprofessional.I called in to book Studio C and was told by a female worker that I will be charged on Friday, February 28, 2020, 3 days before my rental unit on Sunday, March 1, 2020.Pavan, initially emailed a wrong client name, wrong credit card information, wrong studio date and time, which is illegal, and can be subject to that client information compromised, identity theft.I was told by Pavan that he is very sorry for sending another patrons name, date, studio and credit card information. Then Pavan said the charging policy has changed to 5 days before studio arrival. Then Pavan said I would be charged on the 25th of February, and I was not, because I called the studio yesterday to process my credit card, and was told by another gentleman, named Mark, that my credit card on file will be charged on Friday, February 28, 2020.Now Pavan contact me on February 26, 2020 saying my card was charged, instead of the 25th as he claimed.I replied, I will pay for my Studio on Friday for Studio C, to book on Sunday, March 1, 2020, from 12 pm - 4 pm; thank you in advance. Pavan then sent three or four berating emails, demeaning my assistant and her ability not to pay on time. I then called up the studio and the whole time a worker by the name of Mark was pretending to be the owner named Pavan. See attached the rude correspondence between the imposter Mark pretending to be Pavan.

The beginner hip hop class Ashley Alfaro is referring to in an earlier review is for BEGINNERS. Aspiring pros have to start somewhere no? Alan Watson is an amazing teacher and so it the rest of the faculty at PMT. I myself have been dancing there for 4 years, been in countless shows and have way more confidence in my dancing technique because of all the teachers there. They make you feel welcome, they help you and above all they TEACH you.

My organization rented for PMT a few times because they were referred to us by a friend. I thought they were great very organized, and professional until Today. I was greated by the most unprofessional disrespectful young man. He had the most poor customer service skills and will only continue to cause the studio to lose clients and customers..Im contacting the studio to make a payment and this kid starts to rattle off all this rhetoric about policies I agreed to. No one contacted me via phone after this verbal assault. Must be their moto to speak Rudely to their customers... VERY DISAPPOINTED AND SHAME ON YOU PMT!!

Great dance studio with down-to-earth instructors and the best prices in town. They have instructors who teach at some of the bigger studios in town that charge a lot more. Beginners will feel much at ease here, as many classes are catered towards beginner/intermediate dancers.
