I wish the Chinese teachers give stronger support system to the Chinese living abroad. You realize that people dont really love each other? I have family in New York, but they never respond. I wonder why the Benevolence Association wont help?

Tuition – Very affordable. It is a non-profit origination.Book – Free for students (pick up from school). Online book and audio book is also available online for review & Practice.Distance Learning – Online Zoom Class available. Teachers are already trained in such learning method. Great to know what my girls are learning in Chinese class.Recommend NY Chinese School to Friend : Yes.My Experience – we are a Cantonese family. We live in Connecticut, about 1 hour 30mins (without traffic) away from China Town. Starts 3 years ago, I drove two of my girls (5 & 7 yrs old) to Chinatown every weekend. It is not easy and never been easy. (they are 8 & 9 yr old now). Its already 3 years, I am happy with the result. Because of the continue learning Chinese, My older girl is interested in Chinese culture, she is now able to speak broken Mandarin & able to Copy the Chinese word (homework) without my help, even able sing Chinese Songs & . Unfortunately, my younger one is not interested, but at least she is able to understand a simple Mandarin. Learning a Language that they don’t speak daily is not easy. KEEP PRACTICE, DON’T GIVE UP.In this Convid Period, school Offer Zoom Class, I was afraid IF the teachers know how manage the students activity (such as back ground noise, student screaming, students not pay attention etc.). my girls started the Online Class from Summer 2020, at first, students does not able to be self-control (its normal). After 2 classes, students used to this Online Learning method. the if the Teachers are already trained in such learning method. Teachers know what they are doing. Great Job ~Thank you for The New York Chinese School Created a platform for Chinese Learning.Greatly appreciated. – Iris

As an alumnus of this school, I can say definitively that this was one of the worst parts of my childhood. I was miserable here.

All my children attend this chinese school since kindergarten for more than 6 years. This school follows a standard academic for each grades with experienced and sincere teachers not like other chinese school. I think they do learn something even though they only attend once a week for 3 hours. They received certificates for graduation and every year they get report cards so you know how well/bad the student does. I am not a strict Asian mom that forces my children to excel in Chinese so having nice teachers are a plus to avoid my children from annoyed or disliked Chinese.

I am a Sakura lin. I am in 2nd grade. I like the class a little. I like it when it is time to learn. I don’t like it when I could not finish my class work. And I also like it when it is snake time. Thank you. From Sakura lin.

The teachers at this school needs to be trained again. Theyre poor at teaching students and pacing was way too fast.

This school have summer school and weekend school to learn chinese. I went to both for 3 years now and I feel like the tuition is to much for the fact that you don’t really learn the amount worth of what you paying but you still learn and there is two session which you have to pay like $300 for each one. Also you will have to take a test for each session at the end of it and there is always a show at the end. The summer school have two parts, the half day and the full day. The full day is not worth your money because it really is just 2 hours of activity that cost a extra $400 I think. The half day is just learning chinese with those free lunches and breakfast from the DOE (basically it’s the free lunch food and breakfast you eat at regular school) and you pay about $300 just for learning chinese and free cold food. Anyways it’s not worth it.

The staffs are not reaponsive with lack of securities. The teachers are not flexible and they are not appropriate for any people who didnt start from kindergarten. It should be categorized based on beginner, intermediate, and advance for each grades but it is not. They are understaff and not as organized as it should given the fact that they have been around for such a long time. Very disappointing 😔.
