This school was really good for me in terms of transportation wise, coming from Brooklyn. I was able to get the full 6 months experience while meeting my amazing classmates, who I now hang out with even after we graduated. They were able to work with my work schedule knowing I work full time. Anything I needed, Jennifer & Ms. Lia were able to help me and accommodate me for anything as long as I communicated. I liked how half of the course is online which works best for me and the other half is in the school doing hands on training. The school is small which makes it a great way to learn individually. Grateful I found this school (recommended by a microblading colleague) and I was able to learn online during the pandemic when I was out of state. I came back to NYC for in person classes, got to meet the teachers and learn from them in a small class setting, where we all got great one-on-one instruction and attention. The staff is lovely and so are the students. The facility is small, but so are the class sizes, so you dont feel cramped. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to further their career, or branch off into a new industry.

Loved the convenience of this school & how they work with your schedule, however the structure is chaos because there isnt any. On a daily basis you come in and dont know what your going to be learning that day or if your going to be going over the same lecture again. If you like organization & structure then this may not be the school for you. However, The teachers are always available whenever you have any questions. Ms. Adrienne is amazing and always shared her real life experience and prepares you for what the industry is really like.

Lia Schorr was my top choice when choosing a school in NY because I was looking for a small intimate class setting and I wanted to learn a classical facial, without the focus on product brands and technology. Lia Schorr is very old school and the education is rooted in anatomical theory and lots of practice. You learn how to perform a classic facial, how to extract without leaving the skin blotchy or red, and Lia Schorr signature massage sequence. What is unique to Lia Schorr is that you start doing facials from day 1 and I felt really confident within my first month. The program goes much more in depth on anatomy with digestion, circulatory and endocrine, which I found interesting. The subjects gets repeated a lot, so there is opportunity for the information to stick.The cons: very small space and it gets crowded very easily, hard to move around and feel comfortable.While there were some good teachers, overall I think the teaching styles could have been improved. Being an industry professional doesnt always make one a good teacher.

Lia Schoor Institute wasnt very thorough. I only attended after I was told I was going to get financial aid and the office worker told me not to worry about it but half way through she told me I couldnt get financial aid. The teachers are great but they basically go off the textbook material and the classes in person were overcrowded but my classmates were awesome. I feel like I didnt learn much because of covid and half of hours were online.

I called today to inquire about the wax technician course and the lady who answered said they were not offering this course at the moment and then hung up on me before I could ask more questions. How rude and unprofessional. It really sets a negative tone. What happened to customer service? I had more questions.

I previous attended this beauty school in 2019 of November and just graduated .The courses were very engaging and informative and fun, only b/c we had some amazing teachers .Ms. Deborah who is no longer a teacher there and ms. Adrienne.They were also professional yet made the classroom entertaining where we was still learning .Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Lia Schorr .She is very rude , and abrasive . She comes off offensive and controllable mood swings . Maybe it has to do with age where she feels she can speak to anyone any type of way and there has been Many times we had some words with each other .If it wasn’t for the teachers and the students I made some bonds with I would of been left this school .Overall , I loved the small classes b/c it was very personal , intimate and easy to comprehend what is being taught . They school is very flexible with your schedule . Im just happy I am done with the courses and the school period , b/c The atmosphere was not pleasant when it came to Lia presence .

I completed my Esthetic Training at Lia Schorr Institute and would say I had a wonderful experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. As a Registered Nurse, I was very surprised by dept and breath of clinical information taught at the school. The training program is not perfectly structured, but the care an personalized attention given to each student, to ensure full understanding is achieved is truly remarkable. The student body and the instructors are a diversity of cultures, which makes it so interesting for learning as suggestions and recommendations that are shared, prepares you to treat all types of skins from various cultures in the real world. This was a great school that worked around my busy work schedule and the location was perfect for me. I appreciated all the one on one attention from the teachers and feel so much more confident in my abilities. I’m an established makeup artist and wanted to add to my credentials with an esthetics license. This program was perfect for me and Lia helped to make it happen.

I would recommend Lia Schorr to any professional that is looking to get into the beauty industry. Her staff is very understanding and willing to work with you. She has over 40 years of experience in the field and a lot of people in the beauty industry knows her company. Her staff and instructors are knowledgeable and want people to learn.

I chose this school because of the flexibility. I was attending as a fulltime student & when I had to get a job for family reasons, Ms. Lia worked with me and I was able to came on the weekends. The school is a small setting which is wonderful because the teacher do pay attention to everyone. When it comes to the school work you dont have to rush. The teachers make sure you understand what they are teaching before you move on to the next subject. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn to do waxing, facials and beginner makeup.

I definitely would recommend this school to anyone who wants to get into the field of Esthetics. The classes were very in depth about each and every subject that was taught. The teachers were great, and my favorite part of it all was that all the girls i was in class with became my friends and we helped each other out when things got tough. Definitely would do it all again if i could!!!

I am from Ireland and heard about Lia Schorr School through a friend. As I was living in NY I taught I would look into it. I took the basic makeup course and the bridal course both taught by Heidi. I found both courses very interesting and learned a lot. I would highly recommend Lia Schorr School. Loads of opportunity do do a variety of beauty courses .

I am a student at the lia Schorr Institute. I am in a laser hair removal class. I absolutely love it ! My teacher Effie is so knowledgeable and the hands on portion is very effective. Effie is best teacher I ever had. Lia is the owner of school and she has been very helpful from start of program to the very end. She cares about her students. You should absolutely come to this school for esthetics and advanced esthetics.

I was googling the best schools in NY and I found Lia Schorr Institute. I signed up for the Basic Makeup course and I just finished and received my certification. I am planning to register to the Bridal Course with the same instructor that I had for Basic Makeup with Ms. Heidi Reid. I learned a lot of new skills that i am excited to use. Ms. Heidi is wonderful and very experienced ! I recommend this school for everyone that is interested in make-up and beauty.
