My 14 year old daughter and I attended a Sushi night here and really enjoyed it. During these Covid-19 times (January 2021), it was a bit of a challenge but all in attendance word masks and the awkwardness went away after a short time as we all just enjoyed being creative and learning.Bring your appetite and be sure to know in advance that should make as much as you want because you can take home the leftovers.I would highly recommend this as a date night opportunity in the Orlando area!

Absolutely the best cooking class date night ever. Food was amazing, staff were professional and engaging. They accommodated a diet modification with care. The recipes were for both the novice and established cook. We both learned so much. Would definitely do this again.

I think this is a fantastic thing to do for fun but should not be taken seriously as a cooking course (team building, anniversary activity, first date, spice up a boring week etc). It’s the equivalent of painting potteryThe few people who have mentioned youre paying for an experience rather than a course are correct. I went with a friend of mine and would chalk the whole thing up as “something different to do” rather than a genuine cooking class. Respectfully I learned to read a recipe off a piece of paper which I could have done at home. We were part of a number of couples and each couple had a recipe. Ours consisted of a Trifle which ironically was called out by another reviewer so there wasn’t much to cook or learn. They do email you all recipes covered in the course though. You’re also cooking at the same time as others despite our course including appetizers, sides and desserts. So as we were cooking we’d have to stop to go look at what others had made, eat it and then go back to cooking. I would also agree that Marcy is a very specific kind of personality type and can see that she could mesh and not mesh well with some.I also don’t think they had the necessary equipment for what some of the recipes call for or enough equipment. Types of pans and tools matter when it comes to cooking and what is provided is most likely there only because it’s easy to clean which we ended up having to do for some of the dishes. For those who want to genuinely learn. You’ll get more out of this by staying home, picking a challenging recipe online - use the course money on ingredients and invite some friends over for a cooking party instead

Attended a while ago, just now getting around to review. If you are looking for a real class where everyone watches the instructor and learns the same things together you wont find it here, or anywhere here in Florida apparently. The norm is to hand you a recipe, tell you to run around and find everything and then cook it and the leadership will Walk around and watch, offer suggestions. That is not a class to me, I can do that in my own kitchen.. whatever happened to the old days of real classes and real teaching????

The cooking class we went to sounded like a great idea. They had all of these courses selected but unfortunately we were only able to cook two items. The “chef” that we had I would not consider a chef. The recipes they provided were not detailed at all. She kept telling us what to do and saying to ignore the recipe or say whatever it’s not on there. The most upsetting part was that we were supposed to have Sea Bass (the main reason) I selected this class but instead we had tilapia. I saw the fish come out and said that’s Tilapia and the woman we had lied. Another “chef” came by and said it looks like you’re having tilapia. Our “chef” was also not accommodating and really didn’t know how to answer questions on how to add different substitutes into meals. She also announced time for appetizers while my group was still cooking which just didn’t seem fair. In all honesty I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I would recommend buying items at a grocery store and following a list. I do it all the time and it’s more relaxing and I learn more teaching myself.

That was a terrible experience! I choose this place to have a date night for me and my boyfriend. The name of the event was “ Parisian date night” and let me tell you , people were cooking pasta with chicken , quesadillas, etc nothing related to France. The owner of the place was very rude and unprofessional was making rude comments all the time and being very negative . The food ended up being horrible too. We left hungry and upset !! Time wasted, money wasted and only negative emotions left. We had to leave early because it was so bad! People please avoid this cooking class!

This place doesnt even deserve one star. Marcy, the owner is rude and she doesnt teach you anything about cooking. She slaps a recipe on the table and tells you to follow it. My boyfriend and I attended date night along with 9 other couples, one of which was on a real first date and I felt so bad for them. It was a very awkward atmosphere where most of the couples stood around in silence staring at each other. Two of the couples ended up walking out because of the extremely poor experience. There was no lively demonstration by Marcy at all. She rolls around in her wheelchair yelling at her staff.Marcys staff is overworked and personally told me that they dislike working for her because of her negative attitude and consistently barking orders without any kind of appreciation.I wouldnt waste your money going here at all. I dont get where all the great reviews come from... They must be personal friends of hers.

What a fabulous experience!I have wanted to take cooking classes for a while - largely to encourage my husband to embrace cooking . I stumbled upon Truffles and Trifles and its the perfect place to go for some great classes. The first thing that struck me when we walked into the store was what a beautiful kitchen it is, your eye is immediately drawn to the large kitchen class area which looks like something from the Food Network . I think I could sleep in my kitchen if it looked like that.We took the sushi class, there are 12 people in our class, and the first thing we started working on was prepping all of the ingredients to prepare the different types of sushi. It picked up pretty quickly and we all got a chance to cook, try/learn a new technique and, finally, taste our creations. The instructor and other staff were incredibly helpful and friendlyAnother great thing? Parking. Truffles and Trifles has a large parking lot behind the store and several parking lots near the shop, as well as quite a few spaces along Smith Street.I know I will definitely be taking more classes here! And the class did its job - when we got home, my culinary-challenged hubby prepared a sushi night that weekend for the whole family by himself, with me offering help in cutting the veggies only. Thank you, Truffles and Trifles!

Had the most wonderful time cooking night. We booked a private session for our work family and had the most amazing time. We learned new cooking techniques, everyone pitched in , we drank , we ate, we laughed . The best part was sharing stories with Miss Marci and Rasheeda. Both very sweet ladies. Thank you ladies so much for our experience today. I can tell you both truly enjoy what you do. This was my first time tjwre but will not be my last.

These classes are more of an experience night than hard core cooking classes. The food is always fantastic. If you like adult beverages, you are allowed to bring your own, tea and water are provided (we showed up to the first class not knowing this). My husband and I have been to three classes so far and all have been enjoyable. The class is split into teams after sitting down and having everyone introduce themselves. Each team (usually 4-6 people) does 2-3 recipes, guided by the instructors (2-3 instructors cover all the stations). The level of teaching depends on how hard your recipes are, some recipes are easier than others and dont need as much teaching (or time). The instructors are always friendly, so be sure to speak up and ask if you dont know what you are doing and they will guide you through it. The food is served buffet style at the end once all the teams have completed their dishes. They have staff in the back that take care of all the dirty dishes and cleanup. The classes are meant to be relaxed, friendly, and social, and Marci and Rashida have good stories. So if you are looking for technical cooking classes, this isnt the place, but you will learn plenty of good tips and have great recipes to bring home and impress your friends and family. Id also recommend having a small snack before you arrive as generally it takes ~2ish hours for all the cooking to be complete, although some classes there will be an appetizer served (once the team makes it).

Had an amazing morning today at the Truffle and Triffles Macaron Baking Class. The instructor is so very knowledgeable in so many typing of cooking and baking techniques. I will be attending the French Cooking class with her next and the the Sushi Class. So happy that Central FL has a wonderful place to take cooking classes - for anyone or a great Mother-Daughter or Father-Daughter outing, Date Night, or group special events. We just need enough ppl for a Gluten Free class and it would be perfect.

My fiance purchased a class for me for Christmas. We went and learned to make macarons. We had a GREAT time! Our instructor was Rashida, who was wonderful. Not only was she incredibly knowledgable and a wonderful instructor, she has a wicked sense of humor. It took us about 5 minutes to realize she was hilarious, (We are a little slow on the uptake and her humor is deadpan) and we laughed the rest of the night.I love that we walked away feeling confident that we could make the macarons.

We had a great time with this unique experience. We brought a friend from out of town and it was a non-stop celebration that we will remember forever. All of the food was fantastic. We got to take home all the recipes and will definitely be cooking a lot of them again. The ribs were a favorite tonight. We also learned amazing little tricks that will make cooking easier at home.Marci is great and so friendly. Rashida worked directly with us. What a professional! She was so good and attentive with the cooking. More than that she was super friendly and really funny. This was a great night that we will definitely do again.

This was such a let down and I am so upset at how much money we spent on this. We did a private event here and paid around $70 per person. Every couple had 1 dish to make. The experience consisted of our couple just building a trifle (no cooking involved at all) and then eating after with the group. Even more irritating was that they were not prepared and we had ingredients missing in our station, so we didnt prepare the actual recipe. There was no lesson or cooking involved, and I felt like we contributed to an ok meal in the end. I do not know how the normal classes are done but I do not suggest booking a private event, unless you dont want to learn much or do some cooking. Just a bummer.

This was a complete waste of money. The host was very rude to me,she sat most of the night without engaging with the class. She has you come in,grab an apron (which she didnt tell me about until a fellow classmate said something),then you sit so she can talk for a few minutes,As she is standing there she gives you NOTHING...No excitement,no flair,Just Boredom...She has you cook her recipes (which arent that great-they could use seasoning & love)...All the while she is sitting drinking wine!! I was thoroughly disgusted with such a waste. My team of ppl cooked a clam risotto which of course I added seasoning to because hey..she didnt walk the room, she didnt teach anything...It was an expensive not to do in winter park. You essentially are paying to cook your own date night dinner, while bringing your own wine..._Which could be great IF it wasnt coined as a cooking class. Heck I taught one of my team members how to chop onions.. So Dont Waste your time or money unless you just want the experience of cooking your own date night meal...👎🏽👎🏽
