My son loves this school, and this is his 2nd year. Not only does he participate in ROTC but he will be taking advantage of dual enrollment this year. Its a great school, they have great programs and fabulous teachers...

Only some teachers are good at what they do. Mainly because the majority of them do not know how to actually teach. Most teachers quit halfway through the year and leave you to burn in your own personal hell. Majority of the students are complete burnt out morons. They are so idiotic and illiterate. The principal is too sweaty. Honestly just disappointed in OCPS.

They dont care if you get bullied, the teachers hate their jobs and quit mid way through the year or sooner, Poor communication between staff, unnecessary phone rule that isnt excuseable even if its an emergency, they treat the teens like cattle and they force you into accelerated classes even if you cant complete them because it puts more money in their pocket... Oh also if you fail 1 test they wont tell you until youre about to graduate so then you cant graduate or have to graduate late without being in the celebration. Also they frequently yell at students for being happy about graduating because youre just suppose to act mature aka dont smile or talk just sit there and accept it. Its basically a prison and the only thing that keeps me from dropping out is dual enrollment since colleges treat you like a human being.

Like the school but they must pick their battle wisely. For example the give kids dress code just bc they feel like it and sometimes is not even dress code. I have been or called the school twice to fix that bc it does affect the students school record. They never return phone calls and Im thinking Im going to the district school department in downtown . Students cannot use cellphone which Im OK with that but if I call to leave a message for my kids to contact me they neve give them the message It happened once and it was extremely important(emergency). If you ask me they are not ready to have more students and they need more training.

I was only there for a few months but it was a good school I made tons of good friends there

Deans suck teachers are OK the only high school that i know of that will give you hell for having one bad grade and when you try to bring it up during your lunch break you get yelled at for skipping lunch. counselors are stubborn if your in an ap class that you didnt ask for they make you stay in it because there greedy with money. and even in a regular class dont even ask to switch itll take too much of there time and to much trouble to do 5 minutes of work. again with to much work it will take your counselor about a month to accept you into an online class for flvs.

This is my first year at east river and it is the worst school ive been to. here at east river they do not address or report threats made from a student against another student and put u in un needed classes then refuse to change u when you ask them the second day of school and when u ask again at the half year make they tell u they cant and that u should have done it at the beging of the year. There is definaly a reason why this is a C school. If u love and respect your children u wont have then come here.

I hate it they suspended my license and I try and bring in my excuse notes the staff is very disrespectful principal is a dush bag mrs strawn is rude and try’s to get u in trouble for petty stuff
