It was awful when I went there. They dont let you bring your own lunch. They dont let you throw up when you have to at nap time. My friend got in trouble for that. 2 NICE TEACHERS!! TWO!!!!! They also blamed you for doing something you didnt do. They yelled for no reason. One time a kid wasnt talking and a teacher told him to stop. He said he wasnt talking and the teacher said you did now. I could go on forever with this terrible school. Go somewhere else. The staff are only nice to the parents, but once they are gone it was straight back to yelling The two things I liked where there mac an cheese and their corn dogs.

I worked here for about 6 months. The owners are cheap and the managers are sassy, but I have never worked at a daycare (I have worked at several due to moving) where the staff cares so much about the children. They stay on schedule, try to enhance learning the best they can, encourage socialization, and are cleanly. Would definitely recommend. There’s no other childcare center in the area I would rather put my child in (though I’m told it’s a little pricey compared to some others in the area).

My daughter attended here for all of VPK, before-and-after school care during Kindergarten, and for Summer Camp. They do such a wonderful job here. The teachers are very conscientious, fantastic with the kids, and you can just tell that they love what they do. There were some days when my daughter had to be there for almost 11 hours because of our work schedules and when I was finally able to pick her up she was having so much fun she wasnt ready to leave. They even bussed her to and from school when she was school-aged despite being the only kid on the whole bus that year. I knew the owner was taking a loss on it but they did it anyways. I dont think they will swing it this time around which would be the only reason we might have to change this year but for all the other reasons and more it shows they are great people. They are also one of the only places that do 6am drop-offs (believe me I called around.) They do tons of fun stuff and outings during Summer Camp too. I highly recommend this place.

My daughter have been at this Day Care going on three years now. The staff there is very friendly and responds to parents concerns in a timely and professional manner. I moved my daughter from Primrose because she regressed after being there for six months.My daughter is reading complete sentences at four years old, she still struggles with her writing skills but I am sure that will come in time.As a parent I had some concerns but never about whether my daughter was being cared for and they were immediately addressed and remedied.I love that they genuinely care for the kids and foster a learning environment.

My firstborn started at Star Child Academy Waterford Lakes when she was four months old. She continued all the way through and once she started elementary school, she went into before and afterschool care. My nearly four-year son has been there since he was eight months old. So for nearly 11 years we have been going to Star Child Waterford Lakes in one capacity or another. My children have been lucky enough to have some of the same teachers, even though they are years apart in age. If it wasnt for the great start my daughter had, I dont think she would have started off so well in kindergarten. The teachers are very attentive and they truly care about the kids in their classroom and want nothing but to see them succeed. Beth, the Director, is a caring and compassionate person who cares about all the kids who are in the facility. Star Child Academy Waterford Lakes has a great curriculum, which they closely follow, while paying attention to the individual needs of each child. They take the time to learn and understand what makes each child the individual they are and encourage their strengths and work on their weaknesses. I thoroughly recommend anyone looking for a daycare to consider Star Child Academy Waterford Lakes. I for one, will be sorry when its time for my youngest to move on to elementary school but Ill be thankful for the educational foundation provided to him at his daycare. 10/10 all the way for SCAWL.

A few months ago, myself, my husband and my 2 year old requested a tour of the facility because we were preparing to relocate to Orlando. At first they seemed really nice and welcoming on the phone .... until we showed up. When we got there, the lady at the front desk seemed disgusted with us and was very insistent that there was a crazy long waiting list (3+ months at best!), even though I was told on the phone it was just a few weeks. She even refused a tour, saying she didnt have time & tried to turn us off with the price, even though my husband and I make more than enough money to send him there & were actually sending him to the Goddard school in our previous state, so we value quality over anything else. Granted we were dressed comfortably and casual (jeans, tee-shirt, sneakers ... presentable but not business casual or designer clothes) but knowing these people judge a book by its cover & will do whatever they can to discourage a family if they think they are low income, Im happy we dodged a bullet bc it makes me wonder how children there are actually being treated when they dont have to put on a show for the guardians if they play favorites & discriminate ... and to me, even if they were the cheapest place around, it wouldnt be worth it.

Way too expensive for terrible babysitting. A monkey can be a better teacher than the people who work here. Save yourself the money, time, and energy. Look for a more efficient facility to take your child because you will not find that here. Hopefully this will save someone the headache.

My kid and I liked it. Staff there are so professional and friendly. It worths each penny. You will never regret.

This place does not provide accurate daily documentation of what your child did for the day. They run copies and sign off the exact same for every child. So if your child is not adjusting or having any problems you will know. I guess this is due to how many kids they cram into a classroom. When and if your child is having a bad day do not expect them to maintain professionalism, understanding, or any tolerance for a toddler. The director Beth has the worst manners. The lack of patience and compassion that the staff and director demonstrated to my son was totally unacceptable. I see why he begin to cry before getting dropped off to daycare. I urge parents to continue to search other daycares and follow your gut. I can only imagine how they really treated my son. I definitely will not recommend this undertrained facility/staff to anyone’s family.

I moved my daughter there in January after two months of being there we can see the obvious change in her attitude, vocabulary, academics and overall growth.Watching the cameras in the morning when the children have free play and see that its not just the children playing, the teachers are just as involved from letting the children brush their hair, ride their backs, cover their faces with blankets and just have fun its great to see.I moved my daughter from a very prominent daycare that the reviews across the board was excellent but after four months of having her there she regressed in the things she used to do before getting there. Her vocabulary was not being developed, she started becoming noticeably dependent again in oppose to being the little miss independent that she was growing into.For the record Ive read some of the other reviews and saw where people wrote that the director is rude from my personal experience I have not encountered anyone rude, they are all playful with the kids, and all respectful.As for the director I had an issue with someone not being responsive while I was trying to sign my daughter up for a program being offered there, I brought it to Ms. Beths attention and in approximately twenty minutes I got a response from the individual. As far as I can see she is all about ensuring the kids and parent receive the highestt level of service and care.

Dont recommend. If your child has any disabilities (hearing or vision impaired) please send them elsewhere. And I spoke with a former co-worker who said 3 families left for the same reason.

My daughter went here for a year. Honestly looking at the negative reviews on here I cant relate to the things they are saying. My 2 year old who hardly talked and wasnt potty trained never stopped talking after going here for a couple weeks and they had her potty trained after about a month. We moved to California but to this day when we look at daycare centers for our younger children I cant help but compare them to star child academy.
