I am African American. I needed my daughters hair and nails done for a wedding at the last minute from a cancellation. I called, I asked if there was any one available to work ethnic hair. I was grateful they were willing to do the job last minute. Upon arrival I was charged for the service that were even given. I was also told on the phone they would be able to do nails as well but was told at school they may not be able to get the nails or pedicure done. The young lady began doing my daughters hair which is curly not hard to handle. She proceeded to wash it and blow dry it. I explained she needed high heat or it would come out frizzy with no oil. It needed oil. Next she was using a fine tooth comb to work out her hair. She pulled out my childs hair. The instructor was rude and when I tried to stay and work with them she became more rude. I grabbed my daughter said thank you and was even argued with with the refund. My child walked out with her hair looking like this 😭. Run DO NOT GO HERE .

I went in for a perm knowing exactly what I wanted and the color rods I have always used but Kristen used a different size and it didnt turn out as I wanted. I said I wanted a very tight perm and walked out with a very loose perm. She was to dye my eyebrows and they looked exactly the same when I walked out.I told her/him not sure what pronoun to use, that I wanted them darker and wastold the next client was there and I wouldhave to reschedule and pay again for an incomplete eyebrow tint.Today I went back in for a different service with a scheduled appointment with Rebecca, I arrived 15 minutes early and my stylist was already working on someone else. I was turned away because I wouldnt have the same person Kristen who wouldnt listen to what the client communicated and did her own thing the last time. Im not going to trust her to color my hair the way I want either.I understand this is a school but the first thing they should be teaching is to listen to your client and get a clear understanding of what service they want.

I moved here a few months ago and I havent found anybody to do my hair here and so I went there to get my hair done and Marilyn I think is her name did my hair. She did a really good job. I asked her had she every done ethnic hair and she no and that I kind of intimidated her! I told her dont be nervous, its just hair. but for it to have been her 1st time doing Ethnic hair, she did a really good job on mine. So I told her since she did such a good job I would come back every week to get it done by her! It did take slightly longer than what I wanted, however, I told her for next time I will show you exactly how I like it done and we can get it riight.Also, I came back the next day and got a facial by Kylie, I think was her name! and OMG she literally put me to sleep. It was amazing. Ive already booked another appt. with her for next week as well.!

Went for a pedicure: When you enter you a greeted by ladies in the front desk who make you PAY UPFRONT. Extremely rude. After they make you wait in an area where there aren’t enough chairs. Half of the staff aren’t wearing actual mask coverings. They are see through masks with diamonds and HOLES only for show they are “wearing” one. Quite upsetting if you tell me especially everything going on. Other staff masks hanging down on their chin. Okay after I got a sweet student who was very nice with her instructor everything was fine. However another instructor who was a cosmo showed up EXTREMELY RUDE. Practically judged the designed I was getting. Saying she “hated doing that” it was NOT her feet getting done and she was NOT the one doing it. No need for comments. That instructor somewhat yelled at the instructor who was with the student I had. Quite unprofessional. Over all not the best experience. Staff very unprofessional, to make it worse there is staff outside smoking and vaping during their break. Not a good look for the school. The student I had was very nice so was her teacher but besides that every other interaction was extremely unprofessional and very rude. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SERVICE IF I COULE GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD.

It seems like some people get people with natural talent here but I did not. I had the worst hair cut of my life here. I typically like to give people the benefit of the doubt but there is no excuse for what happened. I asked for a simple reshape and to thin out the thicker parts of my hair. I have gone to schools before and had great experiences, so its not even the fact I went to a school. The girl cutting my hair only thinned my hair and she hacked away at it. I was left with half inch to one inch chunks of hair all over my head. There were two supervisors sitting there just watching her hack away. As I noticed what was happening I tried, politely, to tell her she was taking too much and where she was cutting was going to stick up because of my colics. She said she knew what she was doing so I tried to trust her. Luckily I found someone to fix it. I plan to contact Redken, because Im sure they will not be happy with what is happening at their school. The pictures show me with a just air dried due which is my usual, but I worked really hard to pick down the hair where the colic is. The hair dresser is showing the one inch chunks of hair all over my head.

Went in for a Tour, I was interested in taking a cosmetology course there because of the flexibility of the schedules . I emailed them a question weeks ago and NEVER got a response. I guess they dont care for potential students. Go to Paul Mitchell.

If you want to get your hair done here do a big favor and SAVE UP. The hairstylist who did my hair was extremely rough and left cuts in my scalp from scratching too hard. I had to call the next day due to my scalp hurting, but they couldn’t do anything. Just save up and get your hair professionally done.

Have been going here on and off for a few years, today will be my last time. Honestly the girl who was doing my partial weave had NO idea what she was doing. Despite one mistake after another, the instructor didn’t watch her close enough (until the end when she realized this chick needed HELP) and every time coming back from her rounds would tell her to stop, correct her (in Spanish, like I couldn’t blatantly see what was wrong) then walk away for her to make another mistake. I asked her to towel dry and not blow dry my hair. It was a hot day and I was already 3.5 hours deep into this nightmare. “Ok you’re good to go” (the most she said to me this entire time) then I wrung my hair out in a huge puddle on the floor. “Can I get a towel so I can do this myself?” Every step irritated me so I will not be coming back. Oh yeah the whole back of my neck was stained dark from color added, no towel or foil, just wet hair covered in dye flat against my neck the whole time. Had to rewash when I get home. Bleach overprocessed on my hair, so now it is dry and brittle. So sad.

Marvetta is the goddess of my hair now! Very friendly folk there with great service at a reasonable price. To be honest, with the work they do one would not know or believe it is a school. Thanks again Marvetta!

I get it they are students who are LEARNING! I went in for a hair color(light brown) and came out with a copper tone like reddish color I dont understand how you can go wrong with a light brown 1st you bleach than add light brown mfg!! oh and the Teacher Maggie was rude didnt even speak directly to me or even acknowledge the fact I was there.waste of my time. Really bad serviceSamantha did not even know what the hell she was doingWILL NOT BE RETURNING VERY DISSAPOINTED!

I had a facial here once and it was amazing! I was upset that day because they had to cancel my pedicure but I shrugged it off and had a wonderful facial. Recently I scheduled a facial, mani, and pedi for a vacation coming up and called 2 times to confirm my appt after I originally scheduled it because they called and left me a message saying I would need to reschedule. But both times I called back they confirmed I could still have all my services as well as my sister in law’s who was coming with me. Again on BOTH phone calls they confirmed all services. I called back today to just confirm one last time and the girl I spoke with said they only had my facial on the books and the girl they had my nail services scheduled with was not going to be there and that for some reason the two prior people I had spoken to somehow couldn’t see that on the schedule book and confirmed my appointment both times. Beyond frustrating!!!!!! I was looking forward to a day of self pampering and instead I’m left completely irritated and let down. They need to get their scheduling together!!!!!!!

I come here every month to get my roots colored and sometimes also for a haircut and eyebrow wax. Great results & prices every time. For $20 bucks a month I keep the grays away & keep my brows manicured - that price even beats a box color DIY job. They also have convenient evening appt hours. This is my go to place, I highly recommend it. Remember this a beauty school with students and the prices and front desk customer service reflect that. There are plenty of times the students could have been more competent in customer service and professional presentation( while booking appointments)-- but the hair results and cheap prices still make it a good deal. So if you dont go in with too much expectation you will find a great bargain!

Amanda is UH-mazing! I got the back facial, and when I left it was like she took every tension out. The facial was wonderful too, but the back facial was worth every penny & more!

On.my birthday April 6th my aunt had made us appointments to get a microdermal Facial! I have never in my life had such a wonderful experience with a facial before. And my aunt pays alot for hers. We decided to go here. And my aunt said this was the best shes ever had. I had Rochelle. I fell asleep and snored lol. Walked out of there feeling more relaxed then ever. She was worth the $10 tip and I plan on seeing her again. My Aunt was in pressed as well. She will be coming back too. Love this school.

Made an appt. for my daughter for a spiral perm, waited a week for this, showed up 10 mins early. i.e fulfilled customer responsibility. Met at the desk with do you have an appt.? Yes. Well were not taking anymore people today because of a plumbing problem. Gee, can I ask why you didnt call us? Ummm we dont have a lot of numbers. Very disappointed in staff, no expression of regret, no professionalism. We believe our guardian angels intercepted and blessed us. If this is the leadership I feel for the students. If this is a student, shame on the leadership.

I have graduate not that long ago and they help you around your work and you can do days and nights or after noons I honestly love this school Bonnie Maggie Lora char and mel are the best teachers there I love them very much and have help me through a lot of stuff. Redken IAS the best school out their you wont regret it 💕

I paid $56 for a full foil highlight and my hair was actually darker ash blonde and roots still showing when she was done. Ive never ever been anywhere where they couldnt figure out how to bleach my hair. I refused to pay but was told I had to pay for supplies used even though my hair looked terrible and she didnt do what I asked. They offered a redo which was nice but no thanks. Worst highlight ever. Make sure if you want to be really blonde you let them know as Ill have to wait now to put any kind of highlights in so my hairs not damaged. You also pay in advance for services now I see why. My thoughts are if a student totally messes up your hair and it looks worse than when you came in you shouldnt have to pay for that, I regret paying anything now!!!
