I just joined this Dojo and I really like coming to learn here with professor Ted and the other coaches. The people are super friendly to new people like me and there are a few guys that can really roll hard with you if you want. Come for a free class and see if you like it. That is what I did. They even let me borrow a GI for the free class.

Professor Ted is a wealth of knowledge and technique. I learned so much both about jiu jitsu techniques and lifestyle. He is also a positive role model for my daughter whom I enrolled into next level jiu jitsu as well. She is being taught more than just jiu jitsu. She is learning essential life skills as well. We have tried numerous academies and dojos but what made us stick to next level was the perfect balance of the family and competition atmosphere. Theres a little something for everyone. She loves it, I love it, our whole family loves it.

I train near Baton Rouge, Louisiana but I train consistently and for competition at Casillas BJJ. I came into town to visit my wife’s family and I randomly selected this school to come and train a couple times. I contacted Professor Stickel and he told me to come by. Not only did I get quality instruction, great roles, but he stayed and chatted with me just to find out about me as a person. When I inevitability come back to Katy, I will come by again. He didn’t charge me, he stated he was happy to give his students a new test.

My boys have only attended 6 classes, but we are already in love Next Level. The owners are welcoming and helpful. My boys aren’t just learning technical skills, but life lessons. We look forward to spending many more hours at the gym!

My 17 year old daughter wanted to explore a self defense art and we decided to do it together. I felt like just a few self defense classes wouldn’t prepare her as much as learning a method over a longer expanse of time. I’m 45 (female) and neither of us have had any experience in Jui Jitsu or martial arts or ANY training remotely similar...meaning we walked in with no skills. Next Level was recommended from friends who had younger students in the program with positive experiences. I can vouch as a newbie, Professor Ted and his coaches are not only knowledgeable and precise, but able to coach and teach at any level. I am clumsy and inconsistent, but learning Juijitsu under professor Ted Stickle and his coaches has been fun and encouraging. Every time I show up I’m reminded I don’t have to be perfect to learn something new, it’s all a process. It’s been a fun art to learn!!! Highly recommend.

Professor Ted is an amazing coach and teacher. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a complicated self defense martial art and professor Ted breaks each move down and seamlessly integrates it into the next technique. My kids have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Professor Ted Strikel for several years now. My son and daughter stated with him when the were 3 & 5 in a kids class and are now training with him at 7 & 9. It is evident that he loves what he does by his patience, passion and care he has for all his students. I recently started the adults class at 42 to lose weight and get more active. To add to the experience the members are like family. We have built good friendships here and in the Jiu Jitsu community. It has been challenging, humbling, and most of all its fun! I would recommend Next Level Jiu Jitsu to any one looking to help teach kids life lessons, exercise, and learn a valuable skill. All adults too!

Amazing staff, very friendly. Everyone there, the parents and children, made it such a comfortable place as soon as you walk in the doors. Highly recommend it for people looking to join a friendly, open, tight knit community. Young-ins cant wait to go back!

These folks are great with the Kids and very knowledgeable in JiuJitsu. Love what Martial Arts does for the children... Highly recommend them.

Professor Ted has been teaching our children Jiu-Jitsu for 4 years. He taught them solid fundamentals and now continues to add many advanced techniques. He teaches a holistic Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle that goes way beyond the mat and spans into areas of self-confidence, self-disciple, individual accountability, leadership and many other core values (often forgotten by others) essential for success in life. His teaching methods work! Our children are very successful in competitions and have won National and Pan American IBJJF Championships. Professor Ted has gone to nearly all of their tournaments on his own personal time to coach and give the kids extra confidence. Even after 4 years of continuous BJJ training with Professor Ted, they still beg us to go to class each night. We highly recommend Professor Ted and Next Level Jiu-Jitsu!

Love the professor, love the students, love the school. My kids and I all do it. Its like having another family. The learning and workouts are excellent.

My sons teacher called my husband and I in for a conference, our boys grades were starting the 3rd grade roller coaster. We went to the pediatrician and he was diagnosed inattentive ADHD. My husband and I were looking for alternatives to medication and decided to give BJJ a try. We started BJJ in February. My husband and I noticed the boy loved it and was good! He wanted to attend spring break camp, so we signed him up. Not only did his skill improve, but his confidence skyrocketed. He felt so good about himself. Two weeks after spring break, our sons teacher called us back in for another conference. The work she showed us looked like a completely different childs assignments. Even his handwriting improved. It was AWESOME!! I love knowing we found a way to help our boy gain strategies to help him become more focused, want to be better than he was the day before, and to continue pushing for excellence with all aspects of his life. I truly feel Next Level BJJ family and Professor Ted is owed the credit! Thank you for making our family run more smoothly!

I spent several years training in a different martial art, and have learned first hand the difference between poor instructors, average instructors and great instructors. Great instructors coach for the love of the discipline and to contribute to the growth, development, safety and values of their students. Ted Stickel of Next Level Jiu Jitsu is a great instructor! He cares.

We love Professor Ted. Great facility and love the fact that he takes the time to teach young children skills they can use both in and out of the studio. Have heard wonderful things about their adult classes as well.

Great family place for beginners to advanced. Professor Ted is a third degree black belt in BJJ. He is amazing with children and he creates winners. I started jiu jitsu at 53 years old and love it. Never a dull moment. The added bonus is I have met some amazing people from all walks of life. The mats are clean, Professor is always on the mat and eager to teach. You can tell he loves what he does.

Spacious, has showers as well as top notch sports performance training. Add that to the world class jiu jitsu instruction and youve got a winner!!!
