My granddaughter class was shutting down for 10 Days due to someone came positive of COVID-19.Now daycare are asking for full payment for those days they close due to the incompetence of keeping our kids safe. We have to pay a family member to take care of my granddaughter all this days. This daycare are taking advantage of the this situation. Why we have to pay when they close the daycare all this time.

We have been bringing our two children, ages one and three, to this Bundle Of Joy location on cottage Street for two years now.The staff are loving, kind, and attentive to our children. Outdoor play is a great factor in their program. They also offer singing classes which our daughter has enjoyed.

We love Bundle! Both of my children have attended Bundle of Joy Hermitage and I couldnt be more pleased with their experiences. My oldest was incredibly well-prepared for kindergarten and I have no doubt that my son will have a similar experience. Theyve gone through from the infant/toddler room all they way through pre-k and we have had wonderful teachers along way. The staff at Bundle are so caring and supportive - my children feel like Bundle is their second home. Its a rare gem!

Our daughter has been at the BoJ Cottage St (Lakeside) for about a year now! She started in the infants room and has moved up twice, and now is with the toddlers. We love the teachers and have had a pretty positive experience.Pros- The app is great for keeping track of what your kid is doing throughout the day. The infant room looks like its been renovated or something within the past 5 years and is definitely more updated than the rest of the rooms. This is comforting given that your 12 week olds first experience in a daycare is the nicest room. One of the teachers has been here for like 20 years, which also is a good sign. The classrooms have decently small ratios which is nice, and they definitely get to know your child right away and love on them.-Food and snack is provided once your child is eating table foods - this is a huge time and stress saver! Of course if you want to pack your kids own lunch you can do that as well.-They use our cloth diapers. This is important to us for less waste and weve never had an issue.-They give back to the community during the holidays and raise money for local charities.-There are many activities to do for older kids. They offer summer camps and more.-The curriculum in the infant room and toddler room (the cruisers room in between mainly just plays a bunch) is great. It is exciting to see my child learn and know that she enjoys circle time.Cons- Typical things like sometimes dirt on the floor or changing station or toys, but whenever Ive brought it up to staff its been handled quickly.-Im unsure about the quality of food - my daughter definitely seems to have some of the food go right through her versus when shes eating fresh food with us at home.-I think the rest of the building is a bit dated and could use an upgrade. As someone with a child with lung issues, it would make me feel a bit more comfortable.-You interact the most with the teachers of course, and they are pretty receptive to any feedback you may have. The administrative staff is nice, but sometimes there is an issue with communication. For example, when we moved to the toddler room, we were given a schedule of what they do in the class, and that had toileting/potty training on it. I was excited, since we plan on potty training out 19 month old soon. When I mentioned it to the teacher, she said they do not do that here and they dont have a potty. Why not update it?-Also, when we started we were asked for our childs immunization forms. We havent been asked for an updated one since. I was reading on the Department of Social Services website that daycare facilities can get fined if they dont have all of the childrens up to date medical/immunization records on file, and the fact that we havent been asked made me a little sketched out that we probably werent the only one. Our daughter has had all of her shots, but someone could easily be in her classroom that didnt have them up to date. I brought this up to the administrative staff, and they said oh yes if you have them please bring them in to us! Well, how am I supposed to know this if weve never been asked?Im sure its very difficult to run a daycare institution, and that some things take a bigger priority. However, with just a bit more care and proactive communication to the parents, I wouldnt have hardly any complaints.Overall, we love Bundle of Joy and our great experiences have vastly out weighed the negative ones.

My boys enjoyed every bit of their day when they attended BOJ. They loved it so much, they encouraged me (along with their teacher) to get a job here. I have been here for ten years now and am loving every minute of it!!

Love!!!I enrolled my child here after 3 years of in-home daycare and instantly loved the place. The teachers (whether full or part time) and ALL of the staff are so unbelievably caring- they get to know you and your family! My husband and I did not realize what a gem this place was since it was our first daycare facility, so we decided to move our son to a more convenient non-bundle center closer to home thinking that we would get the same experience. Wrong. So so wrong. We gave it a month and the other (very reputable, btw) place doesn’t compare to the BoJ on Cottage street. My son is going back to Bundle of Joy @ Hermitage immediately!

Our daughter has been at BOJ for about a year now, and we are so happy to have found a great fit — she has loved each and every one of her teachers, as have we. They are all genuinely invested in their kids and it shows in the kids themselves by how comfortable they are at drop off and happy at pickup.

We were new to Richmond, and after touring a few local daycares, we felt BOJ was the right fit for our son. He has attended BOJ for 2 years now and it feels like home! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The teachers are awesome and really nurture and embrace the kids. We especially love Summer Camp Events which includes swimming in the schools very own pool. There are always lots of activities offered for the kids. This will be our last year at BOJ, since our son will go to Kindergarten next year and we will surely miss everyone who have made it a memorable experience.

We have been with Bundle of Joy (BOJ) for 1 year now. We had visited several daycares before visiting BOJ and when we arrived, there was such a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. As with the other daycares, we arrived unannounced. The director, Mrs. Forbes gave us a personal tour and the children were happily playing and learning. Even the teachers seem to enjoy what they do and that always matters! I love that all the teachers are required to have some type of formal education, if not a degree. We also appreciate that there has not been a lot of turnover with the staff and/or leadership. Our daughter loves being at BOJ and we feel it is a worthy investment given the care, guidance and instruction our child has received. If you are seeking a childcare center that harbors a loving environment while fostering your child’s social and academic skills, then visit BOJ!

I wanted to love the place. I REALLY did. We had friends that went here years ago and loved it. Not sure what changed... Being a prior teacher myself, I consider myself a pretty understanding parent, but this place does not put families first. They abuse their power. As soon as COVID hit, they took away their Vacation Policy that allowed families one week free tuition, and forced families to pay full tuition due to any closure. Their curriculum is poor (for the younger kids, they show a movie at the end of the day to keep them occupied), the food they serve isnt great, and their front office staff are absolutely useless (one woman in particular). They dont take communication seriously, and if you have to leave a message, dont expect a call back. If youre okay with a sub-par facility, then you may find this place suitable. Just know, you get what you pay for.... and less here.
