Our three girls went through the St. Stephens program and were all extremely well prepared for their entry into Kindergarten. The curriculum is unique in Richmond - its a custom mix of the best ideas from Montessori and Reggio Emilia and Piaget. Children learn to do for themselves, here, in a supportive, loving and playful environment. Weve loved it and I cant recommend it highly enough.

Saint Stephens Preschool is a very special school. My daughter completed the program in 2012 and my son is currently enrolled. The teachers are top notch and the program is amazing. The Montessori approach allows the students to learn from play and choices. This teaches them independence and a love for learning. When my child started kindergarten at a competitive private school, she was not only academically prepared, but also emotionally. She was secure in her new learning environment. I know the Saint Stephens program instilled this in her. Im so grateful to be going through the program again with my son. It is a joy to be part of such a wonderful school.

Our son went to SSP for 4 years. He loved the experience, adored his teachers, and graduated well prepared for kindergarten. It was a fun, supportive, and loving early education environment for him. The teachers are great and the facility is safe, clean, and well organized. I cant say enough good things about the school and recommend it without reservation to other families.

Our family loves St. Stephens Preschool because of the warm, loving, and nurturing environment its program and its teachers provide. Our daughter attended for four years and began kindergarten this fall prepared and confident. Our son is attending the toddler morning out program and will continue on at St. Stephens until he is ready for kindergarten, too. I believe its a special preschool teacher who sends your graduate a note two weeks before kindergarten begins (and long after the previous preschool year has ended) sending her love and wishing her luck at her new school. We sent all three of our children to St. Stephens Preschool and would do it all over. The program is exactly the loving and confidence building head start that preschoolers need. It is a well run school, with a team of very dedicated teachers. The friendships we and our children made in the Preschool have continued well after each child graduated.

We have had the most wonderful experiences with St. Stephens! We have had one son graduate, and was so well prepared for and is doing so well in kindergarten thanks to his time at SSP. Our middle son is in his first year of the 5-day program, and we have noticed such an increase in his confidence and love of school. Our youngest will begin SSP in the fall and I am sure will follow in his brothers footsteps and continue to thrive and learn. Not only have our children learned more about ABCs and 123s but they have also learned skills that have improved their emotional intelligence and confidence. We have and continue to be so happy with our preschool choice!
