Caring staff and teachers make Skipwith Academy at Huguenot a home-away-from-home for our two children (1 and 5). The teachers provide safe, developmentally appropriate activities for all children and provide us with many updates throughout the day. I love hearing my 5 year old share what she has been learning when she says things like, Ojos means eyes, or, That looks like the leaning tower of Pisa! It is clear that the caring, family-like atmosphere of her classroom has helped her feel safe, and ready to learn! It is heartwarming to see photos of my 1 year old having the opportunity to play and interact with his classmates to develop those early communication skills. They are also provided healthy eating opportunities which I am grateful for! The teachers treat my children as if they are part of their own family, which gives me peace of mind while I am at work. Skipwith Academy at Huguenot has provided exceptional care for both of our children, and has met all of my expectations for care and learning (which are high as a Montessori-credentialed early-childhood educator myself). We are thankful for SA!

I have two children that both attend Skipwith, one in the Infant room and one in the 3 year old Montessori classroom. My oldest started when he was in the Toddler room. They both love going to school! Every morning when we walk in, we are greeted enthusiastically and by name. My kids are excited to see their teachers and friends everyday. They enjoy all the learning activities that they do each day through reading, art, and play. My son tells me something new he does each day. This week he told me he built a rocket ship out of blocks, worked on the letter P and R, and played pretend with his friend. We love Skipwith and highly recommend them!

This place is fabulous and always looks and smells clean. Asheli and Tiara make this place feel like an extended family. There was never any doubt in my mind about my childs safety while he was there. We started attending this facility during the pandemic, and I always felt the entire staff took the necessary precautions to keep my child healthy and safe. The team here is phenomenal and genuinely takes the time to get to know the kids. We are so lucky to have found a childcare place that communicates regularly with parents and invests time in the kids who attend.

My 3 year old son has attended school at Skipwith Academy at Huguenot since he was 12 weeks old. Ive felt comfort bringing him to school since day 1 because he has been loved and educated by every teacher and director there. I feel lucky to have found a safe and nurturing environment for my son to grow up in. I would recommend Skipwith Academy at Huguenot to anybody looking for excellent childcare in the area.

My daughter started at Skipwith when she was just over a year. She has now been there for a year and we are both very happy here. They have lessons, they take photos, and they have great communication. Everyone knows who we are and They are always cheerful when you arrive. My daughter loves Ms. Christal and it seems that she is cared for just the same.

My son started attending Skipwith Academy when he was 18 months old, and I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the care and instruction he has received there. Even during the pandemic, the administrators and teachers go the extra mile to keep parents informed about their childrens progress both academically and socially. From daily updates to phone conferences, I am very happy with the communication that I receive from Skipwith! Likewise, I am impressed with their attendance to safety; I never have to worry when I drop off my son in the morning-- I know he is in good hands with Skipwith Academy at Huguenot. I recommend them strongly! *****

This poor excuse for a day care is where my child went for a few years. Why did they go so long? Because it used to be awesome. Now under the new director, bullying happens with no repercussion, poor childcare happens, no responsibility is taken by the teachers, there are teenagers being put in charge of classrooms... And whenever there is a conflict it is ALWAYS a certain child’s fault with no investigation done or parent contact made (and I’m not just speaking for my child). I pulled my child out after having enough of what this daycare has become. Look elsewhere. It’s not a place I could suggest to

I have sent my daughters to Skipwith Academy at Huguenot since 2014. My oldest no longer attends, but loves coming to pick up her younger sister each day and seeing the teachers she had when she was younger. Granted not all the faces are the same, but the caring and respectful manner in which each teacher carries themself stays the same. I am grateful that I am able to send my girls to a program that helps them learn and grow. I have seen the center receive well needed updates to its classrooms and outdoor areas. I know this allows the teachers to create a fun and inviting environment where children are able to explore. I have had to sign my fair share of accident reports over the years. Each one has been given to me in a timely manner and handled with concern and understanding. Scraps and bruises are just the signs of an active, engaging classroom. One day my daycare days will be over, but I will forever have a place in my heart for the many teachers that have helped my daughters during these formative years.

We love their infant program. Our son is getting his daily tummy time, he comes home happy and talkative. The app is so convenient and i love that we get pictures and videos. We look forward to our son growing with this school.

Since June Skipwith Academy has welcomed my daughter with open arms. I could not be happier. I am very grateful for all that they do.

We have been part of the Skipwith academy at Huguenot for almost 8 years. The teachers my children have currently and have had in the past are wonderful. The director keeps us informed of things happening at the center. I enjoy her weekly emails. She always is willing to help and always has a smile on her face!! Any issues or concerns I’ve had have always been addressed and handled quickly. The teachers are friendly and really care about the children. We love our Skipwith family!!

Terrible people they make big orders and dont tip the delivery drivers even during the pandemic

Run away from this place if you are seeking infant care. High turnover, teachers NEVER follow feeding and napping instructions. No interest in helping older infants develop ap schedule. Keep having to request that my child gets daily tummy time even though its a state law that requires them to ensure 30 minutes daily - they dont do it or log it. Employees seem unhappy with management turnover.

Libby and the staff are amazing! Wonderful programs, dedicated staff, and a family friendly environment equal happy children. Its a great place to be!

Teachers are horrible to students

My child got sick every OTHER WEEK!!! This went on for a few months until we finally switched day care providers to Goddard School and have never been happier! Here are a few things from my experience: ( Infant Room) They did not wash hands regularly, I saw kids picking up snacks from the ground on a few occasions when pick up occurred. Dirty shoes all over the room where children learn to crawl etc. and chew on the carpet. Toy sharing ALL the time ( spreading germs like crazy) My child on several occasions came home with another childs clothes and even a pacifier in her bag ( and my child doesnt use a pacifier) Fill in teachers very frequently. I never knew who my child was with , no introductions were made. Diaper rash with special instructions not to wipe and I witnessed wiping when picking up my child AND they lost her medicated creme. Horrible experience at this location.
