Great place and great people. They also have cool events where you can meet people.GA is very nice inside. As a student, after lessons you dont have to stay in the class. You are allowed to work on a project from your favorite spot in the campus. It felt very nice!

I did a UX part time course here. Its extremely overpriced (at ~$4,000) with super basic learning - Udemy or Youtube can provide the same level of learning. Employers do not value certifications from General Assembly any more than a random online certificate. You are better off finding an accredited institution that offers courses or continued learning certificates at about the same cost but with much more value to your resume. Wish I had known this before.

Excellent school. Everyone was so approachable and worked as a family. In three months I learned more than in a whole year at a regular college.

General assembly offers a great bootcamp, if youd like to learn the basics as quickly as possible. But their promises of turning you into a full-fledged developer is deceitful at best. Because of this, theyve been accused of posing as a legitimate educational outlet. Like many other bootcamps, GA has also been known to pad their job placement statistics. Among the top 15 coding schools in SF, general assembly is rated the 2nd worst coding bootcamp according to switchup. But dont take my word for it, do your own research

GA is a great school and provides the basics you need to become a web developer. You will be able to create beautiful complex web pages upon graduation. Everything else is up to you.

I was told to prepare myself for 6 challenges which I completed then was told I would have an interview on how I completed the challenges which I told them what I did in order to do the challenges. And then had a technical interview for html, css, and JavaScript and they did not mention I was suppose to learn and tell them during the technical interview what the meaning of each word was suppose to me. So the technical instructor failed me so the admissions lady that helped me at first to get started told me to come again with a different instructor and this time I had practiced the meaning of all the words and how JavaScript works. I expressed myself on how JavaScript works and what it does and I think I did practice a lot and felt very confident I also studied the words that I had failed the first time. I couldn’t find the meaning of about two words in JavaScript I tried looking on the web and found nothing. So basically they failed me again because of this just because of a couple mistakes. I’m disappointed because I thought that they were suppose to teach me not me teach them and I know I’m suppose to know a little so I don’t get left behind during school session but I felt like I would of learned just fine. Very dissapointed with this outcome.

Went to get a feel for what is involved with the expensive price-tag and seems worth it if youre starting off fresh in web development say. But general impression of the school is diminishing with the daily spam from GA that fills my inbox now.

Boy it would be nice if they would EVER answer the phone on the 877 number. Or if it were not impossible to find a local number for them.

Fancy building. A bit confusing with all the different lobbies.
