Just finished the Python Prep Course-Started looking into different Bootcamps at the end of 2020, after realizing needed career change due to the instability of my field during Covid times. After reaching out to admissions on their site for syllabus and more information, they set up time to chat very quickly. Was lucky to deal with Jackie in admissions, she discussed the process and answered all my questions about the Prep course, full time Software Engineer course and what to expect after! She made me feel so relaxed and comfortable from the get go, and made herself available for any and all follow up I had.Going into prep, I was a complete novice, but didnt feel left out in the slightest. The instructors, Athelia and Christina, were beyond amazing. They broke everything down to understandable chunks and professionally handled all the questions we threw their way.The class environment is so welcoming and supportive, each class we got to work on labs with different partners which really helped solidify the material you learn in lectures. They offer tons of additional resources and materials to help you further your studies, or if looking to pass the technical interview and continue with them for the full program. You can tell that everyone you work with TRULY wants you to succeed.I cannot recommend Hackbright enough, I am excited to be continuing forward and have such a support system behind me in my career change.

Had the interview for the target cohort and was told it’s ok to be a beginner and I could take the tech interview in any language I wanted. No one told me I should take it in python since that’s the only language any of their study “resources” have the answers too. I took it in JavaScript and every time I tried to find answers to check my code on stock overflow it was in regex code and not the standard for and if loops they were requesting I study. Not to mention the question I got wasn’t like any of the prep questions at all. If you’re actually a beginner either take the interview in python or don’t work with them. Or maybe they should actually provide better prep material like the woman in the initial interview told me about... and they couldn’t even tell me how many seats they had left when I asked so I could have been studying for literally no reason at all. They were already handing out scholarships and they hadn’t even taken the application down yet. Also the person who gave me the interview was listening to music and had a child making noise in the background. Not the best when conducting an already stressful interview...

They cancelled the scheduled interview because the seats are already filled.!!!If you don’t want to wait until that day so why do you keep those time frames open? Was that a Black Friday deal that we have to line up for ?Beware it was a first come first serve thing !

Didnt know it was possible to learn so much in a short period of time. This has been a life changing decision and the next step in my career as a software engineer. Staff is always there for support and the services that come with the curriculum offered is more than what I expected. Stay tuned for post graduation review. I am about to begin my 5th week at Hackbright and am participating in the 12 week cohort immersive coding program.
