Ive recently been through one of their Private Pilot Finish up Programs. The team in Arizona was excellent to work with. When my cross country plans, with an instructor, were rained on, they quickly adjusted and we managed to get it done. In fact, I was able to do my remaining instrument time on the return flight.Their aircraft are well maintained and well equipped. The instructors that I worked with were very good, and provided key info and tricks to help me shake off some rust. Overall, I recommend this group highly. Go there for training. You wont be sorry.Dan

Excellent experience all around. I have trained at a few schools and am glad I chose American Flyers to obtain my instrument rating and commercial certificate! The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, accommodating and organized. The instructors are proficient, patient, and thorough while facilitating a comfortable, efficient, safe and enjoyable learning environment. I HIGHLY recommend American Flyers!

Amazing training facility and amazing flight instructors. The School Director (Summer) and Chief Pilot (Mike) are like a 2nd set of parents, always there for direction. Would definitely recommend training here.

I came to American flyers with a part 61 private certificate and this was my first time with a 141 program. I like how it’s very structured compared to part 61. In my opinion I have gotten better instruction using a 141 over 61. Price will be a factor as 141 is always a more expensive route but also you usually can get done faster and at a lower time minimum. I’m almost done with commercial and will be around 190-200 hours as opposed to the 61 minimum of 250. The only bad thing about flying anywhere in Phoenix is the heat during the summer but if that is a dealbreaker come fly in the winter when it’s 60-70. American flyers is definitely a school you need on your radar before choosing a flight school and spending 10s of thousands on training. Their refund policy is a no brainer as well. I’ve been here going on 4 months and I havnt seen one instructor leave yet either and they have plenty of instructors here too. Last thing Scottsdale’s airport is great. The controllers are very nice and the airport is nicely laid out and is a very easy class Delta to train out of and become more familiar with controlled airports, bravo airspace, and taxiing.

Our Daughter went here for an introductory flight. Everyone here was super nice and professional. The pre-flight training is very good and the flight itself was awesome. I highly recommend going here for flight instruction - it was a fantastic experience for us!!!

I’m not the traditional American Flyers student (at least I don’t think I am), I work a full time job and I don’t have any short term objective to fly professionally. To my surprise, American Flyers was amazingly accommodating in helping me complete my CPL certificate. From their ground school (which I erroneously complained about not being focused enough solely on passing the written— sorry guys, I regret that feedback), that ended up being amazingly helpful overall, even though I couldn’t see the forest through the trees at the time; all the way to the checkride, the people were friendly, acted like they cared about my progress and helped instill confidence. Tbh, the flow of their program, syllabus and agendas is exactly what I needed to stay focused and achieve my objective. Too many times at other places I’ve found myself starting/stopping my training, which costs time and money. Here I felt like we were equally motivated and incentivized to achieve my goals. Thanks all!
