My 4 kids started learning Taekwondo from Master Nick and Master Tristan about 4 years ago. They have been teaching my kids not only martial arts but also discipline, respect, humbleness, politeness, and importance in life, etc. They have been training mind and body. They are always friendly and professional. Their classes are fun discipline and good workout. I’m also a student as well and I just earned brown belt. I’m so happy that we found this studio!!! They are the best!!!

Everyone here at Mountain View Karate has been so kind, welcoming and supportive. Master Tristan and Master Nick not only do they treat everyone with kindness and respect but they encourage camaraderie and teamwork. They work with all age groups from kids to Adults! I highly recommend

This studio, besides teaching you amazing things like confidence, self discipline, and respect, also teaches you how to build to build yourself up. The people there push you to the limit to train harder, sweat more, and build a community. Everyone is always there for you and proud of you for your accomplishments. Hey guys, I know it’s a little biased to be reviewing your families business. However; I feel like my situation is different based on the fact that I grew up training here. The environment in this studio has kept me motivated, in shape, mentally strong, and healthy through everything I’ve gone through. I’ve always felt like this studio is a family and that nothing can get in the way of the bonds we all share here. This studio is my home and I’m sure many of our students feel the same. Btw the other studios in Phoenix are phenomenal too. I know many of the studio owners personally and we are all are trying to make this community a better, safer place.

I have been fine since I joined Tai Chi class online. Master Nick and nice classmates always give me a wonderful time both physically and mentally.This studio shows us good ways to keep our body healthy and strong!Awesome!!

Wow, this has been a wonderful experience. Both Master Nick and Master Tristen are very patient and effective teachers. They have made a difference in my sons attitude and respect level in just 3 classes. This has been perfect. We tried other activities and sports that did not keep his attention or teach him anything. Just coaches babysitting in a sense. This is not that. This is people who care about the wellbeing of these kids. We are so grateful to have found this place.

Mountain View Karate is hands down the best! My daughter has found something she really takes pride in and I can’t thank Mountain View enough! She loved it from the very first class she took, at first.. I have to admit I thought it was going to be like every other extracurricular activity we tried and she would grow bored of it.. to my surprise I was 100% wrong, The very next day she was just as excited to go to her second class! Almost overnight she became determined to do better in school, to help out more at home with little tasks, but above all of that she became happier, & more confident. To say Enrolling my daughter at Mountain View Karate had a positive influence on her, would be an understatement. Master Nick is supportive, professional, his gift for teaching is obvious within the first 5 minutes of watching him teach a class. The instructors/staff are all helpful, Incentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is incredible.. all of these positive benefits plus she is learning how to perform karate/taekwondo that could help her defend herself, she is also learning mindfulness, work ethic, kindness, determination, and self confidence! I asked my daughter if there was anything she would change about Mountain View Karate and her own words were “ The only thing I would change is being able to go every day even in the morning and at night I wish they were open on every holiday and every day of the week!” Of course we know that would be a little much, however her eagerness is definitely inspiring.

I’ve learned so much since coming here and I credit the majority of my growth as a person and martial artist to this location. Needless to say it’s like my second home.

Both Master Nick and Tristan have a wonderful way of challenging and connecting with each of their young students, teaching them about martial arts, discipline, attitude and focus but having fun along the way. Mountain View is legit. Whether you need to build confidence, re-center, or get in shape, karate is a great way!Master Nick is great with the kids as well! Very patient and especially makes sure the physically challenged feel strong and equal to the others in the group. 5 STARS!

I have gone here since I was 4. I love every bit of time I spend here. Currently Im 12. I wish to be part of the special demo team. They are open almost all weak and at different times. Affordable too.

An amazing place for your child to learn life rules from 2 amazing human beings.

I have been a member of Mountain View Karate since 1999, have attained the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt (Master). I would highly recommend this school for your children. Our instructors work with the children teaching them discipline, focus and to respect others. It is a great school for children and people of all ages. I was 72 when I started.

I have attended some Krav Maga classes in the past, trying to learn some self defense, but in the first class threw me into punching and kicking a human like pad, and I injured my wrist. At MVK they start with the very basics of Taekwondo, and let you go at your own pace. They dont force every single person to move up every graduation, and if they noticed you havent moved up a belt in a while, they spend more time with you in class and really break it down for you. Master Nick is a very knowledgeable 5th degree black belt, and teaches traditional Taekwondo. He can be strict, yet fun and challenging at the same time. You can speak to him for hours about the fundamentals of martial arts. Master Tristan is a 4th degree black belt, putting a modern spin on traditional practice. Very high energy class and a great work out. Together they make a perfect balance class and end the class leaving you wanting to attend the next. I highly recommend this studio for any age.

Master Nick Koclanis and staff have made this a fantastic experience for my children, They are always ready to go to class and enjoy the training both physically and mentally.

Mountain View Karate have very good team. They are very professional, yet fun and humble. Our daughter wanted to take martial art class at first, but when she got there; abby was shy and dont want to take the class. But Master Nick, He knows how to approach her. With no time she started punching and kicking on the mat directed by Master Nick. Even when she wasnt in the mood to step up to the mat, Master Nick easily made her enjoy the class. From that time forward Abby wants to go to taekwondo class everyday. (The class is 2x a week). We foundout last week was her 3rd week, she is more confidence and also her taekwondo improve drastically.

Great taekwondoe classes, the instructor really knows what hes doing and cares what his students learn. The addition of extra classes in wing chun and Tai chi for no added cost greatly increases the value of being a student, for both children and adults alike.

The real deal! Great team!
