Such a wonderful place! I attended on a Tuesday during the free walk-in instruction hours and was able to play several teaching games and just generally enjoy some Go-related conversation. All of the center regulars I met (including the Manager) were warm and welcoming. As the evening went on, I noticed that there were many games going on and the Center did a nice job of trying to pair up people who would be well matched. Keep up the good work!
Ive been going to the Seattle Go Center off and on for over 10 years now, mostly for Tuesday club nights and rating tournaments on the first Sunday of the month. It is a fantastic place to just relax and get some Go games in. It doesnt matter if youre a beginner or dan-level, you will most certainly find someone for you on Tuesday at the very least. There is a wonderful library full of Go knowledge that would talk several lifetimes to process, and even though Ive seen the tatami room thousands of times at this point, it still strikes me with its beauty to this day.Ive met hundreds of wonderful Go players and played thousands of games of Go thanks to the Seattle Go Center, and I would highly recommend anyone, especially those who may have only just heard of the game in passing, to check out their website and stop by on Tuesday to play the wonderful game of Go.
Its incredible to have a place to play Go like this in the west. People are friendly and will teach new players.
Best place for go player.
