Great service, friendly staff, decent selection of most items in stock. I called to inquire if they had the items in stock for the online price and the person who answered my call was extremely helpful and able to provide the answer quickly. Upon arriving at the store, I was able to find what I needed and the person who answered my call recognized that I was the one who called when he saw me carrying the items. Thats pretty good customer service. I definitely appreciate Dana who assisted me and hope this review helps the next customer! Great location, easy access. Terrible experience don’t waste time here. Awful customer service extremely slow and non sensible. Their ship website doesn’t work, I waited 15+ minutes behind only one customer to try to ship a package that already had a ship label…. then still had to take my package elsewhere to ship. There’s a reason Office Max is going out of business!

Office max has the cdc guidelines out front of the building that says fully vaccinated people are no longer needing to wear a mask inside unless health departments require it. Carrying our vaccinated cards my partner and I go into this location and are immediately asked to put our masks on. I am not against masks but if you’re store is going to have the new cdc guidelines up then don’t force people to do what is no longer required.

We bought a printer online and we included the extended warranty. It was only available at this store for pickup.Pickup was fine.Then we realized that the warranty would literally do nothing for us because if the printer breaks we need another printer right away, so buying another one is our best option.We went to the online chat and asked them to return the warranty only.They said we would have to go to the store.I said there is literally nothing to return. (they did come back accept the return)Now our nearby Office Depot is closed.. so it was a big deal to drive to Ballard.I called this store.I explained the situation, and the person on the phone said I could Easily come back to the store, and they wont handle it over the phone. I said I could read them the receipt id. He said they dont do business that way.The tone... was entitled..I dont want to do business with a company that hires people who talk snotty to customers.I was calling back within a few hours of picking it up and driving to another store to pick up ink because they didnt have it there.Im being a bit overly dramatic... but that guy needs to be fired or something.

Poor customer service! One of the managers, let’s call her Karen, was so rude and unhelpful. I guess I didn’t fit the look that the store was trying to go for- empty. It felt like she was in a big rush with absolutely no one to help. Oh well- this place isn’t a very safe or welcoming place.

I wanted to buy a chair in this store and the employee said, they can not the sell the product since they have only one left, it is for show only. the other employee said, they can sell without a problem but other guy didnt want to sell and block. that was the weirdest customer experience. So I could nt buy thr chair they are selling...

Ive come to this store a lot over the years since the week it opened. The staff has usually (but not quite always) been helpful.By my lights, this is a good office supply store.The layout is sensible, prices reasonable. Its rarely crowded. The store has been adequately to well stocked on almost every visit. Its clean, it has good parking and is near several bus lines. It is very near Seattles main bike path (Burke-Gillman Trail).Typically: I go in, get what I need quickly, pay a reasonable price to an efficient but pleasant checker and go back to work. Thats about as good as gets for an office supply store.My one complaint on the appeal front is I really wish it wasnt beige.

Meh - I’m sure there’s a way it could be worse...Poorly laid-out, way too big (lots of empty or poorly utilized floor space) store. As expected, prices are beyond high. The staff are kind, but decently “checked-out.” Overall a sad experience, but if you need something office-y immediately, it’s a safe bet.

Friendly helpful employees especially in the print department. Have used this location multiple times and I am never left unsatisfied with how the experience went. Also very well stocked unlike some other office supplies stores nearby.

This place is pathetic. I bought several items and was told at checkout that they just ran out of bags. Had to juggle, pocket, fumble and drop items on my walk and bus ride home. Now no one is in that store. They do very little business. They should have a large surplus of bags. They could at least offer to help customers. Do not visit or patronize this store and company. Use Amazon!

OfficeMax Ballard has recently established a no use of toilets policy for any customers. This is because they are tired of dealing with the homelessness in the area. Instead, they tell customers to go across the street to the donut shop or Trader Joes to use their toilets. Then come back, if you please. Do these businesses realize this? I doubt it. So, if you are over 50 and have frequent urination issues, or under 40 with small children with dirty diapers or need to go potty, or if youre a woman under 50 who is having her period, do not go to this OfficeMax store. That leaves young healthy males. You guys are safe, and apparently the only customers desired by this business. Id give them a zero rating if I could.

Would not let me in the store without a mask. Did not provide me with one. They would sell me one. Mask requirements not posted. Just lost a long time customer.

I am sad to say that after 9 years of using this as my primary small print job option, that a number of challenges with the new print team - getting quantity wrong, cutting poorly and then saying I should take the job because they worked hard and not completing jobs in a reasonable time frame have caused me to decide to take my print needs elsewhere. i hope that they get their kinks worked out, but I am now in the market for a new print shop.

This store is huge and well stocked but grossly understaffed. I couldnt find a soul and had to make couple of trips to and from the register before having someone paged for help. Back to Staples for me.

I was helped by an employee here named Frank. While in the store, I emailed 3 documents to the store email to be printed: one 6 pages black and white, two single page color documents, all regular size, nothing special or difficult. The email wasnt showing up, he offered no solutions or suggestions, he just stood there staring at the computer screen, silently ignoring me. I asked if I could sign in to my Gmail account at a store computer so my email would show up quicker, he said, No, thats not really secure, so no. I then asked if the store had WiFi, perhaps if I signed in to that it would go through quicker. He said, I dont know, then asked another employee about wifi. The other guy was great! He tried to help my phone connect, and when we gave up (my phones fault) he said, Hey, why dont you sign in to our customer service computer right here and access your Gmail account? WHAT!? You mean, after 20min of patiently waiting to get 8 copies, Frank had lied to me and been silent and unhelpful, I could have been out of here and arrived on time to class to take my test!? Frank said nothing, no apology for not knowing or saying anything about the customer computer! Then he overcharged me for my copies! So, I waited for him to slowly get my refund. THEN, it was still $2.50 for 3 pages front/back black and white copies, and 2 color copies? That should have been less than a dollar! If you get copies here, watch out! Frank will be passive aggressively rude and will cheat you out of your money.

Its an OfficeMax. About the same as any other. If they sell what you need then its great, otherwise its not.If a shop could be an appliance then it would be like this.

Really poor customer service. There were long lines and a manager was out on the floor helping a customer when I arrived. The manager finished with that customer and disappeared into the back office not to be seen from again. Another staff member arrived for his shift, put on a shirt and disappeared - not helping any of the waiting customers. The woman working behind the copy counter let multiple customers cut in front of me and served them making me wait longer. When it was finally my turn, the woman behind me started asking questions and she helped her ignoring me. I will take my money elsewhere.

Incredible customer service at OfficeMax. I had a print job late in the afternoon, and rushed to OfficeMax to get it done. To my dismay, their computers couldnt read my USB thumb drive. I use Apple, and their computers are Windows PCs. There wasnt enough time before closing for me to run home and reformat.A young woman who was working the checkout overheard my dilemma. She just so happened to have her MacBook with her. She helped transfer my files to a Windows formatted thumb drive so I could get my printing done that evening. She even stayed with me after closing to make sure I got everything I needed.This was totally above and beyond and Id highly recommend their print services and store.

Poor selection, poor organization: note books in 3 separate aisles, inventory in disarray- none of the notebooks were in place correlating with their price tag. Employees not knowledgeable or helpful in helping me find items- did not offer any online or shipping options either. One employee very engrossed in his cell-phone. I wont come back.

No selection... A receipt for one item was at least 16 inches long. I wanted to ship a shirt out and just one bubble envelope was 3.29 like come on! Couldnt find any other options because they were sold out of everything for shipping exept 10 bucks for a cardboard box.

This is the only time Ive bartered with someone inside of a big box store. I was trying to buy a chair. The guy said they only had the floor model of the chair. I asked if there was a discount for the floor model, and he said that actually the floor model was MORE expensive than the quoted price. I gave an incredulous look, and after a minute, he offered me the chair at 20% off the listed price. Unusual encounter.The store is clean. It has the selection youd expect if youd ever been inside an OfficeMax. Go here if you need some generic office supply and dont want to wait for Amazon.

Great friendly staff

I will not be returning to this location. I was ignored by employees, and passed over for the next person in line several times. Which for any of you who have been to this deserted store is hard to do seeing as there was a combined ten people in it. Aside from that the staff was all over the board on pricing for printing supplies, and I ended up being charged more than twice the amount the initial employee quoted me.

I have been shopping @ this location since it opened. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN! I went to purchase a calendar & they said I stole a calendar. They wanted to strip search me, PERVERTS,!!! ! STAY AWAY FROM THIS NEGATIVE STORE.
