I have only ever been to two BJJ places (I am a new white belt). J3 has been awesome for the whole family. The last place we would be there for 3+ hours as we waited for each group of family members to train. At this place, the kids train in the next room at the same time as the parents (1 hour). J3 also tends to be more safety minded (the other place had the kids doing moves that made all watching bystanders groan due to a lack of basic safety instruction as kids were getting rolled backwards on their neck). But probably the most awesome thing about this school is how much your sparring partner helps you learn the moves. If you are not naturally Kinesthetic it is really awesome to have helpful and insightful rolling partners to help you learn the moves quicker. It is amazing how certain techniques applied the right way can have positive outcomes over bigger, faster, stronger, or heavier rolling partners. Jamie and Geoff are awesome instructors. Great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school for kids, women, and men!

I recently moved from TX to GA and stopped in to J3 to try their morning class. Black belt and owner Jamie Williams led the class which was great and his communication and teaching was very precise. The things he taught are very realistic and applicable. Sometimes you go to gyms and they are all chasing some new crazy inverted technique that works maybe 1 out of 10 times and you have to be a gymnast to pull off, but Jamie is teaching true principles that will work 10 out of 10 times. Great place to train and highly recommend it.

They recently hosted a Jeff Glover Seminar and it was awesome. Very welcoming, friendly, clean environment. Plenty of mat space for everyone. Would recommend this gym to anyone in the area looking for a legit Academy to learn and train at.

Im visiting the area with my wife and dropped in on the 5:30AM Nogi class this morning. The fact that there are 5:30AM classes daily is a great indication that this place is legit. Ive been to dozens of gyms and this is probably the most welcoming. Everyone was incredibly nice, including the instructor. Great drills, great set sparring, and great rolls. I did notice that there were a couple of brand new guys today. This place did the right thing and pulled them aside for the basics. Pros: Great environment, VERY NICE group, clean facility, nice/safe location, excellent instruction, and rolls that are designed for your skill level. Cons: none. Im going to hit the gi class tomorrow at 5:30AM.

I went into J3 for the first time knowing nothing about jiu jitsu nor did I know anyone there or anyone who even did jiu jitsu. That is intimidating by itself. But Jamie and Ryu were the first two people I met, and they made me feel very comfortable and excited to get started. They made sure I got special attention in my first classes so I could follow along and learn. It was such an amazing first impression; not once did I feel out of place or nervous. The environment and atmosphere is what kept me coming! They welcomed me into the J3 family with open arms and I couldnt imagine ever going anywhere else!Great instruction, I competed in my first competition, despite competition nerves, I felt very good going in as our instructors and teammates made sure we were ready! The entire gym came out to support everyone competing. It truly is a family environment and everyone is very supportive of each others progression!

J3 has been mine and my daughters’ second home for the past 18 months and I can’t say enough about how much I love this place. We started jiu Jitsu as a self defense idea for my girls and we all fell in love with it. My older one and I have done competition and we are pretty much every single day in those mats! It’s a very family oriented place, and we have the 6pm classes for adults on one mat, and kids on the other. And this is a dream for parents so we can workout at the same time as ours kiddos. All instructors are amazing and the people treat everyone like family from day one. Everybody feels welcomed and it’s such a nice and fun energy every single night. There are classes everyday as well, which is a plus. The gym is beautiful, spacious and super clean! Come join our j3 family!

Two years ago I decided to try Jiu Jitsu with my kids (8 and 6 years old at the time). We quickly became hooked. Now, J3 is a major part of my entire family’s life. My kids and I train 4-6 times per week and compete regularly. The knowledge is high level and the atmosphere couldn’t be more laid back and welcoming. If you want a great activity to share with your family, learn self defense or just a great way to stay in shape, I highly recommend giving J3 a try.

This school is legit, the instructors are awesome. I have been to other very good martial arts schools but J3 stands out because the instructors truly care about the students. They go the extra step to answer questions and demonstrate techniques. The atmosphere is family friendly and the members are great. They have a “take care of your training partner” mentality. If you, your family or friends are interested in trying out a martial arts school, I HIGHLY recommended checking out J3 ! They will even give you a two week trial before you decide - and no one pressures you to join. I have done the BJJ and Judo classes - give them a call and decide for yourself! They offer basic and high level learning...

This place is AMAZING. We all get along like a big family. We learn self defense from a bully trying to fight you, to a total stranger pointing at you with a gun and more. I totally would recommend this place to anyone who want to learn self defense from a person stronger or bigger than you.

This is a truly top notch place to train Jujitsu! I was in town visiting family and came in for a class. I was blown away. The facilities are excellent and the instruction is legit. In one class, I learned a ton of new techniques to add to my game. Ill be back for more classes next time Im in town!

A great welcoming atmosphere, where we train seriously but have a lot of fun. Students range in age from young kids to grandparents, and in two years, I am fully confident that I could not only defend myself in a bad situation, but that I know how to avoid it, and that in most cases size doesnt matter. As a smaller female, I can still defend myself, and yet, while learning to do so, have also improved my cardio, endurance and self-confidence. The one-on-one attention, with private lessons to help you focus on specific areas of concern or weakness, the welcoming atmosphere can make what may seem a bit intimidating at first -- grappling on the ground with a bunch of strangers -- feel like a great escape and way to relieve stress from the day while still learning something useful. Even my three girls have benefited from understanding how to use leverage to turn a disadvantage in size into their advantage and be safe; whether being bullied or attacked.

I stopped and visited J3 while in town for a business trip. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I happened to come during their fundamentals week, so i got to see first hand what it was like to be a day 1 white belt. The school is NOT an intimidating fight gym. They are definitely more open and welcoming to the general pop. Jamie has patience and explanatory skills to teach the most beginner of beginners, and has the knowledge to teach high level BJJ athletes.Out of the 35+ gyms that I have traveled to J3 has won the most hospitable award.Id highly recommend J3 for beginners or people who want to focus on the self defense / street applicable portion of BJJ !

Cant say enough great things about this place! We had tried a tae kwon do studio in the area and we were not impressed and were looking for something different. My kids have been very happy here, the classes are small and there is a lot of one on one time with the instructors. They are great with the kids and take time to make sure they understand. The instructors have created a very welcoming vibe to the studio, not intimidating at all. They are very passionate about what they do and it comes through in their teachings.

Its rare to see children and adults in the same milleau, with safe & warm regards for age, size, gender and belt.Thank you all!

I have trained in martial arts at a few different schools over the years so I can confidently say that J3 is top notch. The instruction in both Jiu Jitsu and Thai Boxing is nuanced and focuses as much on the “why as the “what and “how. All techniques are deconstructed so that students learn concepts and strategies that can be applied in multiple scenarios, while drilling specific flows to promote retention and muscle memory. What truly stands out about J3 is the fact that the student body is deep and wide in terms of experience. This is not a gym with a single black belt presiding over a legion of whites and blues. Nor is it a competition only gym where recreation seeking players and lower belts might find it intimidating. The instructors are backed up by numerous brown, purple and blue belts that are equally generous with their knowledge. White belts get to watch and roll with people of all levels and get to see and feel first hand what is in store for them should they keep at it and rise in the ranks. The members all prop each other up to grow, through the grind and sweat, together for the betterment of each student and for the group collectively… much like a family would do. I am a proud J3 member, as are my children. We each train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing and even have opportunities to share the mats during family oriented classes. As someone who loves the martials arts and spending active quality time with my family and other great people, I wholeheartedly recommend J3 for both individuals and families.

I have been attending this gym for roughly 3 months now and i have refound my desire for BJJ. Professor Jamie and his coaching staff are extremely knowledgeable, friend, and motivating. I encourage anyone to come once and just try it, but be warned you will become addicted to BJJ once you get a taste (it is free!). J3 abd BJJ has changed my lifestyle for the better....THANK YOU JAMIE ANDJ3 ACADEMY.
