Registered my son for Jiu Jitsu and Boxing classes. The place is not big, but has a great vibe. Ive watched the staff and owner interact with the people who come there and its very personal and warm. My son is happy with the classes. They are not big, only a few kids, and that allows for order and discipline. Its not cheap (compared to another Jiu Jitsu place we used to go to) but we pay more for swimming and other sports. All in all my son goes up to 4 times a week so its valuable. Were happy.

Multiple times now I’ve shown up and they’re closing despite their Google listing showing as open. Other than that it’s an all around good quality boxing gym.

I have been training here in the Alpharetta location for just about a year now. I am SO FOREVER GRATEFUL that I chose to sign up at Knuckle Up right when I moved here from TX. The coaches and members here have changed my life. Im not kidding! Each kickboxing class, I burn between 500-600 calories in an hour. In Muay Thai, I get to fine tune my technique and still burn between 400-500 calories in an hour. Yes, each one is killer workout, but its SO MUCH FUN and MOTIVATION! The coaches are all professionals/fighters and GREAT teachers! Coach Mike and Stevie have no idea how much I appreciate their incredible classes! I highly recommend skipping the trial and just go straight to signing up! Okay okay fine - try it out for a week, but you wont regret it. Knuckle Up!

I think this is an ok gym and cancelled due to a work conflict. This is where my negative review starts. Good luck canceling! I have a month to month contract and cancelling is impossible. They force you to cancel via mail which they conveniently loose. I suspect they do it this way as there is no paper trail. It’s 2019, why can’t you cancel via email?I personally think there are better gyms around that offer cheaper membership, better class schedules and do not make cancelling impossible.

If there was a way to give zero stars I would. Sadly, not everyone is at fault here, but the one at fault is CJ, the owner of Knuckle Up. I recently had a shoulder injury and was told (and it was on the written agreement) that the knuckle up company should be able to cancel my membership with a written statement from my doctor. I did give them this statement and they had him fill out another form after that which I thought was strange because nowhere on the membership agreement did it say you were required to have another form signed. Anyways I sent this one in and they still did not cancel my membership. Two weeks went by with no response and I finally followed up only to find out that CJ could not talk with the doctor over the phone and for this reason he was not going to allow me to cancel my membership. I looked further into this with attorney generals office and this was not acceptable. If anyone has issues with this facility I would reach out to the consumer protection agency. Im not a fan of this company and the way they bullied me as well, I have a true injury. For this reason I feel like I had to make this review so others are aware before they sign their membership agreement.

I love the KnuckleUp kickboxing classes! Although they can seem intimidating, the classes are actually very easy to get started with. The instructors do a great job of helping us newbies get in there and start getting fit. If you are truly wanting to lose weight and to keep it off, kickboxing is the way to go. Nobody does it better than KnuckleUp! I have tried some of their more popular competitors in the area. Nowhere have I had as much fun while getting in such a great workout than at KnuckleUp. I HIGHLY recommend them.

I would give 5 stars for the premises, trainers and the facilities.I wouldnt want to be unfair with my review and change it if its because of my understand problem. My concern is their membership cancellation policy. I have taken no contract month on month membership. I had to stop going there because of my surgery. After surgery, I went to their premises to cancel the membership. I was asked to send a mail to an ID. I was provided options to cancel by sending a letter to their post box. Here is my concern. Enrollment was taken with latest technology and in the premises.Cancellation is forced to be sent only on physical paper to the post box.Sending the physical paper delays the cancellation by multiple days.I really hope that this restriction is not to delay the cancellation and wish that the cancellation can be considered over official mail Id communication or scanned signed letter.Till the time I send the written letter their post box, membership fee would be deducted from my credit card.I guess opting for cash payment on monthly basis would be better in such cases.

Been coming here for almost a year, and have had a great experience with the kids program for Jiu Jitsu. The coaches are tough, but fair with the kids, and the kids all get along with each other as a team!It is my sons only team sport right now, and he really clicks with kids (boys and girls in same class... awesome). We initially didnt care about competition, just wanted the self confidence building. After 2 tournaments, my son has seen some success and it really reinforces his interest, and also helps with bonding even more. They start as early as 5 years old, and go through early teen years before transitioning to a adult program, which is fantastic... Alex, Marc, Pete, Brian, and Scott are all top-notch!

They don’t deserve one star but anyway, I had conversation with them by the email for cancellation my membership bc of my new address is 24 miles away from the near location form them, but they told me in the contract you have to be 25 miles away form us ! Who drive 24 miles with traffic to the gym just for workout, they are really tough and they just thinking about the money, I’m never ever gonna recommend this gym to anyone, and also last 6 months I couldn’t go to the gym but they still charge me . In this period of time I sent almost 10 mails to them but they don’t care about that...M.davis

If you are serious about losing weight, building muscle and getting fit, then this gym is for you. I took a free Kickboxing class just to check it out and the next day I cancelled my membership at the Y and joined Knuckle Up Fitness. At first I did not like the idea of a contract, but the workout was so awesome and intense that I knew I wasnt throwing my money away. This is the best gym I have ever joined!

The managers were very courteous and helpful in leading me to class and making sure I got my phone charged. Clean and orderly workout area. The instructors were enjoying their occupational interactions. The BJJ class I took was fun and had a good mix of Players that enjoy the grind of BJJ. Members were polite and had gi’s that get washed regularly. Can’t wait to go back.

Pretty damn good. tough workout so it keeps the cry babies away. One thing thats lacking is a critical mass of white-collar crowd who are competent but dont necessarily want to fight competitively; thats Alpharettas fault though not the gym itself.

I really dont understand the low reviews. I found CJ to be very easy-going and not pushy at all. When I was presented with membership options after I used my Groupon, the rates and terms were explained very clearly. I never felt like he was trying hard to upsell me on anything. I knew full well what I was signing up for. Also, KnuckleUp is NOT expensive. If you actually take advantage and go regularly, its quite a steal. As for the staff, they are some of the friendliest and helpful people in an industry that can be very intimidating. The trainers are very experienced and knowledgeable. I can always count on them to answer any questions or concerns I may have. Im in my 8th week and Im already starting to see incredible results! Keep it up guys!

We first came to KnuckleUp in 2009 and we were immediately impressed with the gym and the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. We have been happy members since. The BJJ program is top notch, but what else would you expect for a place with an 8th Degree Black Belt Instructor? KnuckleUp puts out some of the top BJJ Athletes in Atlanta. KnuckleUp athletes dominate at competitions, and have won many team trophies, and too many medals to count. But it is not only for hard core BJJ athletes. There are also fundamental classes, and there is usually a nice mix of belts in all of the classes. The Boxing/Kickboxing classes are always full and high energy, and there is a great mix of people that are members. Everything from people just working to get in a little better shape to hardcore athletes & fighters. KnuckleUp is always a friendly, family atmosphere, and we have never had reservations about bringing our children. Overall we have been very impressed, and are extremely happy customers. We highly recommend KnuckleUp!!

I have been a member here for the last 2 years. I only train jiu jitsu with Master Ricardo Murgel, Professor Steve Mitchel, and Quentin Rosenweig. My experience has been great! My teammates are the best and everyone at the gym is really cool. I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking for great BJJ instruction. Also, if you want to try some kickboxing/muay thai they have some top notch people for that as well.

Knuckle Up is probably one of the worst establishments in Atlanta for BJJ, MMA, Kickboxing, etc. There are ALOT of better options. Try Alliance, Unit 2 Fitness, Tiger, etc. Knuckle Up has mostly inexperienced, poorly trained instuctors. Its also one of the most expensive schools in Atlanta. If for some reason you DO decide to attend this establishment. MAKE SURE TO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. they will force you into a 2 year contract, and it is VERY difficult to get out of it.
