When my daughter arrived at this school coming from abroad she had some adaptation problems, we could notice some behaviour change and she even started feeling sick! With the support of the School Counselor, teachers became aware about and completely turn this scenario around. Now she is doing great. School staff care about our children.

Its a good school, but a lot of my classmates hang out in the bathrooms where no teachers are, and BYOD rules arent really enforced. However, the teachers are great and the classes are made interesting by the teachers. It would be better if the tech at the school was actually able to function. However, though I havent been at this school for a long time, my time here has still been great!

Spending two years at this school, the work was poorly arranged along the curriculum, leaving students to rush assignments and learn nothing. I understand, with tight schedules and everything, but then the teachers would be stressed from lack of staff and constant overwork. As an autistic child, I am cursed with extreme sympathy, to the point that I FEEL the pain if someone is hurt. So I felt all the stress, of all the teachers. Combined with the rushy atmosphere, and rude fellow students who tried to escape the school on several occasions, it drove me to insanity, and I ended up driving my head against a wall, to hopefully cloud my mind, and make everything stop. It didnt. As I was on the floor, had done it right in front of the teachers, and they just stood there with bored faces. Lina, get up. Lina, lets go to class, I need to reasonable excuse Eventually, I got up, and stumbled upstairs. I ended up doing this twice, forcing my mom to remove me from the environment. Now, I am in a much better place. But as advice to other children, AND their parents, please do not attend this school! Show Wake County you care about how a school is run.

This school was pretty good at first. The teacher act all kind infront of my parents but on school days they are rude and yell at you for usually a stupid reason such as if you are taking notes too slow. The staff are completely disrespectful and most of the teachers are not even licensed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS HELL HOLE!

Overall, Salem Middle isn’t the best school, but it’s not totally bad. There are a lot of teachers who aren’t great. Some are way too uptight, some have no idea what they’re doing, and some just can’t handle a class, but there are some chill teachers. And although a lot of kids need to grow up, if you get with the right crowd it can be okay. Basically, if you make the most of it and get lucky, it’s not half bad.

Actually i change my mind... this school sucks. all my friends and i are good students but the teachers and staff are rude. dont recommend taking your child here. it has made my 3 years of life HELL

I obviously chose to release this review anonymously so people dont come after me for this, but here goes. This school can not keep its students under control. The staff members rarely make a difference in the behavior of their students, and Im sick amd tired of it. If youre thinking about enrolling your student here, you are sadly making a big mistake. I cannot stress enough how bad the staff are at keeping control around the school. Heres why.First off, some teachers dont even care how students act in class. They just sit back and hand out work they know was given to us last year, and not even for the purpose of review. The teacher in charge of in school suspensions doesnt care what classmates do in their room. This has led kids to want to go to in school suspension, and never learning to respect their superiors. Second off, a lot of teachers that will remain anonymous barely give guidelines to assignments that could seriously affect their average, thus giving them a poor score for meeting only the requirements shown to them. This will confuse children on assignments even though they did what they were told. So do yourself a favor, and enroll your son into Apex middle.

Loved it here! Just the gym teachers can be a bit....extra. Also known as they cant mind their own business.

This school is terrible. My friend Alex wrote a review about things that actually happened (its like a couple reviews below this one) and he expressed his opinions. I agree with his opinions. Dont bring your child here.When he wrote his review he purpoesfly didnt call any teachers or students out by name. However, at school multiple teachers publicly made fun of him and denied his claims, even when virtually every other student agreed with him and vocalised this. ALL OF HIS CLAIMS ARE TRUE.At this school the administrators are terrible. They are blatantly racist. One time (Alex wrote about this) a bunch of Latin-American students beat up another student at knifepoint and it was caught on camera. Nothing was done. This is because they are afraid of being called racist and want to help minorities, which I can support but this takes it way to far.In addition, the counselors are terrible. The old 6th grade counselor was great but the current counselors make me very sad. I know students whose depression has gotten worse when they saw these counselors. Almost no one goes to them with a problem because students know they will be ridiculed.Many teachers dont do very much work. I have seen teachers on calls almost all of class, watching netflix, watching hulu, texting, playing on their phones, playing on their computers, and many other things during class. These are not isolated incidents.All in all, this school is absolutely terrible. And I decided to be anonymous because I dont want to be humiliated by my unsoportive and coldhearted teachers.

Love this school Ms Kotik and ms.barrow and mr.sudlow and mr.ferriter are so awesome they help you when you need it and teach you in hlpful ways i learned so much faster and the students there are nice you should definitley bring your child here

Some very good teachers, but some of them are downright mean and rude. Also, poor assignment quality from some teachers, the computers are outdated, slow, horribly damaged, and underfunded as we have so little of them. Tech design is a joke right now as we had no objective yet still had to turn things in. Most counselors are great, but I find some of the higher up ones to be very bad at helping kids ironically. Food is not good at all, dont blame the cafeteria ladies, blame the food producers and the people that pick what we eat. Clubs are bad as we cannot apply to make one ourselfs, many teachers also just want to get on with the day than examine the problem and possible solutions. Overall, I do not enjoy being at this school very much other than with a few students and teachers.

If i could give it no stars i would, its that bad/ everything there is just down right aids. half of my teachers didnt even have licenses to teach the subject they were teaching. im so glad that im in high school and not in that place. every time i drive by i haft to close my eyes just to try not to think about all of the bad memories there. This school is ok. They have some nice teachers. But the staff in student services are rude. Except Mrs.Jaynes she is nice. Im sad because all the good people are leaving and this school is going to rot in hell probably in the next year or so. Not trying to be rude just being honest. Oh and if you are thinking about enrolling your child into salem... I wouldnt reccomened it. The principal doesnt do a good job. Sends people to ISS for no reason.

This is a really good school. I went there for 6th and 7th grade and I moved to Lufkig for 8th grade and I really miss Salem. The teachers where amazing and unlike the teachers at Lufkin they really care about everyone and if everyone is learning as much as they can. The teachers are super nice and they are really interested in teaching like its something they love to do not like something they do to get their paycheck. Its also a very organized school. They PE/Health teachers where actually really good and nice, even though some people wouldnt think so compared to Lufkin the teachers at Salem where amazing. Salem also has a sport field for all the sports, and its a really big campus. Salem is an amazing school and all the kids are nice and so are the lunch ladies, idk the lunch ladies names but theyre my homies.
