The teachers are great helpful and the kids love them. The counselors are also pretty accessible. However the administration is horrible. Bullies run the school. Students can abuse the teachers and get away with it. My kids missed out most of sixth and seventh grade because of uncontrollable students. I have had to pull my kids off of the bus and carpool with several other students in our neighborhood because of uncontrollable bullies... the administrators need to get some training and learn to do their jobs.

I think the school needs to learn how to handle bullying (physically, emotionally, verbally) that goes on. I believe its an issue at this school. I also believe the school system should revisit the school code of conduct. The levels of severity do not equal the punishment. Its more a slap on the wrist. I think the parents of these bullies need to be more proactive and stop blaming teachers! Be responsible and teach your kids kindness and compassion! For the parents or reviewers that say there is no bullying? I am so happy your child hasnt encountered it. I am happy that you have such positive things to say and your child has had a wonderful experience. That is ideal and what every parent or child could wish for. But it definitely goes on. Dont put up blinders. I do believe that there are friendly staff and you will get a good learning experience. But bullying it does exist.

I am a 9th grader, who graduated from this school last year. I would say that the administrators do not care about you or your childs safety. They care about how the school is presented and uses the students for personal gain. There were few teacher who were committed to their job and cared for the students. Lastly, the school uses its money for painting the interior instead of using it to improve the education for students. Very sad

This place is nice and the *teachers are cool . The rules can get heavy but over all it’s cool

Went to 3 middle schools in Wake County, and West Lake was definitely my favorite! I came to West Lake in 8th grade from Lufkin Road. The teachers all were very, very kind to me and did everything to help with my transition. Loved West Lake, probably one of the best middle schools in the school district!

This school is ok, its not great. There are some things they can improve on. They should help fund art and music because those electives sometimes get forgotten because they seem unimportant but there are studies that show that art and music helps the brain. The school funds for new workspaces even though the spaces are fairly new. It would cost less to supply a few more music books or a couple new paint brushes. Another thing is that the teachers do not get to help students one on one because of the class sizes. That makes it hard sometimes. Bullying is another problem many kids face at this school. The good things about this school are the after school activities, the school spirit, and the assemblies. I got to be a part of an after school activity called Love Loss and Hope, it was amazing I made friends and by doing what i love (singing) i got to help fundraise and raise money for people in Puerto Rico who were hit by the hurricane.

They give lots of homework and dont deal with bullying

Mrs adkins is the worst Principal ever if you get in trouble you are a target never go to this school i am going to tell you that you are much beter going to any other school in the world

They put me in iss on first icedent and the incedent was that i poked a firl on axecident but assatant pricible calmed that it was on purpose

Been here for 3 years and I only like a few teachers and they are some really cool teachers here the rest are annoying this is W E S T L A K E everyone here is annoying

If you send your kid here you are sending them to hell the teachers dont care about how the students feel. Most of the kids are falling under a huge amout of stress and its all caused by the teachers

Im a 7th grader in this school an i can say this school is not the best from what i could tell because the food is very down grade and the people are always varying and yet 30 percent of the people actually want to learn and it gives off a depressing mood and yet the teachers cant do much to help that.

This school is okay but the teachers here on the 7/1 team will make you do work on the weekend for not doing it and they will call your childs parents for nothing at all that is the WORST thing with this school
