It’s my 3 week here. First of all the admission process was so easy, when I didn’t understand what I was signing Mrs.Johnson was super sweet and straight forward. She made it 10x easier for me to start on whatever day I wanted to. She made me realize that some days may be tougher then others but keep pushing. The teachers are amazing all they want to do is make sure you understand the material and for you to be prepared for the State Board. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I love Empire Beauty School like I said it’s only my 3rd week and I’m a full time student. Wish me luck and I wish u the best for anyone interested in coming to this cosmetology school.

My hair was completed by Chantia for the 1st. time. She was professional, curtious . Chantia had a good attitude willing to learn. My color was not easy as it was a correction as well. As a result my color turned out excellent . My hair had lots of bounce. I was very pleased with results. Instructors were very helpful as well. I will continue services @ Empire and will refer friends and family. Thank You

The students and instructors here are fantastic. They have good Covid safety protocols in place and they have done an incredible job rehabbing my over-processed hair and getting it back to the vibrant color I love without further damage.

This school is literally amazing. I love the various options you have to attend school. It allows a work life balance especially for someone who works during the day full time. From the course materials, to the kit and staff, Empire Northlake, truly sets you up for success.

This was my first visit to Empire. The desk person, Bambi, was courteous, friendly and informative. She promise to give me a call if an appointment was available. She did call in a timely manner and was most accommodating.My student stylist, Naomi, was equally as informative and courteous. I feel this is embedded in the fabric of the school’s philosophy and it displayed in the students. I am totally pleased with my experience at Empire at Northlake.S. Hutchings

I have been going here for about 1 month and a half now and I absolutely love it . The teachers are great and professional. They welcomed me with open arms and we have been a big family since. If anyone is looking to go here i say GO FOR IT !!

My first time in Empire Beauty School. It was a great atmosphere! The director gave me a tour of the school and was upfront and honest about what to expect. Love the experience i graduated today (1/15/21) i love the people here the teachers the administrators the students here, learned alot here and got a change to open up more.

I just want to tell the world about two of the most Beautiful, Strongest, talented, transparent, amazing supportive, dedicated,( the list goes on) educators I have ever met. Ms.A..from My first day in class with her, her spirit is just so beautiful, her energy is everything to me!! She is just amazing, her passion an dedication to teach an be here for us students, her support, an understanding is way beyond an educator/Stylist!! She kept me encouraged! I would go though my work book after she would review my work, and she would leave hand written sticky notes of encouragement! At that time I needed that! ( she knew but I don’t think she understood what that meant to me)It meant the world to me!! I was going to take a LOA, because of my personal life issues/ struggles were just overwhelming. When Ms A, returned to work from her own LOA, I immediately told myself “you got this”. Knowing that I will get the support, knowledge, energy, an inspiration I needed/ wanted from Ms A. Welcome Back Ms A!!Ms Madearis, This amazing woman right here!! I though I was a hard worker!! Absolutely I am, however, when Ms Doght, stepped up to become a night educator, ( due to staffing shortage at our campus) as well as her daytime class, I knew then , this was not just a JOB for her, but a passion and a lifestyle. She was working 12 hour days ( maybe more) just to be with our class!! Her dedication, her passion, an her teaching style ( sometimes through personal testimony’s) kept me coming to class, kept me pushing. Thank you for everything Ms Doght. I have learned so much from her! The support, an caring, an encouragement, and understanding ,she gave me with my own journey as a student, a stylist, a single mother, was way beyond an educator. I can go on an on about my Empire family. These two deserve a standing ovation. Rather I see, or talk to either one of these beauties after I graduate, they definitely made a difference in my attitude, the way I walk, talk and as Ms A said to us “ I am unapologetically me”. Just want the world to know the gifts Empire has without writing a book.

Had services here for myself and kids. Ladies they dont just take care of us girls.. They cover males too! Bring your boys for a haircut and see for yourselves. ☺ Honestly great at it all..

Although I didn’t get any service done the day I went it was this one student that was rude and didn’t know the value of speak when spoken too or not to interrupt someone when they are speaking!🙄 It made me not want to get service there🤦🏽‍♀️ Ultimately the lady I was speaking to before the rude lady interrupted was very helpful and professional.

When I say out school here at Northlake campus is the best it’s awesome. We have sooo much fun learning and doing things that will help us succeed in our careers. Today we made our own organic facials and I must say we have some hits here. Our products is about to make some real nice product lines🙌

Tiffany took over another stylist work .. when I say i was welcomed with a calming spirit, * she literally made my heart smile*She gave the best service ever experienced in 8 years.... if you ever visit, please please ask for Tiffany Burch....she will make you look amd feel like your best self....

Nice and Clean School. Management could be better but to potential clients please remember this is a HAIR SCHOOL which means soon to be professional stylist are LEARNING to enhance a technique. You can not pay Walmart price for Gucci (don’t let that go over your head). Please know what’s expected when you decided to go to a hair school. For better quality you need to pay a better price PERIOD POOH.

The service l received was decent and customer service was the worst I have ever received since all of my visits. I have been coming to the school for about Five years or so. Understand there students but need to know that customer service will keep your clients. Than she stood there weighing for a tip. Usually l tip and very well be really didnt want to so give far less than normal. Really miss Mrs. Freemans presents she really teach the students.

Received great service from a student name Lila! But when I went to pay, the card reader continuously froze during my transaction. And apparently it was due to me having a symbol in my name on the card! So I stood in the front of the salon for almost 25 minutes as they proceeded to shut down and reset the computer and card reader several times before manually inserting my card for me to pay. A huge inconvenience!! And no one seemed to be apologetic for the inconvenience at all! Very annoyed

I absolutely loved the customer service at the school. Jamesia was my stylist and she was so pleasant and attentive. They are students and I dont mind taking a chance there because they have instructors there if they have any questions or need a little guidance. I highly recommend the school.

Walk-ins were supposedly welcomed, however I found myself waiting for over an hour to be seen. They didn’t inform me of any kind of wait or check in to keep me updated on the progress. Very disappointed.

Dont Dont Dont waste your money the instructor dont help when the student needs it, they damaged my hair and didnt get me the color I wanted. Spent 7hours in that salon for them to mess up my hair. Stay away!!!

My hairstylist Keisha Carr was very knowledgeable about the hair products she used on my hair and why. She was a professional who provided services that exceeded my expectations. I am pleased with my overall experience at Empire Beauty College in Atlanta, GA.

Our daughter attends this school. They court you real nice to reel you in and afterwards, the staff leaves you to the wind. To late to transfer because shes almost done. Cant wait until we dont have to have any contact with them. Ugh. They screen your calls and wont return yours.

This place is horrible. They let me sit under the dryer for 2 hours after I repeatedly told them if someone else can wash my hair. The person in charge decided not to do anything about it. Then they charged me 24$ for just the partial wash. I will never recommend anyone to come here for even a simple hair wash. Most of the Students and their teachers are incompetent and have no respect for the customers. They should not even receive a one star honestly.

Who can mess up a rollerset? Apparently, this school can. The top of my head still hurts from the student who roughly pulled and combed my hair when she was upset shed been assigned to me.Came at 9am. Left after 2pm with a wet head. Saturday wasted... Now, I get to figure out what to do with my hair. (Looked better when I arrived.)

Enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was great. Brittany did a great style! The ladies were attentive and professional. The wait time was average- it is first come first served on Saturdays.

My experience was the worst. I had an appointment on May 6, 2019. I arrived at 9am and seated at 9:30am. Mr. Howard was in charge. He was terrible greeter. He didnt even speak until I said good morning. He then said greetings. I signed it and was not even asked what I was getting. The stylist that was assigned to me was Indian. Im African American and wanted flat twist. When the Indian lady asked me what I was getting I told her a flat twist updo. She said that she dont know if she she can do it. She told her Teacher (Mr. Howard). The teacher said you can do it. You have people in the back to assists you. Well the wash bowl went good until we got back to the seat. It was a hell of an experience. The stylist was pulling my hair apart like mozzarella cheese sticks (they called it detangling). There was one girl who showed her one example flat twist and she left. She couldnt be found. Then the Indian lady tried one time and it was awful. I told her to tell her teacher to find another experience stylist to do my hair. Well she came back and said her teacher was looking for someone. Well Mr. Howard came back to the back and helped another student with a haircut. I was there before this other lady. It was 11am by this time. He assigned this pregnant young girl on my head. She spent 1hr on my head and she said that she had to go for prenatal appointment. She did the whole back of my head and it was not neatly done. The flat twist at the bottom were not neatly twisted down to my scalp. I had major frizz going on. When the pregnant stylist left. The Indian lady got back on my head and gave me 3 flat twist in the front and it looked a hot mess. When I told the Indian lady to stop and get someone she told her teacher and by this point the teacher was helping a student and client on a hair cut. Its 1230pm by this time and I have a half head done. Mr. Howard and student was standing close to our station in talking distance. The teacher wouldnt turn around so I ask the student by her, why is this taking so long. Hoping the teacher would turn around and address me. He never did. He ignored me. The other student said well you know that is how beauty schools are. I said no its not because I came here before several times and I never had this poor and long service. I waited 5 minutes and told my stylist that I was done. Please take the apron off me. Then thats when the teacher moved and went to figure something out. He assigned the lady who he was helping that said thats how beauty schools are. She got on my head and did a half job. She gave me flat twist and also gave me 3 plants underneath the flat twist that I didnt ask for. Very lazy and very tacky. The teacher had poor organizational skills and poor customer service. My hairdo lasted 2 days. The style was suppose to last 2 weeks. I spent $40 dollars for a hot mess. Oh, and then some lady from the back, a Senior teacher came to smooth things over and to say she was sorry about everything and that my hair look nice and girly playful. Now they know that I should not have been charged for this service. If i wouldnt have asked for another stylist I would have been there until closing or my hair would not have been completed. Sorry is not good enough. The inexperience stylist should have been paired up with an experienced student who knew how to do that style or they need to practice on mannequins first before they try on real people. You cant keep customers that long on the floor like that. Plus clients want a decent hair-do. We paying decent money. Even in the real world. Hairstylist cant make there money by keeping a client 6 hours or more in a chair. This is not realistic. You will lose clients. The flow of the operation went down since December 2018. Mr. Howard, you need to go back to management school. I was very unhappy with your service and the way you assigned your student to me. Sorry was not good enough.I hope you work on this. Very sorry for the quality of service you provided. I will not return. :(

Out of all the Empires this one is the best. But there is normally a line.

Over all its a good service but students burn your ears a lot. Also they talk too much with there fellow students and not paying attention. They need to be trained to give full attention to Costumers coz they are learners and the will avoid burning and hair damage to Coustmers.

TERRIBLE phone etiquette. Please teach your staff the importance of making a good first impression (whether its face-face or via telecommunication), customer service AND the proper way to respond to and answer questions of potential clients over the phone.

I called this location and asked the girl who answered the phone if they accepted a certain credit card. She just said I dont know. After a few seconds of silence I asked her if she could find out. I could hear her talking to someone else and finally she said she asked someone and the other person didnt know. She did not offer any further assistance. Perhaps in addition to teaching hair and nails they should include some basic customer service skills. Needless to say I will not be visiting this location.

Ive visit this location twice and the students TeAngela and Detroit omg really had my wash, dry and flat iron looking amazing. i will say the customer service (front desk) needs improvement!

My hair is roughly hip length and I am very hesitant about letting random folks do my hair BUT Liz did my hair and she did an AWESOME job!!! Would definitely let her do my hair again!!!

Was told on phone Dunwoody took walkins drove to location to be told only take appt..so drove to Northlake location still waiting to get my hair washed..sure its first come walkins but i have been here since 9:30 am its currently after 12..wow..not enough students for service..not sure how my hair will turn out but DOESNT MATTER AT THIS POINT!!..will not return..

When I arrived at 12:52, for my 1pm appt for a facial, I learned 20 minutes later that the facialist student had left for lunch. She was the one who scheduled the appt the day before and was well aware of the appt. Now I am waiting to see if they can reschedule. Do not come here.
