I moved to Aurora, CO with a 7th grader last fall and am very happy with our choice to attend AXL Academy. They are an incredibly caring staff willing to interface with parents to preserve and grow a very solid community.I can say with certainty that it is the first school in my now 8th graders school career that has garnered excitement to attend each morning. That’s says a lot!I feel that my kiddo is advocated for, safe, and learning important social and academic skills that will support them in life.If you are on the fence about enrolling, I hope my feedback helps:)

Me and my best friend have gone to this school together for 7 years. We are now in 8th grade about to graduate. I grew up with this amazing school with the kind caring teachers. They helped me through good and bad and helped me find myself and learn not just about the world but also myself. I am so thankful that we found this school all those years ago. Thank you AXL, i will be sure to visit someday even after I graduate.

I think this so is terrible I hated so much I went to AXL. From 1st grade to 5th,and 4th was the worst for me it got so bad I hate that school never go there!! If you can blend in and not talk and don’t drag attention to yourself by clothes or whatever honestly,IF you really care about yourself then DO NOT go there, only go if you wish but be were, if you dare!

The school used to be great about 4 to 5 years ago. They have no concern for student safety anymore. Children are being bullied and they do nothing. It is my belief that the school doesnt care because they care about numbers more than safety. This school is lacking communication skills with parents. I have had 2 children in that school 1 graduated 8th grade and another I pulled because nothing was being done about bullying. Theyre also dysfunctional and unorganized. Theres a whole long list that I can put on this review but I feel that everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

The principal plays the most important role of the school. Unfortunately, the principal of this schoool is lacking skills to fulfill this extremely important role. Hopefully the inexperienced principal takes serious course of action to get with the program, or they replace her for the sake of the children.

My son came from APS, where he was miserable. I have not seen such passion from my son about school and learning EVER. Axl Academy was a huge gift to my son. He comes home everyday telling us about all kinds of stuff hes learning. He feels at home there. The worlds biggest thank you to the staff, who has ignited a spark for learning within my son. You make it fun for the kids. Props to you, for everything you do for our kids and this community.

The Principle and Teacher Miss Cheeta or Chidi ( which is not her real name, but I will find your real name) should be fired for negligence, and emotional abuse to a child. How dare you have a whole class bully a child saying it was a teaching lesson, telling him that nobody loves him. Made this child feel so low that the only thing he thinks is to take his own life. No this is unacceptable. You need to be stripped of your licences. Im taking this to the news/facebook/Twitters. Does any one else know she was allowing your child to bully another child? This school deserve no stars. Police are involved.Update: 11/27/2018 She is still working there. Even during the investigation this school has allowed her to work. The investigation was founded to be TRUE that she did these aweful things to this child. Aweful human being. This school knows what it needs to do, this is unethical of her, and should be fired OR have her sit down in the middle of the room and bully her by all the parents. Its only fair. By the way they didnt even call the mother of the child when this happened nor did they call when he tried to take his life because they are trying to hide behind a glass wall.12/6/2018 This is outrageous. I am not going to lose my brother because of this women. She still works here you can find her in the facility index. Cheetah how would you feel if this was your child? How would you react to someone like you bullying him/her?12/29/2018 You did not take appropriate action. She should have been suspended while the investigation was going through. She was not. Then fired once it was founded to be true. She was not. She also didnt tell the parent that he tried to commit suicide at the school till after school was out. REMEBER THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. No this is not ok. It was not handled in person properly eaither. All we obtained from you was back lash. Asked what is your policy for bulling by a teacher was, you know what the front receptionist said You have google, google it. What kind of answer is that. Are you kidding me? You are all adults act like it. Fix the problem, why is she even still working for you?

I have attended AXL Academy from 6th grade to 8th grade. The experience here, so far it has been amazing. I have learned to open up my shell and show the real Angelicah. I have made so many friends that I still love till this day and I am so grateful that I have attended AXL Academy 2015 through 2018. Parents, if you are reading this review, I highly suggest you to put your child in this school. AXL Academy gives out extra credit that raise your GPA by a lot. Parents, if you want your kid(s) to succeed in life, it starts all of at AXL Academy. As a female who always gets honor roll, I highly suggest this school for anyone who wants to succeed in life. The fact that it is my last year at AXL Academy (Class of 2018!) , I want to leave this wonderful place with a legacy. Keep on trying and never give up even though it is hard. Nobodys perfect at this school. We are all learning new things and learning from our mistakes. And, when you learn and fall from your mistake, you can stand right back up and continue. I hope this review of this school has inspired anyone who would like to get an application for this school. Thank you so much for anyone who has read to the bottom of this review. And, remember go AXL Owls!

This is our first year here and let me say the school knocked me off my feet (in a very good way) even before the school year started. My daughter transferred from Prairie Middle School which is supposed to be one of the BEST school districts. Unfortunately, we were in one of the worst schools within the district and as a result suffered in more way than one throughout 6th grade. So making a change was necessary and we are so thankful we were accepted into AXL Academy. The staff does not hesitate to give you email address, where they actually reply back within hours and even go out of their way to ensure your questions/concerns are answered completely. In addition, my daughter is on an IEP and not only did I get emails and phone calls to ensure a smooth transition, but I was able to have a phone conference with the principle to give him details about the IEP where I was assured everything would be handled as needed and outlined on her IEP. I showed up for orientation and the principle not only remembered my name (which is a hard one), but also remembered my daughters name (remember he never met us, we only spoke once via phone). During orientation Megan met both my daughter and I at the front office and personally walked us around the school and introduced us to all of the 7th/8th grade teachers, who all were just as impressive, kind and professional as the rest of the staff. We are now 3 weeks into school and my daughter LOVES going, has tons of friends and does not cry everyday when I drop her off. This school has been a blessing in so many ways and I cannot thank the teachers and administrative staff enough for making us feel at home and welcomed so early on. I am only excited to learn and grow as the year goes on. I actually want to attend everything this school has to offer not only parents, but my daughter as well (like the cooking class offered every Wednesday after school-this is 1 of the many after school activities you can choose from) Last, Mackenzie who runs the YMCA before/after school program is also a huge bonus (WE LOVE HER). Everything and everyone at AXL Academy are what we have been missing since starting middle school. I only wish I had found them entering into 6th grade. I will give up the lockers any day for a school like this. It is so hard watching your child suffer at a school that does not prompt kindness and a safe learning environment, so THANK YOU EVERYONE for making it a happy, safe, academically challenging and rewarding school to attend.

My two sons came from Cherry Creek Schools, but were not given enrollment because of shrinking class sizes and cutbacks. We had also moved into Aurora Public Schools district line, so I put my sons into the neighborhood schools. I was highly disappointed with the progress that they were making and the attention each of the boys were receiving, so I began to shop for alternatives. When I saw a flyer for AXL Academy I was immediately intrigued. My boys finished the year in the neighborhood schools and this year started AXL. They have literally catapulted above and beyond where I think even Cherry Creek Schools would have taken them. Within 6 months my sons were far above my expectations.
