I have over 20 years experience in the Education field and Ive chosen to work at High Point Academy for its dedication to students. I have enrolled my child at HPA because of the well-rounded curriculum. I recommend HPA to my family members, friends, and neighbors who are looking for a PK-8 intimate setting, where kids are safe, healthy, happy, and known!

I have 3 grandchildren that attend this daycare. They are the best with my grandchildren. Mr. Adam is amazing with the 2 boys. The information they come home to tell me is amazing. I am very impressed with the this teacher and would recommend this daycare to all of my friends. My granddaughter is 3 and is learning Spanish, know all the parts of a book. She is also well taken care of. She is so happy when I pick her up and all the storys she tells me on the way home is just amazing. Again the best daycare ever.

This school is a great school overall but it really depends on you.this school is great I meet some of my best friends.school has always been hard for me but these teachers have a calm feel. I know I can always go to them with personal problems and school problems and that’s exactly how a school should be!

I spent one year in this school as well as two of my siblings and have never had worse school experiences since then even after seven more years of school. The staff is including the PE teachers and the principal were very discouraging throughout my time spent there and were a part of the bullying problem themselves. The harshness eventually motivated us to move out of the state.

This school has set my kids up for failure. The school has gotten worse and worse. Many families have felt and the teacher turn over rate is equally as high. No organization and very poor communication. This year teachers have started using generic emails v actually addressing individuals needs and concerns. My biggest regret is not listing to my gut and skipping this school. We wasted years and it’s going to take a lot to get my kids back to where they were before they came to this want to be school. Do yourself a favor and don’t even bother. Their school culture is very poor and there is no camaraderie and certainly no leadership! They fail on all points, Academics, sports, clubs, school culture, leadership, and, activities. They lack in funding so severely they lost their sports field and don’t have enough staff or parking to accommodate the families they currently serve. There is not a proper janitorial or cleaning service and many times the bathrooms and cafeteria remain in very unkept conditions. The security is greatly lacking. Parents can walk in and walk freely through the building without preconditions or a raptor system. They have a front door intercom and still do not vet visitors prior to entry. They practice many unsafe actions daily at the risk of their students. Hopefully they get new leadership and undergo drastic changes as the current operation is a detriment to their students and the community.

This school is going downhill. I have been going here since kindergarten and so has my brother and he is now in high school. The first problem is the cafeteria doesnt look sanitary at all. They have the door open the whole day so flies and bugs anything could come in. Next the teachers. I have been lucky with having some good teachers bu recently most of them have been leaving and going to different schools. This may not be correct but I think its because they dont like the school. Some teachers give a lot of work and barely any time to finish it. Also they have this whole month for anti-bullying month but nobody really does anything about it some of the teachers either ignore the bullying or are oblivious to it. Next half of my friends left the school because their parents dont like the school anymore. The only thing decent is the basketball and football teams. Theyve been to the playoffs the past 2 years. Im hoping my seventh grade year will be better otherwise I am leaving

I have not been in the school, however my granddaughter who is very open and honest loves her school. That alone tells me so much about High Point Academy. She has grown In “LEAPS and BOUNDS’ . Her confidence, and abilities to understand learning as a gift and a process are recognized. I HAVE ENJOYED HER JOURNEY MAYBE , AS MUCH AS SHE HAS! This is a blessing for many! Thank you HPA. fot your diligence.

Honestly i hated my experience at highpoint academy though there were the few good teachers/staff there at highpoint like rendon, jackson, cornell, Li, carrillo, and sherwood who basically CARRY the school on their BACKS being the only highlight of my time at that school not only do the other teacher act as push overs or aggressively disrespectful they don’t thoroughly teach well enough. i’ve wasted away at this school for over 5 years and i feel as i gotten a better education when i was in first grade then i’ve gotten now. moving on to the disrespectful aggravating children that for some reason highpoint likes to attract there. i don’t know if their goal was to make them better but they’ve only grown to be even more immature and distracted MY learning time. it was my last year here and i honestly feel as if i’ve only gotten the best education in mr sherwoods classroom everywhere else teachers lacked of effort or students disrespected and distracted i personally feel idiotic and not prepared for highschool. moving onto specials classes i’m honestly disappointed with few. ms. cain and ms. homberg gave me attitude for no reason as i always compose myself to be my best respectful self considering it is my last year. mr tuck made my year better so their is nothing wrong with him. mrs lawdon as well she’s a sweet soul but students walk all over her as well which is not fair to her.spanish and drama ended up becoming a failure such as most students at this school who couldn’t put in their all because of others or didn’t try to put in their all . and then mr g his class is fun and all but he honestly tried to hard to be laid back and chill and trendy it made me uncomfortable. i’m not going to speak on the cafeteria food like that but it honestly made me feel sick most days which i didn’t appreciate i’ve had to pay HUNDREDS of dollars for cheap uncomfortable uniforms that i’ll never have to wear again thank goodness and honestly the school was extremely poor. if i didn’t live so close i wouldnt have gone to this school :(

My daughter has been going to High Point since pre-K on up and she really looks forward to going to school. The students seem happy and welcoming as well. It’s really the best school in the Green Valley Ranch area. They have a holistic approach to teaching, making sure they educate not only math, science, and reading, but how to be a community leader, how to live a healthy lifestyle, how to advocate for yourself, and to be kind to others. We love the person our daughter is becoming and we appreciate HPA’s positive influence. I am also impressed how easily my daughter started reading, she still loves reading everyday, thank you for making the process painless.

High point academy is going downhill. They have cut educational assistants for 2019 so they will only have a teacher on the classroom. That is not enough with these kids.I subtituted at this school 5 years ago and it was great, but now kids are disrespectful and rude, and no good behavior rules from the admin.

Worst school I’ve ever been to. My sister and I went to this school from the time I was 5 to the time I was 10. I have horrible memories of being bullied by not only the students but the teachers too. I am now 13 years old and I’m still scarred. My sister was chased into a restroom by 4 girls who were beating on the stall while she called my mom begging for help. By the time my mother got there they had her pinned against the lockers trying to hit her. The girls were not suspended nor was there any evidence that they got into trouble at all. When I was in the 3rd grade I was pushed down on the playground out side by one of the kids. I don’t know about y’all but my parents raised me to know that anytime someone puts their hands on me I have full right to stand up for myself, and that’s what I did. I ended up scratching the boy across the face and then the bell rang. When I came into school the next day I was brought into I think her name was Mrs. Graid? Grade? I don’t know. Anyways I was brought into her class and was accused of bullying that same kid. When I said I hadn’t done such thing they sent me to the principals office and accused me of lieing. This school complains so much about bullying yet they don’t realize that the posters they put in the halls do nothing. I was a student of High Point Acadmey, and I’m glad to say I am no longer one. This school scarred me for life and I am now homeschooled. For the sake of your children’s safety do not put them in this school please.

Gets worse and worse each year. My kids have been going there 3 years at least. So lets start by saying in the whole 3 years, parking has been a complete joke. You either have to park at the bottom of the hill most times, or in the dirt a bit farther aways. Theyve grown too big for their facility. Most of the teachers in the classrooms are ok, as in polite, and helpful with your children; however, many others and especially staff are rude. An example of this is it was 28 degrees out this morning and a nice maintenance man who doesnt even work there, let me and my 2 kids, as well as around 8 other kids stand inside the first set of the doors. Theres another set stopping people from going fully inside. A very rude lady came out at 7:35 saying to go outside, keep in mind they let people in at 7:45. I told her its cold for these kids outside, and she said well then Im sure you can wait in your car.Keep in mind these kids, waiting with me were dropped off, they have no cars to go to. So we then had to wait outside for 10 minutes as teachers with their children come in with their badges, because of course these rules about freezing outside dont apply to teachers kids. Lastly they have a horrible security process. They will make you believe your kids are safe, but their Grandma, who is not on any approved list, no picture id, etc, was allowed to see my kids at lunch. She was just given a name tag. Now granted this is ok with me, as their grandma is a wonderful person, but parents please just know that anyone can come in and see your kids. My 7 year old also tells me how she hates school every day, kids are mean to her, etc. Now thats just a side note as every kid may experience those feelings no matter where they go, but it adds to my over all distaste for this school. The only good thing i can really say is that my kids get good grades, so their curriculum must be decent. Bottom line though is that I will be taking my kids out mid year and moving them to another school as overall things have been getting progressively worse, not better.
