I went in to dye my hair bright pink for the first time! The atmosphere was amazing! Everyone was so welcoming! Kourtney did my hair and she was SUPERB! I HIGHLY recommend going here for all your hair etc. needs! I will 100% be back!

I had an incredible experience at Baldwin Beauty School!! I went in with a vision of what I wanted and Nick went above and beyond. He was very patient, attentive and truly put his time and care into my hair. I absolutely love my new look!!! It’s better than I could’ve imagined. I am excited to come back here and get a touch up in a few weeks. If you want high quality and care - I’d definitely recommend for someone to come to Baldwin!!

Its my first time here and first time coloring my hair too. I have very long hair and nick, my hair stylist did good for the first time. Ask for him and he will take good care of you. And his instructor jumped in to help with my hair cut as again I have very long hair. Loved my first experience. Will come again

Had most best experience ever , Jo is very friendly and helpful good on what she does , Sam and Hannah were very friendly and worked together very well I’m very pleased and happy with my new colors and hair cut style, I would recommend everyone to come to this beauty school.

Student was nice and tried to help in the right way, instructor however was really rude. It does not seem like they are teaching students right at all, the student would see something could be done one way while the instructor literally force them to do something completely wrong. Tried this place to see if I wanted to sign up, think Im better off even learning from youtube. Hopefully i can get someone to save this terrible mess.

I really like how my hair turned out. It took longer than expected but it was a student so I forgive that part. The part I did not care for was how lax they are on masks. Joanna the teacher never wore a mask in the almost 5 hours I was there. In that time she put her hands on clients and stood instructing in very crowded groups of people. Absolutely no social distancing to compensate for the lack of mask. I saw several students walking around without masks and most of the girls had them down past their nose. Whether we want it or not we are living through an active pandemic. I want to go to a place that takes it seriously. I’m not sure if I will be back until they up their safety protocols.

I am extremely pleased with my new haircut!!!This was my first time to have my hair cut at a beauty college. I have baby fine straight hair that anyone with this type of hair knows can be a styling challenge.KUDOS BRIANNA!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been coming to Baldwin Beauty School for years now. The staff are always friendly and professional. I’ve gone to different students and they always do a great job with my hair. They are closely supervised by their supervisors. I just had my a balayage done, by Ashley, and I love it. I would definitely recommend them.

Great haircut experience

I came in with a groupon coupon with not very high hopes, as I have a very dark/coarse Indian hair just wanted to try if my hair would get any color for the style I wanted. Surprisingly I did.Marina did excellent job on getting the color on my hair. Joanna helped to determine and help me with the products which suit my hair needs!Carmen did wonderful job on blow drying my hair and giving it a final great look.!!Overall it’s a wonderful experience than I thought I would get. Definetly coming back again for a new look!Thank you Marina, Joanna and Carmen.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!Jordyn was absolutely the most amazing cosmetologist I have ever been to, even at high end salons. She literally took all day, to correct the damage I have done to my hair. She transformed my hair, and made me feel so comfortable and confident. I would recommend jordyn to anyone and everyone!! Absolutely amazing service and salon!! I went in with box dyed, dark hair in plus poor condition and left with exactly what I wanted. Joanne, the instructor, was so amazing. She watches over the girls with an awesome eye, and takes a personal interest in the clients. I know without her, the girls doing my hair would have been less confident. However, that being said, Victoria, or Tori, and Chantal were amazing. They took their time, and were incredibly thorough. I was so happy with the results, which I had been told I couldnt do. They used olaplex, and did a great cut before and after to make sure there were no wonky ends. I am truly amazed and grateful to these ladies. My hair is so soft and vibrant!!!! Thank yall again for my new awesome blonde!!!!

The students who worked on me were very nice and did a good job but a couple of the teachers were very unprofessional. What I had done took hours which is understandable. Closing time came and the lights were turned off while the student was trying to finish my hair. My hair was still wet when they turned off the lights! The student had to rush while a couple of the employees were yelling at him. Never again!Some of the staff is unprofessional and need better training.

I rarely get my hair done because it is so long, it’s expensive and usually takes half a day to get it done. I went to Baldwin Beauty school on a Friday, was quickly greeted by a nice lady behind the desk. Within two minutes a very friendly, spunky blonde came and introduced herself, her name was Megan and she would be by stylist. She did an amazing job, I got lowlights, highlights and a haircut. My new hair goes great with the new me! And the best part I didn’t have to spend my entire day or entire paycheck at the salon. Megan, you were awesome and can’t wait for my next appt.

Horrible experiences with different services. I figured, being a school, they would have a forte- messed up coloring, dying and even a regular ol trim!! If you insist on going, make sure you feel comfortable with the student- the last one I had started hacking away and when I pointed out she was going to short, she admitted she didnt even know what an asymmetric cut was-- after she already started!? -___-

Much like with the South Lamar location, its tough to go wrong with this Baldwin, since their strengths are still present: cheap, friendly, and usually decent. As a guy with normal hair I dont have a lot to tell my haircutters, so the fact that these neophyte stylists manage to do a good job nearly every time with my goofy hair is a good sign. A haircut for $7 is hard to turn down in this current era of gourmet stylings and cut+beer+sports+straight razor premium places, so even though these students will sometimes not get your look quite right on the first pass, be patient with them, correct their mistakes, and bask in the knowledge that you can get practically any cut you want for the price of two beers. They work for you! Never has the relationship between student, teacher, and client been so open and so beneficial.

Quick to blame customers for students mistakes. My hair being orange is clearly my fault.

This is a student review for anyone thinking about going here. I rated this a one star because i dont think its professional and doesnt give you the best education for the beauty industry. If you are thinking about going here PLEASE READ!First when i met with jeremy the director i was told about the curriculum and what i would learn. the application process was easy and was accepted. the tuition price was alright but i could have gone somewhere cheaper and save myself travel time and stress.First day was a not what i expected based off of what i was told in my tour. Everyone does not wear the school shirts or appropriate pants and shoes. I was told during my tour that everyone has to wear the school shirt, non slip shoes, and black pants. most students take that as a suggestion. Some people will where leggings, heels, sandals, black shirts, and jackets.First month was not much better i learned quickly not everyone will do their chores. some will hide or others will pick up the slack. Next i learn that debby at the front has favorites. if you are her favorite she will give all the clients, the easy ones, to you and her group. If she doesnt like you she will give you the complicated clients or non at all. Also she likes to get services done a lot and will leave. Then i learned the book work is just busy work really. Yes you will learn the basics but if they dont get clients and no one wants to practice with you its a way to get you to stay out of the way. AND sometimes they dont have the key, the answers, to the homework so then you dont know for sure if your answer is right! you sit around a lot bored so take that time to do online learning.During my time here i learned dont make friends quickly this is like a reality high school. students gossip, teachers gossip, Wendy will get all up in your business about your personal life and calls herself a counselor. So just beware you are here for 8 hours day four days a week with these people and they will break you. Sometimes the one teacher will tell you answer and then two days later another teacher will correct you and say thats wrong. They never agreed on prices. I also learned that the people with more hours, who will graduate soon, dont come in early or will clock in and out a lot. This shouldnt matter to me but when we had guest speakers the teachers were scrambling for students from other programs to come and listen just so it looked like it was a full house. One embarrassing moment when a guest speaker came was when the speaker instructed to use a product one way, and the teacher said but you could use it this way. The speaker got real serious and said never do that. So then i started to question am i learning the right information. On a different note cos students only spend maybe two or three days OUT OF THE WHOLE PROGRAM learning about waxing and facials.... that is it! if you just want to do hair thats fine but if you want to know everything then it sucks. Then there is sanitation that we are suppose to learn before going on the floor, that doesnt always happen. Also no everyone does the full process of each step which is gross. So dont share tools! Oh and sometimes who ever is on laundry will leave wet towels in the washer over night OR EVEN THE WEEKEND!Graduation came and after hearing too many graduation speeches i realized jeremy says the same thing, a teacher you didnt connect with will tell you what a great student you are and sometimes wendy will chime in and i only met with her and hand full of times. So if you want thinking about going here beware of tuition price, cleanliness, and thieves (there were a few cases of theft even when everyone was searched).I say one last thing. I graduated over 6 months ago so some of this might have changed. so get a service done and talk to one of the students. I have worked at my salon for two months now and felt like just an idiot because i didnt know certain things that my other coworkers knew.

They are way to cocky they aint even that good I when in for a college type visit and they pretty much insulted me saying me Becoming cosmetology and actually do good in the business I got my head in clouds BC Im 17 almost 18 even tho I have already had training over 15 hours in April for fashion runway like I think 5th avenue and Aveda are way mire friendly places to go BC a friendly environment is one of the main things I look for in a place which this place is lacking in idk why ppl think this place is so great to me it isnt especially the fact that the manager or whatever you want to call him he was bashing on other cosmetology schools which isnt right

Came in and asked for a service and got something totally different. I was charged more than the Groupon price, when usually at least a business will give you the Groupon price. The girl was very nice, but messed up in the front, just ignored the blunder, didnt offer to fix it or to get me to the color I wanted. The instructor came to my chair in front of everyone and asked for me to pay some outrageous amount for a student to do my hair before my service was even done, it was very uncomfortable. The instructor said she wanted to close the register, but I still had an hour, she quoted me a lower price and then charged me a professional salons price.1. The prices are too high for students to do your hair2. There should be no payment until after your service.3. If you dont get what you asked for you should not pay or it should be made right until the hair is corrected and you are satisfied.4. The instructors should be professional and polite.
