Awesome place and wonderful people. I stopped in to visit from out of town, and the people there couldn’t have been more nice and friendly. The gym is full of strong technical practitioners at every size, and some incredible world class athletes train there as well! Had such a great experience and can’t to go back.

I researched a ton of gyms in the Austin area and this one, in my opinion, offers the best instruction and highest level of competition for both adults and kids, while also creating a humble and welcoming environment. Every coach here is exceptional and they are really good with kids. Both my kids train here and have grown in their self confidence and discipline as a result. I train here in the adult class and have met a lot of amazing people along the way. Honestly cant provide a high enough recommendation of this place. Great people, exceptional instruction, great community, and an environment focused on getting better without ego.

If you’re a beginner, the white and blue belt classes are incredible and very efficient in getting you to the next level (whatever that is for you). If you’re advanced, the upper belt class (both gi and no gi) is easily the best training in Austin and maybe even Texas. If you are a competitor in the Austin area there is absolutely no better training atmosphere full stop. Professor Tackett and Professor Steele are both world class competitors and everyone’s training and skills are elevated because of them. Training here is an absolute no-brainer for me.

Best jiu-jitsu gym in Austin hands down! Professor Rodrigo has developed some of the best BJJ competitors in the world yet all of them are super humble and welcoming. So whether you are looking to try your first jiu-jitsu class or you are an active competitor, I would highly suggest checking out Brazilian Fight Factory!

Dropped in for a class to check out the place yesterday and had a great experience. BFF has a great reputation, and after going for myself I can tell that the community is very close and supportive. It’s always a little awkward dropping into a gym as an outsider, but the team was very welcoming and made themselves available to walk me through class after taking almost all of 2020 off from Jiu Jitsu. I definitely plan on going to more classes here.

Huge respect to Rodrigo Cabral (instructor). Been training here close to a year now. Its a solid place for all levels even beginners and competitors. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, there is no room for egos. You train and you learn. The instruction given from all instructors, is well articulated. Every body mechanics detail is clearly and concisely explained for each technique: weight shift, pressuring, positioning, etc. You will drill and you will roll with everyone. The training is tough and glorious. Ive also lost 20lbs since Ive been here with significant improvements to my body composition. Looking to shed some pounds? Do a class at least 3-5 times a week ( I guarantee you will see results in the first 3 months)

There is also a lot of roll on the classes which is great. I really cant think of any problems with this place.

BFF is the premier Austin Jiu Jitsu school for the serious competitor and for the casual hobbyist. Rodrigo is a friendly guy, a great coach, and boasts the finest team of competition athletes anywhere outside the coasts (and before too long, my money is on Will, Kody, and Andrew making Austin the new jiu jitsu hot spot.) Even though the team absolutely has the toughest, most technical guys in town, it’s still an incredibly friendly and fun environment for beginners and hobbyists. If you’re looking for a place to train in North Austin, or if you’re serious about training with the best, BFF is the spot.

Our instructor, Rodrigo, is the real deal. He rolls with all his students and is truly on another level than any other instructor Ive met. Look any of them up on youtube and you will know it is for real. They have an amazing competitor girl Tiffany Butler who is the Pan American champion. It is no surprise that all of the competitors train at the same place. The Best gym, in Austin if you really want to train and get in shape. Excellent group of people. Rodrigo trains on the mat everyday with everyone. That speaks volumes. Other gyms in the area the instructors do not train. Best place to train. No ego and no drama.

I have been training at Brazilian Fight Factory for 5-6 years now and have nothing but positive things to say about training there.Rodrigo Cabral is a great instructor who clearly loves Jiu Jitsu. He is constantly on the mat training with his students and researching new technique and strategy to bring to the lessons. He has a huge wealth of knowledge in the grappling arts, teaching classes with elements of wrestling/judo and jiu jitsu, gi and no gi.Both of my children (5/7) have attended the kids classes at the gym and I would definitely recommend the classes. The atmosphere is fun and engaging for them and the technique they are being taught is world class. The kids class is taught not only by Rodrigo (a 3 stripe black belt) but also by several purple and brown belt competitors who provide excellent instruction and are able to spend time one on one with the kids to correct any mistakes and make sure they are fully absorbing the technique. In my jiujitsu journey i have trained at a variety of gyms and i feel very lucky to train at BFF.

June – 2015: I’ve been training at Brazilian Fight Factory for about 5 months now. The most obvious testament to credit Professor Rodrigo’s teaching is his students. The students that have been training with him for a while are all very skilled; they regularly represent well at tournaments. Professor Rodrigo is very good at breaking down and demonstrating complex techniques in an understandable format, giving feedback during practicing, and offering alternatives to accommodate individual strengths or limitations. There is good diversity in the school; the noon class I attend regularly has students of every belt level; this offers lots of opportunity to train with students of different skill levels. There is a noon class every week day, as well as lots of evening classes.I enjoy knowing Professor Rodrigo, he is a world class BJJ instructor, cares about his students, and has many years of experience to draw upon when offering advice. The overall program and teaching is well rounded and accommodating to all skill levels. I trained at another facility for about one year (no longer in business) and I am delighted that I found a new Jiu-jitsu home, Professor Rodrigo is well qualified and a great teacher; the other students are great on the mat, and nice folk off the mat; the overall environment is very encouraging.

I would highly recommend taking classes here.First, the head instructor, Rodrigo, is extremely well-qualified. As a successful tournament competitor and a 3rd degree black belt, he has the technical knowledge to teach the small details that make techniques effective. (Its worth noting that unlike in many other martial arts, ranks in BJJ really do correlate strongly with skill level. They dont hand out black belts in 2 years in BJJ.) Even more importantly, Rodrigo takes a genuine interest in students progress, regularly teaching the classes himself and training with students, instead of delegating all the teaching. That said, the assistant instructors (Josh and Kody) are also very capable and willing to help.Second, training here will help you regardless of what your martial arts goals are. A number of the students are dedicated tournament competitors, but this is by no means forced upon students. Ive met people here ranging from software engineers who just want to learn a practical martial art, to professional MMA fighters. Regardless of what your goal is, people here are supportive and will work with you to help you get better. I was honestly expecting at least a few big egos at the gym, but so far I havent met any--your training partners have a genuine interest in helping you succeed.

If you are new to Jiu Jitsu, I cant think of a better place to be taught by a true master like Rodrigo Cabral. He is considered one of the best if not the best instructor in Central Texas, and he has been teaching at ALL of my classes. You cant beat that. His instruction is clear, and he goes into more than just the techniques. He explains the context and the physics of the move as a concept. It allows you to better understand and apply the principles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You get excellent access to Rodrigo even during class, and the rates are unbelievably reasonable for someone of his caliber. If you are more advanced, you will be rolling with some of the most experienced and active competitors in Austin. Rodrigo Brucutu Cabral is internationally known, and one of the best in the world. He has competed and taught internationally and in the states for years.People in this gym compete at tournaments often, but it is not forced on you if you are not interested. People like to say there are no egos in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but that really is true about the Brazilian Fight Factory. Everyone is focused on helping the team get better.
