This place just recently opened but I have known the coach and management of this school for several years now. They are absolutely top notch. If you are in the Austin area, this is the school where you should train. The BJJ coach (Ruy) is an excellent black belt coach whom works well with all ages. The management treat people like family without the politics and egos. They are building a great team down in Austin.

When I moved to Austin, I went to many BJJ schools before choosing which one I wanted to train at, and though I don’t have anything negative to say about the other schools, what I will say is that Brazilian Top Team was by far the best one. Their classes are structured and fast paced. You’ll learn more in one week then you’ll learn in months in other schools. Ruy is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced coach and he’ll be able to break down all the techniques you’ll need to know to become a savage in BJJ!! If you have a chance definitely come train with us.

Brought my 5 year old for lessons, since they claim they are great for child advancement.... please, PASS! Coaches are not really dedicated, just want the money and the memborship. Classes are not organized, and all over the place. Really wanted this place to work out since its nearby but, sorry, will be going to HK Taekwondo instead. See ya later!

BTT Austin is the best!! Ruy runs this place well. My son attends kids classes here and I cant imagine a better place to be. The instructors for the kids are top notch (Ruy, JoJo, Johan). They care about each kiddo and really take the time to show them to be respectful and how to do things the right way. We could not ask for a better gym.

One of the best coaches I have ever trained with is Professor Ruy Frade!!! His jiu-jitsu technique and enthusiasm in class are truly inspiring. His wife Patricia is also a black belt and world champion. Highly recommend jiu-jitsu academy, if you are in town you must go try the classes for sure.

I trained at BTT for 6 months as a blue belt. My bjj has gotten a lot better during that time. Prof Ruy explains techniques in detail. At every class he has come to me while i was drilling and given individual instruction. Ive rolled with him countless times (thats a big deal. only go to a gym where profs roll with their students). He also gives me pointers while Im rolling. My entire time there he has always treated me with nothing but respect. Prof Ruy is a decent man who genuinely cares about the sport and all his students.I was lucky to be here during the time Prof Ruy was training for the no-gi pan ams. Because I got to witness Prof Ruy crush everyone at 2018 Pan Ams and bring home gold. I also got to witness Prof Ruys professor, Diego, win Worlds gold for the 3rd year in a row. Diego teaches at the Austin school a few times a month. I had the chance to roll with Diego which was awesome. The bjj is very good here. Ive got to see some amazing stuff. One of my classmates choked a guy unconscious from both standing at the Naga tournament. Hahah, just to name a few acts of awesomeness Ive witnessed.I should mention Ive seen big transformations with my classmates. One guy lost 30% of his body mass and went from a dad bod to world ibjjf silver medalist and double gold pan ams medalist both at blue belt. Another dude came to gym as a recovering addict. While there, he got in the best shape of his life, got married, an won many tournaments. Stories like these are only possible because of the solid support structure found here.
