So far my experience working here has been very good. Mrs. T and Ms. Kulani have been nothing but kind to me. All of the teachers that work here are also really kind hearted. The teacher that I work with is also really amazing as well (Ms. Lori) She’s really good to the kids and she teaches them so much. I’m definitely happy here. I love so much about this school. They have some very smart children attending. I love the teacher to child ratios, it gives the teachers more time to spend with each child individually and allows them to teach the child. I was amazed to see how independent these children were and the things they do on their own. I also like how they have cameras. Not a lot of preschools have those. I also think the parents that take their kids to this school are very good parents! I’m just all the way around impressed with this school and I genuinely mean that.

We cannot say enough great things about how amazing the teachers, Ms. Kulani and Ms. T are! I have recommended ACM to so many parents because of how wonderful they have been developing our child. I can say my 5 year old will start school in the 1st grade because of the education here! Don’t believe the other reviews, it’s from an unhappy former employee. Take it from a parent, if you can send your child here, DO IT!!

My daughter has been attending ACM for about 4 months now, and we could not be happier. She loves going to school to see her friends and the guides! She had been at home with me for the almost two years prior to starting at ACM, and all of the staff was wonderful and supportive during her transition. Her guides were already preparing the other kids for her to start and they were all very excited to have a new friend which facilitated my daughter making friends in the class and getting comfortable quickly. My husband and I have been very happy with the communication from the school and all of the other parents we have met so far have been awesome as well. We are very happy to be part of this community!

I am a current customer with ACM and have been for the last 12 years. I have three children and they all have attended ACM since infancy. I have never had a problem with this school and I am very proud of their services. My children have always been very happy attending this school and they have never complained. All personnel I have met through out the years have been friendly and caring. I highly recommend this school. It is great that they installed a security gate! Shows they really care about the safety of the children!

ACM is truly an amazing school, I have no doubt that my daughter is extremely well care for while at ACM. The teachers and staff are truly wonderful and create a very positive and nurturing environment. Ive seen my daughter grow in many ways during the last two years at ACM, they foster independence, kindness and compassion, while providing ample opportunities for social, emotional and academic growth. Im a former Nanny so Im very aware of what to look for, and after touring several facilities in the Austin area, ACM immediately stood out above the rest as a safe and nurturing place where I could feel good about leaving my daughter. ACM proved to be everything I expected and more; I cant recommend them highly enough.

In ACM, I have found a culture that teaches our children to be mannered, life-long learners in a kind, diverse, and inclusive environment.

My child went to Austin Children’s Montessori School from April to Aug 2011. She was much delayed in her communication and social interaction skills when she joined the school at the age of two and half yrs. To our huge surprise, we saw some dramatic changes in the first two weeks… yes, in the first two weeks. In the five months, she learnt so many things in the school. The teachers are all well trained in the Montessori method. The success of Montessori method in all round development of children has long been established. This school has loving and caring teachers who know children more than anybody else does; the teachers are all well trained in the Montessori method. My child had Miss Lori as her teacher. Miss Lori was absolutely an awesome and the most competent teacher. Prior to moving my child to ACMS, we had really bad experience with a nearby much bigger school. That school (Stepping Stone at Brodie Lane) had a director who cared about nothing but money. That school had extremely incompetent teachers who would not even be aware of the four bites my kid received on her arms on a single day. (I will post a detailed review of that school shortly.) On the contrary, we never saw any bruises or anything alarming at Austin Children’s Montessori. All the children are clean all the time. You won’t see children with nasal drips and discharge. Teachers make sure the children are in clean and healthy environment.Being a Montessori school, the school teaches various skills for an overall growth of a child. And, they do so in a playful way. That is where Montessori method stands out. You might find the school a bit more expensive than others. But, what matters more is not the couple hundred dollars you save per month but the development in your child… and, above all, the caring and positive environment the school provides (if you think all schools are alike in providing caring and loving environment, please read my review for Stepping Stone at Brodie). The director, Ms T, does not tolerate a teacher’s performance if it is anything less than the best. I guess I had only one complaint – the school did not have a gate. But now they do. Thank you ACM for everything we received.

Our daughter attended Austin Childrens Montessori (ACM) from October 2012 - January 2015 and we were extremely pleased with this school from the moment of enrollment. Prior to finding ACM, our daughter was attending a day care and we were growing increasingly dissatisfied with their program and the management of their business (which, subsequently, impacted our daughter). Instead of educational and socialization advancements we had expected, we found that our daughter was actually regressing in some key developmental areas. It was from this experience that we decided to pursue a new school and sought out Montessori education.…And we were certainly happy that we did! We could immediately see the impact that ACM and Montessori had on our daughter in the areas of social development, leadership, independence, and life skills. Over the time she spent in her primary class, she made many advancements in reading, math concepts, geography, languages (Spanish, Sign Language) and we really appreciated the school’s focus on global studies. We were also happy to see that from a social perspective, she has come out of her shell. We attribute this to the ‘safe space’ that ACM represented to her.ACM has a wonderful and caring staff that my family loves and the school, itself, is a clean, safe and nurturing environment. We feel very fortunate to have found ACM. It can be difficult to find a school for your child that meets all of your/their needs, but we found it in ACM. It is a great school and we recommend it to everyone looking for a Montessori school for their child(ren).

I have mixed feelings about ACM, but in the end I am dissatisfied and will be withdrawing my child as soon as I can find another childcare facility. If you dont have time to read this review, beware: You need to make sure you fully read and understand their policy (ask questions if you are the least bit unclear).Regarding the teachers, they are all very friendly and helpful. My daughter seems to like them and enjoys being at school there. The ratio of teachers to children is appropriate, and they are willing to work with cloth diapering. One concern I have is that some of the teachers are not native English speakers and I worry that some of the older children there will pick up on some of the broken English spoken there. For example, as long as Ive been bringing my daughter here theres been a sign on or near the front door which reads Sunshine Laugh (sic) and Friends are Always Welcome. EDIT: This is grammatically incorrect because it should be Sunshine, Laughter, and Friends are Always Welcome. The fact that the director (who has replied to this review) was unable to spot this even when highlighted is case-in-point.The facility is fine and seems to be kept clean. It is converted from a house and provides no security other than a gate which requires a pin to be entered. A gate large enough for a person to walk through is always open and there is enough room to park on the street. The parking is a bit of a nightmare when lots of other parents are there to pick up their children. The tuition is reasonable on the surface, but on occasion I have been nickel and dimed by ACM. ENSURE THAT YOU READ EVERYTHING THEY GIVE YOU VERY CAREFULLY. Firstly, there are frequent holidays which do not affect the cost of tuition. One month of the year, there is a full week where you are on your own and must take off work or hire a babysitter in addition to continuing to pay tuition to ACM if you cannot provide care yourself. Dual income homes and single parents, beware. Secondly, an exorbitant late fee is assessed if you put in tuition any later than three days before the end of the month. They do not actually cash the check until the first day of the month. For each day late, you will be charged 10% of the months cost. The contract says 10% of the normal tuition rate and does not specify if it is 10% of the month or 10% of the day. Im not waiting around to find out what else theyre going to hit me with. When attempting to communicate with the director about issues, she tends to get defensive and evasive. On a few occasions, she has told me that the phone call is breaking up. This is always when Im upset and trying to discuss what I feel is unfair or unclear policy. While I dont know for sure that the call is breaking up, I seriously doubt it. The only straight answer I get from her is that I should re-read the policy, as I agreed to it. When arguing that the policy is not clear, I have been told I should have asked her questions about it.So if you absolutely must bring your child here, read everything they give you very carefully and think about how it might be used against you at some point down the road.EDIT: ACM has just waived the late fee, credit to them on that.EDIT 2: ACM has just removed our daughter from care. The director cited several things noted in this review that were never mentioned elsewhere. While it is not written down anywhere, the timing and the lack of any meaningful interaction with them between the writing of this review and our daughters removal leads me to strongly suspect that our daughters dismissal was due to this review.

I visited this school briefly with a friend that was picking up her child. I witnessed one of the (Indian) infant teachers holding a baby up by one arm and speaking to her in a harsh voice (she had a heavy accent and I couldnt understand what she was saying). The child was screaming. The teacher looked worried when she noticed that someone had seen her. I will not be sending my daughter here.
