Im acquaintances of some students who go to this school, and honestly its pretty good. They dont have any complaints...mostly. I think that they have a nice school, with an okay environment. At competitions such as Festival, their Strings program isnt really great. No offense, but their Band program isnt great either. The Band didnt win Sweepstakes, which many schools did. They trash other schools, as what Im doing, but the only reason why Im doing this, because they brag about their program... so much. Sherwood, not bad, not great.

I enjoy being at SMAMS because we we have teachers that teach us and care about us. We also can have our phones at certain time a day. The teachers are so amazing they don’t give huge assignments like packets they just give us work pages that are so simple and I just love being their!!..😃😁

I honestly love this school. It has such a great atmosphere and Ive been able to make so many friends here. Most of the teachers here are great, though sometimes they tend to move very fast so you must be able to keep up. The art programs here are excellent. Our choir, band, and Orchestra are phenomenal and almost every year we get sweepstakes. We also have our fitness teams, such as Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track. Our teams are amazing too and our gym walls are covered with banners of all the winning championships weve gotten. We also have multiple trophy cases filled with more trophies from us winning. We also have multiple dances/socials throughout the year and theyre really fun. We also have clubs that you can join, such as Beta club, Basketball club, Future Stars club, String instruments club, and many more. All in all, Sherwood is a really great school and I think if you want your child to have the best middle school experience, you should send them to Sherwood. This is coming from an eighth grader who has been at Sherwood from 6th to 8th grade.

This school is good.But i have to agree, some of the teachers all they do is packet after packet and it gets really boring. Some of the teachers give out a LOT of homework.But besides that the school is great.The friends and kindness you can get will always make this school one of the best.

I am a returning student, all the teachers are good and support you no matter what, Gay, Lesbian, Black, Asian, White anything and the teachers wouldnt judge neither would I but my only main problem is some of the students are just straight up rude, I once saw people running away from someone they thought was gay, unlike them I would respect that person, we all are equal none of us deserve to be able to judge each other and I know we cant control anyone but I still will tell how I feel about this I want everyone just to look at someone different and see the similarities, even if there is no visual bullying you can tell everyone is judging you life lesson for me never look a tiger in the eye.

Enjoying the academics, structure, administrative support, and activities available thus far. I have a first year student there and another who will attend next year. Im an active parent, and Im always proactive with my childrens education...but SMAMS need improvement in proactive teacher communication. .not reactive.

Sherwood is the best I wouldnt deny it for a chance. Im in six grade just started 17-18 and its only have been 5 weeks and I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it!

Obviously, since this is a magnet school, this school is a big step up from many other schools. Since I dont go to other magnet schools, I cant say how good it is compared to others. I do enjoy this school very much though, and theres some really great teachers. If you wanted too, you can take 10th grade Spanish, 9th Grade Science, 9th Grade Soc Studies, and 11th grade Math. Im not sure if that is a lot compared to other magnet schools, but I say its impressive they teach that high. The elective programs are extremely good for a NON-arts school. I am in band, and in pretty much every event, it gets top 5. Jazz band even made it to the top 2 performances in the nation last year. I have no idea about choir, though they do great too judging by some of the choir people. The strings program needs some major improvements though, they just dont sound right. They did get sweepstakes though, so maybe its just strings in general. Again, this is a non-arts school, so this is why all the performance programs are extremely impressive. The only things I mainly dislike are the meals, however any public school will server the same. Since Louisiana is the lowest school system in terms of quality and test scores, I think this school is pretty great. if orchestra is reading this you dont have to tell me i made yall look bad ok bye

Awsome foods vood and the socials we have in the school are awsome.

The teachers dont do much except give packets upon packets. Would not recommend.

My friend used to go to this school and its a great school!

They pick on certain students, also had me with child protection at my home accusing me of beating mmy child when I had to sit with ALL her teachers and get told that my student academically was GREAT but her behavior affected her grades but when I disciplined her and they pushed another student to ask her if I whipped her she said yes and they reported me, I am happy this is her last year.
