I was looking for a specific guitar and Guitar Tommy’s was apparently the only place in the country that had one at the time. I live in Colorado and found it out of the blue online while traveling for work in Phoenix! So I was able to stop by and try it out first, and meet the friendly and helpful people that run this shop. They shipped the guitar to me and it arrived in perfect condition with no adjustments needed at all! I would be here all the time if I lived in the area. Thanks Guitar Tommy’s!!!

I entrusted 6 of my guitars and 1 mandolin to get new strings and set ups on 2 of them. Set ups take time and that is to be expected! Took a little less than two weeks which is great. They stayed in contact with me and kept me updated. This is NOT something I would want to be rushed anyways. They came in under previous estimate and saved me money. The bridge on my guitar needed fixed and he said I would need a new one. Then he realized he could use my old one to save me $15. He could have given me a new one to make some extra cash and I wouldn’t have known but he was honest instead. That’s hard to find. Both him and his wife were kind and professional and these guys are officially my go to for all my guitar needs. Tommy knows what he is doing. Ps. I called around for prices on string changes and these guys were the most reasonable by far.

We called after hours just to leave a message but the happen to be there doing some repairs so they picked up thephone and let us come in, Tommy fixed our guitar right then and let us purchase some strings. We will continue to go there for all our music needs in the future.

I had a basic setup done for a neglected guitar with a fret buzz, and now it plays beautifully. The price was very reasonable and it was finished earlier than promised.

Great staff, the store is completely inviting, and business is amazing. The teacher I had for a 30 minute lesson was real friendly, and straight forward with everything, which I liked. I would highly recommend this to all my friends, and family. Even people I meet who are looking to buy amazing guitars, and gear for their instruments. I loved the experience I had there. My only issue is the no refund policy on booked classes. I booked a class for next week, but I had some last minute events coming up(I just started my own business) which has booked me up next week. I dont see myself having any time now in the future at all, I wasnt expecting my business to pick up so quickly, so as of now I dont have time for anything else but my business with the exception of the family even that happens to be in the same city that Im going to. It would be great to get refund instead of a credit, especially since as of now I wont be able to take any personal time off. So my money is just sitting there, and I am confident I wont have any personal time (I was not aware of the time consumption owning a business would have). From a business stand point, I understand why that would be a policy, but from a logical (or consumer) standpoint, if I havent taken the lesson yet, the money should be refundable since it isnt being used at all other than for booking the time with the teacher. Since its a whole week in advanced technically it isnt a inconvenience for anyone. That is my only issue, I would like to be able to have a refund, and not feel like my money is just going to be stolen (which I highly doubt is the case), since Im not going to be able to book any lessons at all now. Otherwise thats like me throwing $25 dollars away without caring. But I do care, money is going to be tight with me from now until I make my first sales. Thats my only issue again as I said, other than that the store and staff, including Tommy himself are wonderful people, and I still highly recommend this place to everyone whose looking for guitars that are affordable including gear, and lessons as well if you are looking to learn. Tommy is an awesome instructor who is great with kids and gets them excited to play guitar. He came highly recommended so Ive been talking my daughter there for a year now and she leaves every lesson with a smile.

My experience here has always been excellent! My boyfriend and I come here often and we always love that we are welcomed and treated like family. Ive also recently picked up violin lessons as well and have been pleased with how it has been going so far! Guitar Tommys is a great store. He has a good selection of guitars, pedals and amps. If he doess not have something in stock, there is a good chance he can get it for you. Tommy and his staff are knowledgeable and friendly. He has great prices on orchestral rentals. Reasonable fees for lessons and much more. Im happy to have Guitar Tommys in the neighborhood!

I love this place. Theyre a cute little hole in the wall store which has an awesome selection of string instruments. Great prices too! I went in a week ago to order an ukuleke that was out of stock and the guy behind the counter was really cool in helping me order one! Theyre super responsive to messages and also nice to talk with.

As a new ukulele player and overall new to music I always feel nervous going into a new place. Tommy instantly made me feel at home and talked WITH me about something I might enjoy versus being talked AT. It was a wonderful decision to go and I love my new Tenor Amahi! My experience here was great I came in with my family and was able to find what I needed quickly and the male owner was very informative and kind. I was excited to find a local shop that was affordable . Unfortunately my experience didnt go as well. My family came in again, and my son was excited to see an electric drum set and ran inside, before my husband and I could even speak to our son about his behavior the female owner proceded to scold my son . Which made myself and husband offended . We tried to explain to her that we will talk to him and ot would be okay. But she then said things are expensive here . We understand that they are why else would we come to look at an itrm if we werent able to buy it . My husband used choice words and walked out. Im not exaclty sure why we didnt even have a chance to look at any items . This all had happened within a minute of walking in the store. After the fact when tempers had blown over , we sent our son to aplogize to the owner for his behavior. Im sadened that my family and I wont be welcomed to this establishment.

Came in for a possible sell/trade that was flat out insulting. He was extremely arrogant, offered us less than half what everybody else did, and BROKE one of my strings and then tried to SELL ME A NEW ONE. Absolutely horrendous experience. Take your business somewhere else.
