I shop at the location in NYC often, and always have a pleasant experience there. Since I was travelling to Chicago, I thought it would be of the same caliber and I should check it out. Mistake. Staff were more engaged at having conversations with each other than with being attentive. When I did ask for help, they didn’t seem to know their store well enough to know where the product might be. When I did pay for my item the staff member was rude and unwelcoming. Too bad - solid brand but a terrible experience.

My husband and I took the pasta class while vacations no in Chicago. We learned so many cool techniques from Angela. We higly recommend taking this class whtwe you are visiting Chicago or live in the area. Angela and Karla were so fun. It was like cooking with friends and the store was so nice.

Loved the pasta class with Vanessa! Delicious food and the small class atmosphere was great. The employees were a little quiet but nice and helpful. If you take a class you get an in store discount and a discount on any classes you sign up for that day. Took advantage of both and look forward to going back.

On a whim I signed up for class this week on appetizers. Michael R was the instructor. The class was so much fun. The class was hands on and we worked with interesting techniques. Everything was explained thoroughly. I had such a positive experience I signed up for a French baking class the next day! My family will be so impressed with their turnovers Christmas Day. Thank you Sur la Table and Michael R.

Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I went here to purchase a knife for chopping vegetables, knowing nothing about how to choose one. They taught me how to properly hold/use the knife, had me try several different ones by chopping potatoes, and explained the differences between the options.Also, there was strawberry rhubarb pie to eat while choosing (leftover from a previous class)!

Should update hours if the store closes a half an hour early

I love this store for their special classes. I just took one today for pizza making. It was small group, so I feel like a private tour! Teacher was very nice, fun! She took all my questions. Fun to make my own pizza. She also provide several pizza for the classroom. They also serve free coffee for the class. Now I can make my own pizza at home- very easy step. Seeing the chef and trying it out are the best way to learn to cook. Absolutely will go back for another class.

It has to be a requirement to be hired here RUDE customer service, do not look in the eye, do no communicate with customers , just be rude and try to be nice to those that might look like they are rich. 3 csr all just interested in their conversation and not the customers.

They offer cooking classes and have very knowledgeable staff. If youre looking for a specific kitchen utensil they will have it. It is a little expensive
