I recently got my cdl thanks to columbia school. i choose Columbia because they have morning, evening, and weekend classes very convenient for students with busy schedule, they gave me all kind of tools to pass every single test. Ana, the office manager did magic working on my classes and tests schedule, she answered all my questions and she was always available. They dont follow the CDC guidelines ,never sanitized the trucks, the class very tight for the number of students, theres no six feet rule, the owner is a bully cares more about his trucks than how students learn understaffed, instructors dont put mask even they have them , will follow up with the health and adequate city services .

A wonderful school, run by wonderful people. Ive been an Illinois CDL holder for many years (first as a Class C, then followed by Class B). When I decided I wanted to move up to a Class A license and drive the big rigs I asked friends, family, and people I trust in the transit industry for recommendations on CDL schools. Several people told me that they had heard very good things about Columbia from many people in the industry.Im on the north side of Chicago so going with Columbia meant a 30+ mile drive, each way, often in rush hour traffic, twice a week. I wasnt too thrilled about the commute, but I figured if even a fraction of the praise I had heard was true that it would be well worth the trip. I called to sign up for classes and was told I could come in to the office during their hours of operation to register. I explained the long commute and asked if it would be possible to schedule my first lesson for the same day that I would be coming in to register; both Ana and Karolina were very accommodating and granted my request in order to save me an extra trip all the way there just to register. They were both so kind and so compassionate, and I knew right then that I had chosen the right school.Roman, who is either the owner or the instructor in charge of training, was just fantastic. I really looked forward to the weekly classroom sessions where he would share his knowledge of the inner workings of trucks and trailers. Because of my Class C and Class B experience, Ive literally had hundreds and hundreds of hours of initial instruction and refresher training over the years. Roman knew more, and explained things more clearly, than all those other instructors put together. I finished the classroom sessions feeling like I could go out and be a mechanic if I wanted to; thats how thorough and detailed his presentations were.The skills course and on the road training were just as wonderful. I cant say enough good things about both Roman and Jose, who were the ones that took the classroom knowledge and translated it to practical, real-world driving lessons. The two of them taught me how to drive a big rig, and no matter where the road takes me from here I will forever be in their debt. After I passed my road test with the gentleman from the Secretary of State, Roman came over and gave me a big hug to congratulate me. I honestly didnt feel like a student during my time at Columbia CDL school, I felt like a member of the family. Thank you all so much!

Not the best instructors. Only one was actually helpful. Not enough classroom training (only two 2hr courses per week) most of the material you have to study on your own time. Thomas was okay. I would recommend anyone interested in obtaining their CDL to attend a school with more recognition. Good luck! (dont believe the high ratings, be smart and personally ask truckers what school they attended.)

Great school, instructors give you everything you need to be successful at passing the tests and ready to start your career. Roman is the driving instructor, he is very patient and draws things out you have trouble understanding. I Passed all the tests in 2 months!

This is a great school, small classes and lots and lots of individualized attention. They work around youre schedule open Monday through Sunday. Great place to learn also great instructors Spanish speaking a plus.

Terrible service now....... this place was very nice when manage and own by Hispanics, this place was bought out by Polish people whom are disrespectful and will cheat you out of your cdl hours if you are Black. A young lady who is short wears glasses very petitie and has a thick polish accent refused too refund me my money even when I disagree with the terms and even though I hadnt even started the class, they have too give you a schedule first then youre in the program I waited 2 weeks and she wouldnt let me start her answer was I need to pay her $700 every week after the initial $300 down payment and my paycheck every week totaled only $500. I tried to contact her on the date she requested only to find out she took a trip to Europe. Beware if you are an African-American you are not welcome.

I attended COLUMBIA DRIVING SCHOOL few months ago,and I have nothing but great things to say about their program . Got my cdl in less than 2 monthsIf you do go here you have to study 95% of the material that they give you to pass. And only 2 hour classes a week . I didnt go to the classes and i still passed because i studied .Instructors they okThe best one is erek i do recommend him he will help you out alotRoman is okayAnd the other instructor robert i dont recommend .The only problem i had was that they dont teach you how to drive without using double clutch which you will need in order to find workOther schools do teach you double clutch and no clutch driving . Also this school only takes you around the block no big streets or express so you will not learn much here.I would recomend going some were else like juarez or pogressive if you want to learn more things like driving in the express or big streets .But be warned they dont teach you how to drive without clutch , which you will need if you want to work for a company .

Fantastic CDL training school, I was happy to be taught under some great instructors. I got my license in a timely manner and the scheduling is toned around individuals schedules. The school have some fine facilities to facilitate those who are looking to get the CDL Class A, from their office/classroom, training grounds in Bedford Park and their vehicles. Thomas at the office was a great at handling schedules and going through classroom seminars, Irek was a good hands on instructor and Roman the owner/driving instructor was very detailed and meticulous with the instruction of how a truck works and methodology to successfully getting me to pass the test in 1 attempt on pre-trip/skills/road. A highly rated CDL school and it lives to its rating, for their service and training with the provided material, electronic test prep, driving facilities and instructors.

First things first i would highly recommend Columbia driving school to get your CDL, great staff starting from the owner Romen and work my way down the latter, from the office staff Ana and carolina are really helpful and good at working with your schedule. very organized school. also hats off to the instructors zen, Jose, Jerry, Jason, and Tom, they all have there own ways of teaching but i learned a little bit from every one of them guys to pass my final test on the first try.

When I got my license for trucks here in cdl Colombia it was the place that helped me and they didnt charge me much and thanks to them today I work driving it is a good place to take it out and they give you a payment plan so that you dont do much it is a good school to learn to drive trailer for that thanks Colombia school.
