I had Michele Edison as my instructor! She was awesome ! She was patient, and throughly explained everything to me. And I passed my Road test with flying colors! Thank you Ms. Michele and Nova Driving School this was a big deal for me !

I was fortunate enough to have Marquis as an instructor and thanks to him, my driving skills have definitely improved. I wasn’t confident in my abilities when I first started my lessons, but he instilled a lot of confidence in me and I can’t thank him enough for that. He’s definitely the ideal instructor for me. Very laid-back and chill, able to point out areas that need improvement without making me feel bad, and always giving a lot of positive reinforcement. My lessons are always great with him around and I’m so grateful that I was able to request him as an instructor. 10/10 would recommend!

Nova Driving was the very best in teaching! I worked with Michael O primarily and he was so calm, concise, and great when teaching the basics - all while pushing me forward with each class. I came in a bit afraid, because I had never driven in all my 20+ years , but they made it seamless. I did my final lesson (before receiving my license!) with Lawrence and that same experience was conveyed. They make sure you are learning properly and smoothly. I cannot recommend enough.I learned from the Hyde Park location - time to completion was roughly 1 month.

Nova driving school has amazing instructors. One instructor in particular was Marquis McCoy I had him for my last lesson and he was great. He gave me the ability to feel like I was in control while driving. Giving me tips and advice that i will continue to use forever. He’s definitely one person that you should ask for if you want a great driving experience.

I did the ultimate beginner program and it was worth the money. I had marquis and Jeremiah as instructors. Marquis was super calming and helped me to relax and just be more comfortable while driving.Jeremiah is super knowledgeable about everything driving-related and was a great motivator. I had him for my practice test and he literally showed me everything that was on the actual road test, which was SUPER helpful. I got my license on Sat and Im super grateful to the Nova staff! Roger is a great instructor so was Alex and Michelle E. good and patient with beginners. They are great with nervous drivers as well as teens. I just wish the days were consistent with them Alex, Roger and Michelle E. not split up sometimes I had to wait 3 days for my next lesson that wasnt with them. I was also given mixed messages about the date of my drivers exam but thanks to Michelle E I passed and got my license she took me through the entire process and I passed

Yesterday, I had my first driving lesson with Marquis. He was the best instructor I could have asked for as he was very knowledgeable and patient with me, who was driving for the first time. Initially, I was really nervous about driving on the streets for the first time, but Marquis gave me enough confidence and made me feel comfortable driving. I’m really happy I had him as my instructor!

My previous instructor, Marquis was an exceptional teacher. For me, someone that doesn’t talk too much when driving, Marquis and I talked practically throughout the whole drive. He was very communicative and understanding. It’s not like he wasn’t paying attention either. He let me know when I made errors and helped me throughout my entire lesson. He’s a figure of attentiveness, compassion and care for his students, friendliness, and being open. He practices professionalism and humanity; I highly recommend him for any student needing a thorough teacher and friend.

I have an excellent teacher Miss Jennifer Spears ! She helped me feel as comfortable as possible behind the wheel, focused on my weak areas until I improved them , and really explained things deeply. I was once extremely nervous about learning to drive but now I love driving and I feel more confident and excited about it. She’s also provided me with videos to help me learn at home ! She’s the perfect teacher for me I’m a beginner and I look forward to my future lessons.

My experience with Nova Driving School was amazing. I was kinda nervous at first but from the help of my instructor Christina; she made me feel comfortable and was always telling me that she was right by my side. She started me off first in the parking lot but after that was the street and I felt like I wasnt ready but I guess I was. Christina had faith in me and knew that I was going to do good and I did. It was fun, calm, and pretty cool. Im glad to have an instructor like Christina she was cool and calm about my driving even if I made minor mistakes.

Had a great experience! I had no previous driving experience, but Marquis guided me really well - he had all the tips and tricks that made me a capable driver in only a few lessons. I feel confident behind the wheel and passed my driving test with ease!

All of the staff members here are helpful. My teachers, Elizabeth J. and Guillermo G., made driving feel less like a daunting ordeal and more like a mundane activity. I felt very confident behind the wheel with their instruction. I recommend this company for those looking to build their driving skills.

My overall experience with Nova driving has been wonderful. All of my instructors: Roger, Michele, and Elizabeth were all very assuring and patient. Today, I had my third lesson with Elizabeth and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We covered a lot of areas that I needed help in like hand over hand, making left and right turns and adjusting my speed into those turns, and switching lanes. We also practiced the road test route. I went on the Bishop Ford, Dan Ryan, Kennedy, Lower Wacker Drive, and Lake Shore Drive for the very first time and I was extremely nervous at first but Elizabeth was very motivating and I felt very comfortable and did exceptionally well. I love Nova driving!

So far I have a mixed feeling based on the three lessons taken. (the first and third one with Gary and the second one with Miki)This morning I just finished my 3rd lesson with Gary, I cant believe that I drove from Hyde Park to Chinatown and to Downtown, and then drove back. Gary is a great great great instructor!! He knows the art of teaching and is extremely patient. He is the guy who wants you to improve and be the best of yourself. He was there not just giving orders, actually, he explains everything why you want to do this and shouldnt do that. He has helped me develop my skills and build up my confidence. I highly recommend GARY to every student!!My 2nd lesson was not good. The instructor (Miki) spent the first 15 mins to finish her lunch and another 5mins in restroom. She was very impatient which made me super nervous. We finished 20 mins earlier - I paid for a 2-hour lesson but it was only less than 1.5 h. I would avoid studying with this lady.My first lesson was with Gary as well. I was an ultimate beginner. Gary was great good! After the lesson, I followed his way to practice, and I can drive smoothly on the small roads in Hyde park.

Christina P is a excellent instructor and most of all patient, answered any questions I had. I love that she gave me extra pointers on the areas i need to work on most. Everything was great fromthe communication up tothe encouragement. 😊

The instructors that I had at Nova were all very experienced patient and encouraging. My instructor Christina P was very helpful because she knew very well how to let me get out of my comfort zone to learn but also to stay safe at the same time. Overall she was a great instructor!

I had my second driving lesson with Mikayla. She was really good!!! I was kinda nervous before my class but made me feel very comfortable and safe. She also shared so many super useful tricks and tips on how to remember very important rules on the road. Did I also mention she made it so fun and engaging! Overall 2 thumbs up! And was feeling very lucky and super confident after the lesson with Mikayla! ;)

I registered my daughter for driving courses. All the instructors were professional and she learned something different from each one of them. I would highly recommend Nova driving school. Dominique was wonderful she helped me through the process.

Initially I wasn’t happy to have different instructors for each lesson. But I realised later this was best, each one taught me something different. My only issue was not being able to reach Nova by phone, but they always returned calls and emails so that was not an issue either. Id gladly recommend Nova to anyone wanting to learn to drive or refresh their skills.

My instructor was Ms. Christina and she was absolutely wonderful! I was very relaxed the entire time learning to drive with her and she happily answered all my questions and was extremely patient with me. I definitely will be recommending her and Nova driving school to all my friends and associates!

Great experience! Passed my road test on the first try after only 4 lessons. I primarily worked with Lawrence and Jeremiah. Both were incredibly helpful, personable, and professional. As a new driver with no experience at all, I had to take about 8 classes. I had different instructors. They were all very good and helpful. They gave me good instructions and were patient. I want to thank Kevin at the desk who was extremely helpful in setting up lessons at short notice.

I had my 2nd lesson with Michele Edison. She was very energetic and instilled a lot more confidence in my driving abilities. She was just very helpful and understanding.

All My instructors was Amazing and very patient Thanks to Ms. Michelle and Mr. Reggie and Mr. Tim and Mr. Roger These Four help me become the driver I am today they spoke life in me and gave me the confidence and motivation that I needed to stay calm and focus why on the road. Ms.Michelle instill patient and help me to remember Up hill and Down Hill means and to stay calm through all situations. She also said if you believe in yourself you can and will achieve anything. Mr.Tim he was patient and funny and he help me practice my turning and help me to understand how a uphill and down hill feel when you do it and he also help me with a 3 point turn on a actual street and he instill a value of let the steering wheel take control and dont be afraid to ease off the the wheel. Mr. Roger he taught me how to parallel park and he was very consistent and helpful thanks. Mr. Reggie he was such amazing. Mr. Reggie gave me The motivation and on the day of the test he spoke a life lesson and it gave me the energy to pass. Now Im a License Driving Thank You guys and Thank You Nova Driving School for The amazing experience. Now I feel like I can be a driving teacher.I got my Driving License on January 20 2020

Unfortunately, this has not been a good experience. I have had issues with technology failures, missed information, poor communication, etc.. My first daughter received driving instruction from NOVA and had a great experience. Not sure what has changed, but this time the experience has been anything but good. Good luck trying to reach someone in their offices. No one answers the phones and they do not respond to emails.

I already knew how to drive and so I took one class + road test from Nova.I can strongly recommend them. They have a very large fleet and are on top of their game.I want to note. There is a strong instructor effect and your experience may end up being sub-optimal because of the instructor. If you can, do ask for Michelle Edison. She is a rockstar: a great instructor, full of energy and carries you through the whole process. My interaction with her was on the test day, which can be stressful. But not with her, not only she gives great last minute tips .. she keeps you entertained so that you dont get nervous prior to the road test.Michelle was absolutely the best. She might be the best Instructor they have, so might not always be available. But if you do get her, consider yourself lucky.

I had a driving lesson with Michelle Edison it was very helpful & informal. I didn’t know I could pick what instructor I would have so they gave me 4 different people for all my lessons. Michelle actually came with tools and information to help me & I felt the most growth after driving with her.

I am a nervous individual behind the wheel but thanks to the patience of all my instructors, I managed to to pass my road test on the first try. My overall experience with Nova was good, I took three sessions and that was all I needed. However one of my sessions did get canceled 20 mins before I was scheduled so it was upsetting but other than that everything was good.Went to the dmv with Jeremiah, was able to practice before taking the road test. He told me exactly what was gonna happen on the road test and what to expect and he was 100% right. I passed my test with no problems. Thanks Jeremiah!

Had a great experience with Nova helping me along getting my Illinois license (have a German license but had not driven in 12 years). I had 4 different teachers, but out of the 4 the one that stood out to me the most and help me get through everything to accomplish and conquer the rules to the roads to get my license was Jeremiah Washington. He is a savage💪🏾🤞🏾, he is the greatest and the most laid back, calm, down to earth driving instructor you could ever get and imagine to have. He will help get you through everything you need to know about the rules of the road and still make time to crack jokes so you won’t be too nervous which is the greatest thing about him. I really enjoy the time and the dedication that he has put forth. I want to thank him so much for letting me know that I can pass the test. “You just have to believe in yourself and I know you can pass.”. And with those words of encouragement I did. I really liked Reggie and Lawrence, both of them were super patient. But this school, I cant really seem to have the same instructors. They have different styles so I would have to adapt. I believe this stalls my progress in some way. The third instructor (I wont say his name,) we both got frustrated so I ended up just asking him to drive me back because it wasnt productive. I asked if I can just not drive with him anymore and just have the two Ive been driving with in the past, but that isnt possible.The guy in the building said hell call back, but he never did. This school isnt bad at all, I just need that consistency.Update: You’re not finding me in the system because I refuse to use my real name, well at least right now. I also don’t want to get anyone in trouble, especially during the pandemic. That instructor just wasn’t a good fit, that’s all. But anyway I’m pumping this one star because the last mediocre experience I had greatly improved and the instructors I had honestly believed in me. That is helped me pass my test. I want to thank Lawrence once again, he’s the one that practiced with hours before the test. I should add it took me longer than it should with him because I was a nervous wreck when I first learned the basics, he’s very patient and understanding. Then finally German, J. Glover and Marquis. They have different teaching styles but I can feel there is some sort of unification.

I like this driving school. They have very good instructors and move at the pace your ready to learn at. Plus you can choose your instructor when you sign up.

So let me start off by saying as a 29 year old who hasn’t driven since I was 16 plus being a nervous driver I NEVER thought I’d complete 6 sessions and PASS the road test! But today I DID!! I give all the credit to Jeremiah who was extremely patient, honest and believed in me when I didn’t in myself. He was very detailed in every lesson and made sure to keep reminding me to RELAX. I will give him 5 STARS ⭐️ for the excellent service. Nova however was not the best with scheduling. I set up my driving sessions 6weeks in advance to accommodate my work schedule. Nova changed the date/ time on me 2x which to me was an incredible inconvenience due to me revolving my life around these driving sessions. Besides that I don’t have any other complaints!

I enrolled in 2 hr behind the wheel + road test from nova since I hadnt practiced for a while. My instructor, Jeremiah exactly pointed out the mistakes in my driving and suggested ways to improve. We practiced multiple times on the road test track until I was confident and comfortable behind the wheel. I passed with flying colors, thanks to him. Wholeheartedly recommend.
