School doesn’t mess around. You learn what you need to know to get through the program and get out very quickly. All the instructors are great. Shout out to Alicia, Jeff, and Eddie for all their patience and professionalism. Couldn’t imagine a better school.

This school gives you all of the information necessary to pass pre-trip, skills, and Road test. Alicia whom is both the classroom instructor and one of the yard instructors is on point with everything. The ladies in the office are good with scheduling just make sure you schedule accordingly. DO NOT MISS any classrooms, or yard time and you can be in and out in 6 weeks with your certification. Theres 3 other instructors for the yard who are pretty decent at showing you what you need to know.This school is definately recommended.

The instructor Jesus is the best instructor in the Chicago land area HANDS-DOWN!! He is patient And compassionate about teaching. He really wants his students to achieve their goals! Great job Jesus !

I attended this driving school about 10 years ago or so. I had lots of driving experience before hand as a spotter and driving hotshot flatbed for a while, but overall, I found the school to be very helpful and was also patient with me when my mother passed away and I had to miss quite a bit, at the time I attended, the prices were fair, and the drive testing was on site, I was the only student of my class on the day of testing that passed the first go, like most things in life, you get out of it what you put in.. you have to put in the work.. good luck. If you don’t want to get your license and And have the money to pay to waste your time this is the right place. After you pay the full amount they don’t care about you. They’ll said next week you are taking your pre-trip text and the following they tell you the same thing. I got tired of waiting to take the test, they don’t call when classes are canceled, wasted my hour in the yard, you pay them an hour to drive and you get half, if you are late you have to payment the whole hour even if you don’t go.

My experience with Blue Horizon was overall great. There were some things that could’ve been better, but there isn’t too much to complain about.Pros: They are really flexible with your attendance for pre-trip classes & yard training time. You can basically do the course at your own pace so “graduation” time all depends on your schedule & how committed you are. The front desk lady, Kate is a pleasure to work with. She will do her best in every situation to accommodate you & I just really enjoyed her presence. She is knowledgeable & helpful. The permit mock tests they give are very similar to the state permit tests, I think that’s really important because they aren’t setting you up to fail. The instructors are all very educated & know what they’re doing - they are all VERY different from one another so it all depends on your learning preference. I would highly recommend Alicia for pre-trip training sessions because she goes into detail and it’s super helpful. I didn’t do pre-trip with the other instructors so I can’t judge on that.The cost of the school (if you’re paying out of pocket) isn’t too bad, but however be aware that if you don’t pass your state exam (pre-trip, skills, & road) you are charged $100 by the state each time and you’re required to book at least one hour of additional training each time you fail - which is $80 for each hour - this can cause the cost of the program to exceed their initial cost of $2690.Cons: I’m honestly not a fan of the owner. He isn’t that personable and he doesn’t have that great of a system of how he runs his business. The level of professionalism he had for me personally could have been MUCH better - but that was just my personal experience with him.In the contract you sign with the school, it does state that you get 20 hours of yard time training & 20 hours on the road training however I don’t think I know anyone who actually had 20 hours of drive time so that part is not accurate. But on the bright side if there is something specific you’d like to train on when you’re on the yard, the instructors will accommodate you and train you.I had an instructor on a weekend shift right before my test day that literally fell asleep during the 3 hours I was scheduled for. I didn’t appreciate this because every hour is $80 out of pocket & I felt unsafe and cheated out of my money. I was left on the yard alone while he ran to McDonald’s to eat. When it came time to drive on the road, he was still asleep and it could’ve been a really dangerous situation had I not known what I was doing. But, he did teach me how to master the skills exercise so that’s one good thing there.Highly recommend Alicia & Scott - you cant go wrong with either one.Huge thank you to Alicia (worked with her the most) for being such a great instructor. You are awesome at what you do & Im thankful to have been taught by you!

Amazing school and staff! Celia made me feel welcomed and was an awesome friend. This school has so much flexibility to work with you no matter what. Their driving instructors were very helpful especially Scott he goes above and beyond to teach you everything without making things complicated. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to get their CDL!!!!

If you dont have your rent paid a month and advance dont go here they will rush you through the program as soon as you get your grant and they dont care about you here its all about money I Know the review are good but believe more than 44 students attended this school since it opened.

When you get there the pretrip inspection is fineBut the problem is in the yardSo there is an old I mean very old guy super moody and quite frankly badThere trucks are super oldAnd there is no organization or cooperation between the two yard instructorsSo you could for example train on a truck and take the test in the other oneBecause the instructors don’t talk to each otherThats why they had to bring a lady instructorSo don’t go there there is like a very good school down on archer much more better than that one

This is a great school, but its not an easy school. and you Have to pay $100s for extra classes. Which I needed. But you go at Your own pace. I was 47 years old and in school. So If you are not a fast learner This is the school for you. It took me 4. Months.

I was referred to Lester, at Blue Horizon Truck Driving School, and I couldnt be any happier. The office staff does the best to accomadate you. The instructors provide you with the tools to prepare you for your exams as well as to be a professional driver. The instructors work with you in a group as well as 1 on 1 to assure you fully understand all aspects of the pre trip course. Wesley is a MASTER! Pay close attention and he will guide you step by step through the skills and driving lessons, 1 day to another you will be driving like professionals.Im glad I heard about Blue Horizon Truck Driving School, I passed my exams the 1st try and within 5 weeks I was done, just like i was told. I had an amazing experience. London did a great job teaching all the pre- tips in the classroom. They really teach you everything and make you ready for the test if you pay attention to what they say the possibility you fail is 0. Now I have to say thank you so much to Wesley the instructor in the yard. HE IS THE BEST. He really shows you the best ways to back up. The most important he show me more than 7 time the whole full pre-tips which was so helpful and I am so happy. My conclusion is my experience in this place was amazing and I recommend 110% to anyone. I was able to obtain my CDL in 38 days! Thank you Blue horizon.

This is the perfect place to get your CDL. All stuff is really nice and friendly , specially the Scott , hes really professional, and knows what hes doing. Besides that the school have the best parking lot to lorn how to drive the truck and do the ,,skills test (Toyota park ). I get my CDL license in four weeks only because I went to this school . So I want to thank the school stuff for all the work they don and strongly recommend this school to everybody !!!

Great driving school. You can get your license in as little as 4 weeks (if you go 8 hours a day 5 days a week and few hours on Saturdays, but I got my permit within 3 days of starting it, and all together it took me 5 weeks to learn everything from A to Z and get my CDL, few days later had double & triple trailer and tanker endorsements added to my license thanks to the school! The instructors, (besides the accents and some bad spelling), are very knowledgeable, and they teach you everything! not just the bare minimum you need to pass the test, because if you are there just to pass the test you shouldnt be driving a truck at all! You should study everything and know it by the time you are ready to take the test. You are going to a truck driving school to study everything about the trucks and driving them so you will be SAFE on the road, and that is what you will get from this school.You wont be just some fool that has a CDL that runs into buildings, cars and people!

Idk how this place has so high ratings! The receptionists dont know what they are doing! They dont communicate to one another. One says one thing and the other person contradicts it. If they dont know the answer to a question they should go ask the owner or the person in charge not give false information! Very unprofessional! One of their driving instructors left so now they are so over booked on lessons! They do not work around your schedule you work around theirs. If not then guess what you dont get a lesson smh! Liars they promise you so much when you sign up and at the end to dont provide. Make sure to have everything written on their contract dont take anyones word for it!

I dont know anything abouth the school and their service, but I can tell you one thing, when you start driving on your own you are going to use 10% of the things that you learn in school, so yes just leart enough to past the test! Have been driving for over 2 years! Only thing that you can learn in school is Log books, but almost none of the instructors know how to do them, so they avoid to mention it!
