Sunrise has been my Bus Company of choice for many years. However, yesterday after spending $198 to charter a bus, this is what my students, the parent volunteers and I were forced to sit on. Seats with duct tape - that had obviously been there long enough for it to begin to peel off and cause the adhesive to get on our clothes. Some seats without the duct tape just had holes in them. The back of the seats had holes in them. Some of the windows did not close and it was below freezing outside. This is totally unacceptable! I wonder if this bus would have been sent to Lincoln Park customers? While I have had a long standing relationship with Sunrise - I will not use them again! I am not sure what happened to the 10 photos that I uploaded of this disgraceful bus.

Sunrise Bus Company is beyond unprofessional, 80% of the seatbelts were not working on the bus, unsanitary soiled Clothes were on the front seat of the bus that belonged to the driver, it looked like a personal dressing room. Failure to respond promptly and accordingly to phone calls and emails. They were good initially before we paid them and once they received payment we were not able to contact them for a week. I spoke with Brendon on July 15, 2019 and havent heard back from him after calling numerous times. I have documentation on every complaint listed here. So if you need a charter bus Sunrise is not the one.

My daughter was switched to this bus company 2 months ago and at least once a week im having an issue with them picking up or dropping her off. Ive spoken to multiple people and always have gotten sorry it wont happen again. Needless to say they are very unprofessional and not trust worthy of taking care of kids.

I have a non verbal special needs child who takes this bus and the bus aid dropped her off on the curb saying thats what they have to do. They wasnt sitting in front of my house for 2 minutes and she had an attitude when I told her that she cant just let her go on the curb she have to hold her and she replied Im suppose to drop her off on the curb and leave her and I know that not their policy. And they dont answer their phone for parents with a concern

My son has been riding the school bus for 4 years, every time cps switch to Sunrise I have a problem! Their bus drivers are never on time and they have very bad attitudes/ very unprofessional! One particular bus driver (Wanda) always complain about parents not being prompt to get their kids off the bus, but shes never on time herself! She talks about other parents to me. Ive called in on her several times, but they wont change or do anything, her attitude gets worse by the day. Ill be moving to a suburban area next year and I hope Sunrise isnt anywhere in the vicinity!!

If possible, Id give them 0 stars. Dont waste your time with this company. The drivers are rude and many arent cleared from their background check through CPS to drive. They still send their unverified drivers out to us. We had to wait hours to get drivers that would clear on the day of the trip!They are also very unorganized. They also sent a bus to our school when one of our trips had been cancelled weeks prior to the scheduled date. When trying to clear the misunderstanding, the representative from accounts receivable was ridiculously rude. She didnt allow me to speak stating, youre just a teacher. Wow. Lets add unprofessional to the list.

The worst bus company every! To many excuses, never on time rude and so very unprofessional. I wish I could give them no stars. And the manager Tim don’t waste your time he don’t care it’s just his job.... go elsewhere please!!!!And the morning dispatch lady is the worst her attitude is terrible and she’s a liar!!! I would mention her name but she refused to give it to me! If you don’t believe me read the other reviews and run..... I swear this business is all screwed up!

This has been the worst year of bus service I have ever experienced. This driver has been late more than shes been on time. And Im not talking about 5-10 minutes late more like 20-30 minutes late. When you call dispatch to see where this bus is they treat you like its no big deal like late is the new standard. SERIOULSY they are typically late 3 out of the 5 school days per week.

This is the most awful transportation service we have ever received. The bus was late for picking up our kids. We ordered a bus for 24kids and 24 parents. However, the bus can only fit 43 people. 5 people has nowhere to sit. It is extreme dangerous for our little ones. The bus drive is not nice to us. We have strollers. He did not even open the back door for us, let alone assist a little bit. I called the company after I came back from the field trip. I told them that it was unsafe for the children because some of them did not have a seatbelt to fasten. But the representative was super rude and told me that there was nothing wrong and everything they did was legal. I feel very offended and will not use this company any more for our school in the future. They do not care students’ safety.

They pick up my grandson & have not been on time (within a 5 min window) except the first 2-3 days. I don’t know how many times I’ve called dispatch but I bet they know me by now.

Nothing but pick up problems or missed pick ups. We have had so may times where the bus never shows up and every other week its a new driver. When calling into the company, the dispatchers are always short and rude.

I wish I could just give this zero stars. Everyday my bus is late to my stop. They never get to my school on time. And I think I left my phone on the bus but the stupid company won’t check the bus to see if there is anything. Every time I call them and ask to speak to an operator no one is ever available. Would not recommend!

Scary driver! Bus #1301! In Orland Park at 2:50 on 151st. At least 20 miles over, in a 30mph zone she was flying up behind me to cut me off at the merge. Yes there were kids in the bus. Just remembering also she did NOT stop at the tracks earlier. Beware if anyones kids use this bus!

I would also rate no stars if i could this bus company is no good there buses run and brake bad when i was getting on bus number 2316 neither hood latch was latched one side had 2 holes drilled and had a zippy tie holding the hood down if thats how they fix there buses whats the rest of the bus look like and i told the driver he laughed and said thats not my job but it is thats on his pre trip book he kept looking at his phone while driving i bet u the good reviews are not from real people probably management faked those reviews.

On several occasions had a bus pick up kids and block the entry/exit for our development. Because there is enough space to not block the exit/entry she being unprofessional. I called and complained and the man stated their special needs kids. it was never about whom she was picking up blocking exit/entry not with the stop sign on her bus, but with her entire bus blocking.

My son has been constantly late to school for 2 months and this is his first year going to school. I hate how these drivers dont take childrens education seriously! Whenever i bring up the issue to the company they give me the drivers phone number but he doesnt answer! I have never dealt with a company that was so inconsistent. No stars if i had a choice

Came to this bus company as an applicant recently & one of the black female trainer/personnel people that go by the name of Ocean which is not her birth name & is pictured in a photo the second female from the left with the red tank top on under her beige shirt with long dreads has a nasty, aggressive, inappropriate attitude & was very rude & disrespectful. During the process after applying & trying to get hired I went through fingerprints in south suburban Hazel Crest, some unpaid training classes with them, pre-employment physicals downtown & I already came in with my credentials in hand that just needed to be renewed soon. Well this trainer/personnel black female they call Ocean secretly had no intentions on sending my paperwork to the Secretary of State so that my CDL could be renewed in the process & just had my paperwork sitting a long time after I did mostly everything they had required for me to do & she had the nerve to tell me in a loud aggressive manner to my face in front of other morbidly obese black female trainers like her there in a room that it was not of importancy to her to have my CDL renewed. How am I suppose to drive if you dont have it renewed? She told me if I didnt like it I could go back to the company where I came from. Do not apply for work as a Professional Driver here because youll regret it. By the way my cdl ended up expiring.

I called yesterday afternoon to get information not only about getting a ride for my child and also become a bus driver which is something I been wanting to do since I was little.... They called me at 5:52 am I was sleep I returned the call when I woke up .... they acted as though nobody called but they did and I have screen shots to prove it.... Not only was the phone operator rude but the hiring supervisor was very disrespectful talking about why does it matter who called or why they called.... I said because it was 5 in the morning I wanted to know who called and why that early. He told me I was being disrespectful and hung up..... I called back trying to make sure I was not hung up on he did it 3 more times.... Then told me I would never get a job with him..... In going to apply and if he turns my application away Im suing for discrimination

This is absolutely the worst bus company I have ever incountered. My childrens safety is always an issue. What does a working parent need to do. The beginning of the school year the bus driver missed stops, came too early or too late and either didn’t pick up the kids or left them. Now a kid was left on the bus for an hour and a half with nobody being notified, police being called and full blown panic set in all because of negligence. This should NEVER EVER EVER happen with a child in your care. Bus driver should have called dispatch to let them know she was lost. You have a smart phone, gps, google, ask SIRI!!! I am appalled at how any school or establishment would use this company with so many mistakes that accure. Your company needs a complete reconstruction and proper training to all exsisting and new employees and pay the good employees what they deserve so they don’t leave! Reviews are done for a reason, use them people.

Bus service is terrible. Doesnt show up, gets into accidents, runs late, forgets to stop at stops in the afternoon to drop kids off. Worst experience ever. Chicago Public Schools should no longer hire this service for students.
