This school needs to be shut down. Not only do they create a major traffic jam in the morning and evening when the parents drop their kids off at the school, the administrators allow the parents to park in the NO PARKING ANY TIME area. I live right across the street and never in my life have I ever seen recess teachers/administrators be so careless with watching children. They let them play close to the road, yell and scream AT CARS, which could lead to the drivers getting distracted and crashing. There is absolutely no regard for anyone else but themselves. Have they ever considered that some people in the neighborhood sleep during the day in order to work a night shift?! I am absolutely fed up with this school. I have gone so far as to call the office and tell them politely about these matters, but they have done nothing! I will be contacting d11 about these matters and maybe then there will be some action taken. Absolutely ridiculous!! I hope this school gets shut down.

I have worked as a janitor at this school and while some of the teachers were amazing, the head staff that was in charge of the cleaning crew treated me horribly. I was never taken serious, respected, and did not enjoy the constant knit-picking and complaining staff when they left their school classrooms a mess at the end of the day, in my personal opinion. The only time I felt appreciated was due to a few special teachers. In my personal opinion based off my experinece at this school, they did not appreciate the janitor staff and found ways to complain every single day. I am glad I dont work here anymore but I do miss the few kind teachers.

I dont go to this school, but I live in the neighborhood. This school does not do a good job of watching their children while they are on recess. Ive seen kids playing by the street while yard duty teachers do nothing. This school also does not do a good job of reaching out to the community. We had no idea that they were going to expand. The construction would start really early in the morning and go until about five. They need to do a better job of community out reach.

Its been a while since Ive been here, I attended this school from 4th grade to 8th and am going to be a sophomore in college next year getting my BS in Cybersecurity from the University of Nebraska. So bear in mind, a lot couldve changed since I was there. My experience here was mixed, I really enjoyed some of the people in my grade, and keep in contact with some to this day, I havent had that sense of camaraderie in a school since. That being said, I know a lot of people who went to this school who wound up sputtering out in High School. I believe that this school only really worked for the kids who could play the social game with the teachers and staff, otherwise, you were blackballed as trouble. I personally didnt experience this, but looking back I could see how it affected others, and potentially ruined some of my friends academic lives. On top of that, I felt like I was socially stunted during my Freshman and Sophomore years of HS because of my attendance here. Though I do remember some great teachers here, shoutout to Mr. Szpak and Ms. Peterson for being absolute Gs: you saved my hide on multiple occasions. In conclusion, I would say this system worked out great for me and allowed me to get ahead, but it definitely didnt for others, and put them on the universally feared academic backburner. Also to all the kids graduated from this school or whove recently graduated from this school: you can make it, and make it big. Dont let some embarrassing, stupid, or traumatic thing you did and/or were a victim of in middle school drag you down. High School is your clean slate for new friends and memories, weve all got baggage from this time in our lives, but once you reach adulthood, it will all just be distant memories. Dont stop the grind, youll regret the bad things that happened to you a lot less if youve got something to show for it in the end.Bonne chance !ASR

I love this school with all my heart. I was part of the first class to go all the way through from kindergarten to eighth grade, and it has made an INCREDIBLE impact on me. The community is absolutely fantastic. Its like everyone is one big family and Ive forged unforgettable bonds there. The teachers are so invested in each of their students and care not just about their grades, but also about them as people. Its small, which I loved because it allowed everyone to have deeper relationships, and it was awesome to be in classes based on my abilities instead of my age. I would highly recommend it to anyone: young or old, gifted or not. It was such a fun, kind, and just all-around beautiful experience and I wish I could have stayed forever.

I attended this school 1st through 8th grade and I will say with absolute certainty I had never been more excited to leave an environment in all of my years. I am a sophomore in high school now, let that be noted. My 1st-5th grade experience was fine, teachers are not very experienced and dont really know how to deal with situations involving teenagers. My 6th-8th experience was a nightmare, the teachers did not help me grow in any way. This school hurt me if anything, I now have trust issues, specifically with adult men. They vigorously push the ideology that girls shoulders are a distraction, Ill be straightforward none of the females were dressing to impress the men if you catch my drift. Thinking about going back inside that building makes me want to vomit. They shelter kids from the real world and it is pathetic. This school does not teach you anything about high school so I came into my public high school inexperienced and petrified. PLEASE if you are considering going here for your elementary years, wonderful, be my guest, but if you plan on going here for your middle school career, Im begging you... dont.

So far this school has been amazing for our daughter. She started in kindergarten and is now in 2nd grade. I also volunteer for a few hours once a week where I get to go into many of the classrooms. The kids are always engaged and the teachers treat them with respect.

My son was having the most difficult time in middle school, being very gifted, but also having a neurological disorder that makes him just a little different. Bullying by other kids & TEACHERS had escalated into self injurious behaviors for him. Ever since he was accepted into ACL, hes excited to go to school! Hes in love with his teachers, hes made lots of friends, & hes thriving. This school has a wonderful program. Its literally everything Ive ever thought a school should be. Finding it was just astounding! Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine it even existed.. much less, that Id have an extremely happy kid, at school & home.Thank you, ACL!!!

This school does not teach the kids any thing, overall there are a small (very small) handful of teachers that were actually qualified to teach. for example one of my homeroom teachers did not have a degree in teaching and was not going to college to get a degree. the teachers also did not know how to run a classroom and there was no set curriculum within the school, meaning that the teachers could teach the same thing year and year again. the school did well at placing kids in needed grade level, but they teach you nothing for high school

The school has a great environment for making lifelong friends, but lacks somewhat in the teaching department. I just started my freshman year of highschool after being at this school since it first opened and have friends there that I havent talked to since they were at AACL two years ago, however, in some classes, the curriculum lacks. I feel that I wasnt proplerly prepared for everything highschool has to offer and that the teachers could be better qualified. All in all, the school is fine, just not the place to send your kid if you want to let them reach their fullest potential, I know I havent yet.

I went to this school for at least a third of my life. I loved it like crazy but some of it just wasnt that good. Also I was stabbed in the arm with a pencil here. that was probably the worst thing that happened.

While this school acknowledges that kids have different needs, like a certain class just high enough to be challenged, it will not prepare you for high school. Knowing whats ahead of me, in terms of high school, nothing that I learned, and none of the skills I learned, and none of the experiences I had prepared me for high school. This school was the reasom for lots of mentally hard times these past few years, some of those things staying with us for much longer than the time we spent there. I cannot believe I wasted my time here, thr place that caused me and my siblings so much pain and difficulty. There has not been a single time I regretted moving schools.
